it is a difficult position you now find yourselves in, trapped between artistic integrity and business resposibility. But in both cases, the ending of Mass Effect 3 represents a failure. As a business, you should have put your best work forward, because this dissertion that we feel with what you have given us will likely result in significantly reduced future sales, a bad thing for a business, especially in these economical times. As an art, the work itself deserves to be the best it can be, and this reflects poorly both as an art, and the people who worked on it as artists.

I feel that if you were going for a philosophical ending, that you would need to explain it in laymans terms. Not many would think about their entertainment, and most certainly not in a philosophical manner as so few of us do. Not that you shouldn't be encouraged to include philosophical content in your work, as you have previously done, but plot holes and inconsistencies diminish the impact of the revelations the work includes.

You have represented the best the videogames industry has to offer before. Let this mistake not be the end of it.

One popular misunderstanding seems to be that we fans dislike the bittersweet nature of the ending. That is false. If we disliked bittersweet endings, then we would be complaining about Mordin's death or Thane's death etc. But we are not complaining about that.

I complain only that Shepard wasn't shown alive with his LI. This is the ending of my Shepard.
I agree with the other things though, so...
