Jessica, I appreciate your clarification, but as you know, we've spent every minute since we finished our individual games giving feedback. It's on the board everywhere you look and much of it is well thought out and in depth. However, it gets very difficult to continue being constructive when you begin to feel that you're repeating yourself ad nauseum, no one is really listening and understanding what you're saying, and you're getting nothing of substance in response. We've been constructive, in both our complaints and our campaigns. Every thing we have to say about the game has been layed out in myriad ways. So far, all the BioWare response has done is heighten frustrations. My question is how long will this pattern have to continue before you respond with something of substance? Because in the meantime, frustrations will continue to grow with no end in sight.

Although regardless of whether you stick with the endings or make new indoctrination style ones please can you make sure it makes sense. For example explaining why joker and my squad from the final mission are suddenly on the normandy several jumps down the relays. Add closure to whatever you descide to do and make sure our choices actually make a difference.
EDIT:
PLEASE READ THIS it state all of the bits that make no sense

Thank you Bioware!

In short, I don't think the endings made any sense. I would prefer if the star-child stuff hadn't happened or, if it did, that we were given more options and a better/deeper explanation of why the Reaper cycle was started.
To my mind, the idea that the Reaper cycle was initiated because of some organic/synthetic fatalism is illogical. I think it would have made more sense if, for instance, the Reaper cycle was created for the sake of organic diversity. The more advanced a species becomes, the more it spreads through the galaxy and colonises uninhabited worlds. However, this could prevent other species from developing as the advanced races sprawls ever further across the planets, so the Reaper cycle wipes out the technologically advanced races to make sure there is room for the next ones to develop. The essence of these species is distilled and made to inhabit a new Reaper. Getting to wilder theoreticals - because, frankly, the purpose of the Reapers was supposed to be "beyond our comprehension," and this is at least a bit more so than "inevitable synthetic/organic war, trollolol!" - together, the Reapers form an ever-more-complex super-network of incredible cognitive power to achieve an end only known to their creator species, who found a way to harness the complexity of life for computing. However, to really increase their power, they wanted new advanced species to keep developing, rather than a small number dominating the galaxy, so they created the Reapers. In terms of what the creator species actually wanted...? Maybe to solve problems like the cold death / big crunch of the universe, to transcend some of the laws of the universe, to have eternal physical life for all, or have total control of matter? They felt some solution had to be possible, but couldn't think of it themselves, so they are constructing this biological-synthetic super-hyper-computer over millions and millions of years? Just an idea. Not hung up on it, but it makes a bit more sense to me than the actual explanation, because in Mass Effect Shepard showed that synthetics and organics don't have to fight no matter what, but s/he has no option to make this point to the star child.

I would rearrange some things so Anderson and Shepard still have their final moments. That was just too good to be a hallucination, unless you give me something even better.
Have the war assets make a difference in the final sequences. Have 10 Brutes appear and right when you're thinking OH SH.. here come the Volus Bombers or Elcor Commandos and wipe them out. Anything that give some context to the War Assets.
Show Tali's face on Rannoch. It's the perfect time for it.Or in the Super Happy LI ending.
Show some scenes of the Reapers either getting beat down by all the different races in your fleet or show the opposite with them all being annihilated.
There needs to be a wide range of endings to reward players for their dedication, or show them the consequences of their poor decisions. Endings that wrap up THE PLAYERS experience with the story and characters. It will be harder to do but that's what the fans and the characters deserve.
Also in whatever DLC is planned. Please make a Marauder Shileds Easter Egg or even Achievement/Trophy.

Guys, this is an ongoing dialogue. Casey's post is not the final definitive answer to your concerns. This is a collaboration.
In order to be successful in this, I need you to help me gathering feedback and tell us what you want to see. I understand that people are still feeling emotionally raw or untrusting, and I'm not saying it's not valid to feel that way. However, if you want to see your feedback implemented, this needs to become constructive and rational.
Complaining more isn't going to get you what you want. Tell us what you need. Make polls, collect your thoughts. Chris and I are gathering this information and the developers are listening.
This is a partnership. Let's have hope and make your voice heard - that includes positive feedback too (if you like something we're doing, tell us so we know to keep it up!).
Alternative Ending. We don't want to be forced with basically three downer ending which have the same consequences on the galaxy ( blowing up the relays). You promised us a golden/happy ending, it's time to keep that promise. We also want closure and an epilogue, even if just like the one in DAO. I'll be totally honest, for now the game has absolutely no replay value for me because of the ending. For the same reason, i don't see the point to buy DLC.
And to conclude, i will say that it's a damn shame that the ending is so awfull when the rest of the game was so awesome.
I'm just going to repost this because it pretty much describes how I feel accurately.

Ok. I literally signed in the first time in a few years to post to this.
WHAT WE WANT (in my opinion):
First, I want to see the War Assets I worked so hard to get in the Final Battle. I do not recall seeing any of the Citadel assets, the Rachni, the Mercenary groups, Miranda, Samara, Jack, or any of my other squadmates (aside from the two I chose) fighting in the Final Battle AT ALL. I didn't even see the Geth fleet. Come on. I worked so hard to get this, why can't I see them fight to save the galaxy?
Next, I those War Assets that I gathered to actually have an impact on the ending. If I had ALL the War Assets, I should expect a very special and rewarding ending. If I had lots of Assets, but not all, I just expect a great ending. If I had around half the Assets, I should expect a more grim ