I want to say that I love the majority of the game. It's just like many, the ending is what I don't care for. It's mainly all the plot holes and lack of closure to the series.
Like the fact that
Joker is running out of no where for some reason all of the sudden.
The
fact that your squadmates that are with you when the blast happens,
suddenly appear on The Normandy with not a scratch on them.
The fact
that Anderson was right there with you, but oddly isn't touched by the
blast and looks pretty good, but comes up right behind you, yet doesn't
seem to find it necessary to help you with your run to the beam, even
though you look like death warmed over.
Then when it's all done,
suddenly the Mass Relays explode, but last time that happened, it wiped
out an entire system.
Also you don't see what happens to the rest of the
galaxy. The Quarians, Geth, Turians, Asari, Krogan, Salarians, Elcor,
Hanar, Drell, & Volus fleets that come with you to battle are now
stuck in the Sol system. Some of which can't live here because their
biological systems wont work here. So the logical assumption is that
pretty much all of them die off, which makes saving The Galaxy seem like
a pretty jackass move now.
Also your crew comes off the ship all
grinning like idiots, and not upset at all that the man who has been
with them for about 3 years now getting ready for this war just gave his
life for them. Hell even your LI doesn't seem too bothered.
So the plot holes & lack of closure are my biggest issues with the game. Other than that, I loved the game, and if we were given a proper ending that truly honors the series, then I would say this was the best game in the series.

First of all fix the bugs: After the first Javik-video in the "The Ashes"-DlC, I experienced crashes. There are some graphic issues like guns being visible through a wall in multiplayer etc. Furthermore fix the face-import-problem. Former standard femshep does not look like in the predecessors.
Second, include the full dialog between Anderson and Shepard which can be found here:
Third, change the ending beginning with the starchild. Though I would have favoured a happy ending, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with a sad one. If the game had ended after the dialog between Anderson and Shepard with the crucible firing ending the Reaper threat and Shepard bleeding to death I would have been, well, not happy, but it would be something I could have lived with, however, that ship is sailed.
One option would be to go with the indoctrination theory outlined here
http://www.youtube.c...re=results_main
In this case the ending is incomplete. Completion of the plot is most desirable, several proposals where already outlined.
Alternatively start with the battle on earth, where Shep and his/her squad run toward the teleport and give us different endings depending on EMS.

The more I read, without being too critical of any idea, the more interesting it gets. A lot of the what worked/what didn't seem to be falling along similar lines. By and large though, this wouldn't end up being a 30 minute DLC. It would be like 2-4 hours of gameplay to pull all the elements into it. Lair of the Shadow Broker was around 2-3.
It could be told serial novella style. Which would be cool. It would be episodic gameplay, which I haven't played before. Hopefully, people realize that if they do a massive alternate ending it's going to take months for it to be done right. With something that big salaries have to be paid, and voice actors will have to be contracted. So I'm fine paying $15-20 bucks for that.

all of this feedback is great and all, but why are we begging to pay extra for it?
if you are that upset about it (and 1000s of pages says people are), shouldnt we be demanding this be a patch or something?

I was working a post for this thread when I realized I had invented my new sig.
Like the sig says.. My key insurmountable problems extend from the ending and they are
No Closure, No Sense, No Future, and No Choice.
Closure. -- There isn't any.
Sense -- Starchild and space magic (yo Dawg I heard...)
Future -- Ties into closure. was all advanced civilization supernova'd or just stranded?
Choice -- To be fair Mass Effect was always a great roller coaster ride who's branching paths and passenger customization did a mostly good job of concealing that it was on rails. You abandon this illusion, Shatter it. The final choice. on a grand concept level probably is the most divergent you've ever offered. Your delivery makes the futures look identical bleak and cheap. Pick your colour.

I just finished the game, and honestly I don't have any major problems with the ending. It surprised me, and that made me kinda happy. I was a little disappointed that each ending was almost the same except for basically a change in color scheme, although the implications of each ending were vastly different, that really isn't expanded upon. I do not like the mass relays exploding because I thought this would destroy a whole system (though I guess an argument could be the shockwave forced the explosion away from sol?)
The thing I would want changed in mass effect 3 though is the way galactic readiness is used in the game. Since I have it on xbox and don't like to use live, I found myself paying for it to up the readiness rating, and only to find that it decreases rather quickly. This means in 2 years if I want to play again, I'll have to pay for live again if I want to get the 5000+ readiness points I believe I need for the ending I want. From what I have read, the only way to get those points is to pay for even more stuff, this make bioware come off as greedy and sneaky in the ways they want to keep the franchise going, and I am not a fan.

Things I liked: gun customization, heavy melee and melee combo moves, varying gameplay sequences, ambient conversation options, more guns, graphics and cutscenes, killing Kai Leng, Grayson Academy, and MULTIPLAYER!
Things that I am indifferent on: same sex relationships, planet scanning, and the new hacking/bypassing
Things that I did not like: there were no temporary squad members, lack of conversation options compared to the previous games, my war assets were not shown during the endgame sutscenes, Kai Leng was a tool, and Tali's face reveal was weak
Things that really bothered me (I hated): the lack of polish and closure in the ending that the first two games had, Kai Leng kills Thane, the logic of the starchild, what happened to the Normandy and the crew, and how Garrus ended up on the Normandy (he was with me when I charged)
I really hope there is more dlc or a patch coming that extends the ending (indoc theory anyone?) or puts in more dialogue choices with the starchild. I was fine with the plotholes until that kid opened his mouth. At the that point I lost all optimism for the ending.

I want my ending where I marry Garrus and we adopt krogan babies
Plus, I want to know that my rigorously dedicated paragon Shepard made a difference in the galaxy by showing me how my decisions impacted my ending.

i would of wanted to see shep alive with his LI perhaps a last decent scene between them where shep retires and dies of old age, like im sure you've heard before making the last scene like a dream for shep, where when he wakes up TIM get controlled like the did with saren, and he tries to destroy the crucible, when shep wins if he wins, i would suggest using sanctuaries data, the crucible only affects the reapers, (husks become hostile to all) and the reapers die, shep escapes the citadel and it closes up, forever, mass relays are still intact and the galactic alliance starts working on a new citadel like station without the mass reray linking part..

3d model of Tali's face and give some closure on the characters after the war. plus a better romance scene with Tali.

First, let me say that the whole trilogy was great. Bioware really created something big here. If they didn't most of us would be going on with our lives saying who gives a crap about the ending.
Boiling it down.
1. Closure. What happened to our teammates we helped influence and the galaxy we helped shape?
2. Thematic clashes. The ending offers three false choices based on the "undeniable" fact that creator and created will always try to kill eachother. Throughout the franchise, however, themes of tolerance, hope and faith is rampant. Why the change of heart in the final 10 minutes? This had made the ending very jarring.

My suggestions won't be original at all, but I'll add them just the same:
No surprise here, but I'd be very happy to see a rework of the ending. I won't try and pretend I can do a better job than you did (mainly since I can't), but what I do know is that the current ending left me disappointed after enjoying 2,9 brilliant Mass Effect games prior to that point. It doesn't need to be without sorrow, in fact I'd prefer it not to, but I'd love an ending that didn't involve the destruction of the Mass Relays, nor the nonsensical cut to the Normandy crashing from doing who-knows-what.
Secondly, I'd love an epilogue. Doesn't have to be fancy or costly in terms of production time, just a simple text-based one á la the first Dragon Age game will do for me. Although, that being said, I do think a lengthier epilogue would be fitting after such a grand trilogy, but I know the finances need to add up too.
Thirdly, I'd suggest (in case you'll be reevaluating the ending) that you take another look at the uncut Anderson dialogue (the one between The Illusive Man and ascending to meet the Catalyst) and whether or not it could fit in with the pace in a revised ending. Take to heart how praised it is with your fans and perhaps see if you can make it fit so it doesn't feel too long.
Thanks for listening to your fans :-)

1. Make more vastly different endings possible. If there are 16 endings, I'd expect:
1.1. 4 different good endings with Shep and his crew alive and the reapers "dealt with" (not necessarily destroyed)
1.2. 4 different endings which are not as good or bitter-sweet: Heavy losses, some races nearly extinct or whatever, Shep dead or most of his crew dead,
1.3. 4 different bad endings but still victory over the reapers: earth destroyed, mass relays destroyed...
1.4. 4 different endings where the reapers win and everything was a failure.
2. Make a new scene / change an existing scene with Tali, so one can see an ingame model of her face (on Rannoch) or her entirely without the suit (final love scene). C'mon, we are no children! Liara gets naked as well... no big deal... The Witcher 2 anyone?!?
3. Make the ME2 cast REALLY romancable again. Why not create ONE CHANGABLE spot in the Normady squad that can be occupied by the ME2 Love Interest?
4. Give us a looooooooooong and fulfilling epilogue that shows us what happens to every major character and to the galactic civilization after each ending.
5. Show us in the cutscene how the war assets we gather AFFECT THE FINAL SPACE BATTLE. Show me e.g. how the "Volus bombing fleet" bombs a reaper... seriously! I want to see that.
6. Show us more from the ground battle! Where are Grunt, Jack, Kazumi and so on... well.... make the entire last mission on London more interesting. Show us how Shep gets attacked by 10 Brutes at once and just as you think they get to you, you see Grunt and a squad of raging Krogans intercepting them!
7. Fix Talis Photo!!! Her fingers just look ugly. Keep the woman as a model for Tali if you will, but redo the photoshopping or draw her entirely new.
8. Integrate more ACTUAL conversation with the team on the Normandy. Not just "click space and hear 1 or 2 lines of monologue/dialogue!!

I don't wanna add to the lots of changes for the ending, to many of those and i will just repeat myself.
1: I find that Cyro blast on the higher difficult arnt worth it. Yeah i can debuff the enemy but i really don't see it. That goes for single player and multi player. The idea is cool but i really can't see the effect you were looking for.
2: Improved multi player, meaning better connection, less lags and bugs. I tried a map where i was stucked, 5 mins later i see myself running all over the map, running in the air and then stucked, which then forced me to turn off my xbox360. Because of that, i just lost xp and credits.
3: More maps, more types of enemies and more multiplayer conetent. I think that it could be awesome to fight against some of the diiferent gangs, the collectors and stuff like that. Maybe add in some different types of challenges or some other types of map, like fighting a thresher maw, destroy a reaper or defend a base with turrets & other stuff.
4: I was a lille disappointed when i came to earth. Yeah it was the final battle but could it not be in like 2 or more steps, just like the genophage. Look at Starcraft 2, when a player is being asked to travel to char for the final mission, you can't go back and it's more then just one mission. It was epic and i could see the things that i had done, paid off.

Indoctrination theory would still create even more plot holes. The ending you made IS NOT suggesting indoctrination by reapers of Shepard. Scrap the old ending and create a new one. I know you were trying to create a Daren Aronofski ending with larger than universe theme but please, this is not that kind of game. Seeing the ending is like watching Die Hard movie with The Fountain ending... Imagine how would that look like? People liked about this game its Steven Spielberg or Ridley Scot spirit with many sacrifices but with the ORIGINAL mission completed... This is a WAR STORY not a bloody Salvador Dali picture... Even Japanese anime had better conclusions and they are notorious for their twisted storyline and complex characters and larger than life events...

This ending have too many unknowns.
For example... what happened to Samara, Grunt, Jacob, Miranda, Jack, Wrex,... on Earth? Did they survive? or died?
And Omega? will Aria take it back? Nope I think, because there are no mass relays anymore.
What about Cdr.Baily, Aria, the council? ...and the rest of people on the Citadel? What happened to them?

I dont like
1) Game Ending.
Because of:
A)In the end there is no real choice there is only a choice between green death, red death and blue death.
Choices made by me throughout all trilogy don't influence on the game ending. We just want this (Something was made incorrectly then someone will die, all has made incorrectly then all will die and reapers win, if everything made correctly then everyone will survive.Like it was in ME2)
C) Explanation of reapers motives that we find out together with the spaceboy destroy all gloomy and terrible
atmosphere around reapers which has been created in ME 1-2. (After meeting with this spaceboy there is such strange feeling that reapers not terrible superreasonable creatures but puppies of this spaceboy.)
D) There is no way to save Shepard and Anderson. (And It was more interesting if we had some choice between to save Shepard or to sacrifice his life. But better allow us save Shepard and Anderson.)
E) In the end of game I expected more epic battle for Earth with epic catscene like promised CG-trailer "Take Earth Back" . Also I expected that Shepard as always will epically kick the ass of reapers.
F) The Absence of the epilog.
Ending destroy RE-PLAYABILITY of this great saga.Need a happy ending like in Me1-2.
Besides the ending.
1) Simplification of dialogues and reduction of their quantity in comparison with ME 1-2. In ME3 all dialogues are
simplified to: good answer ,bad answer, ask "How are you?". In next Mass Effect it would be desirable if there will be more difficult and branching dialogues.
2) Small minus. In missions the equipment is located in various corners of a location, and its search slows
down rate of game, rate of action.
3) Side quests very monotonous, and those which on a citadel absolutely not interesting and even the annoying.Better one small mission with a good plot, than ten short without a plot like on citadel .
I like
1) As always the plot is awesome and all that happens on the screen, all catscenes, all dialogs, all characters.
Mass Effect this new word in a genre of games. It not simply game this is interactive-cinema.
2) The improved fighting system in comparison with ME2 it became more dynamical.
3) Incidental music.Special thanks to Jack Wall And Sam Hulick. Music which they have created for all parts Mass
Effect is magnificent. (Clint Mansell too has made good work . But Sam and Jack do well and without him.)
Your fan with hope on the good ending

First and foremost, i want to thank the community teams in and around Bioware for dealing with the fans and even going as far as willing to take on board our suggestions and input. You certainly don't have to but the fact that you are goes a long way in to showing your dedication to your fans. We as fans have no right to ever 'demand' anything, though i believe with the right wording and some respect then maybe you can hear where we are coming from. I deal with a few other gaming communities so i know what it is like to see backlash ...i've just never seen it on this scale before. So, as i was saying, my commendations to the team responsible for sitting here day after day and reading every single one of these posts and passing them on. It is not an easy task, so thank you.
Regarding the Mass Effect 3 ending, like everybody else i felt detached. The entire series is very straight-forward and to the point, the story never messes you around, you know where you are and what is happening, any plot twists that occur do so in a way where the player never feels out of the loop for too long. The final 30 minutes of ME3 was so removed from that structure that it took your entire fanbase and threw them against the wall, we were not used to it. I can safely say for the first time in my life, whether it has been movies or video games, i came away from a conclusion and did not know how i felt. It was the strangest sensation and honestly i was a little hurt because Mass Effect has been something so grounded, i knew what was at stake the entire time.
And then i read the Indoctrination theories here with these bunch of awesome people and i felt something else entirely - http://w11.zetaboard...opic/7688087/1/
I got goosebumps and actually had tears in my eyes when reading all of that. During those last 30 minutes of ME3 i had been removed from everything i knew. The entire series gave you clear-cut choices and the end of it all left me feeling scared and confused. In my first playthrough i overlooked every piece of evidence in that last 30 minutes because i was struggling to find something familiar, something to bring me back on track, and nothing did. This Indoctrination theory brought me back. I chose the Destroy option and suddenly every bit of doubt i had regarding this ending was washed away, i felt i had returned to normality and everything made sense again.
And i feel Bioware did this ending on purpose. I feel you wanted us fans to feel in this exact way because you WANTED us to look for the answers ourselves and break the indoctrination that is occurring to Shepard.
So in my playthrough, Shepard breathed again on those London streets and that can only mean we are returning to the fight and to discover what the real ending is. Brilliance. If it is true then Bioware, you are legendary. And if this is not Biowares intentions then honestly you could do worse to claiming it was anyway.
I do have a few suggestions, some of which have been echoed here a million times but never the less i write this as i want you the company to understand how a fan feels -
The characters. It's been such a long time since i fell in love with a cast in a game. They have grown with us over the years, they have become our friends and family. We take them everywhere with us, in some ways they inspire us too. The ending we hope for is to see everybody we have cared about achieving what they set out to do. Shepard dying is all very well and patriotic on a galactic scale but for someone like me? That wasn't what i was fighting for. I fought for Tali, i wish to build a house with her on Rannoch and settle down. I fought for Garrus, my brother in arms, i wish to see him at the bar and buy this Turian a drink for all the times he ran with me through out our adventures. I fought for Wrex, he has wanted to bring the Krogan back to it's rightful glory and i want to see Tuchanka thrive once more. I fought for Thane, a trusted ally whom i wished we could have only found a cure for. Every bullet Kai Leng received from me had Thane's name on it. I'm pretty sure even Kasumi Goto owes my Shep a drink, lol.
I have gone in to detail but what i'm getting at is ...these characters are our friends. In ME2 depending on how we played determined who survived. So, for ME3 depending on how we played should determine if we get to see these characters that we care for finally live happily ever after. It is what we have been thriving to see.
Bioware, if you are making proper closure to the series then please let us spend some good times with these characters as we the player will be saying farewell to the series (who knows if or when we will see these guys again). Even if the DLC is just sitting around talking to the characters, i don't care. I don't need to shoot a single thing. I just want to see the cast finally relax. Never before has character bonding in a game felt this uplifting, i can not tell you the amount of times i have smiled at things that the characters have said to each other. ME3's current ending is a fantastic twist on the playing experience if like me you believe in the indoctrination theory but now we need to bring closure to the cast that made the game so memorable in the first place.
Sorry that this was a lot to read, thank you for your time and for passing this on to the creative team at Bioware.

Patrick Weekes for Lead Writer. His parts of the writing were the best, and I just want him solely because of LotSB.
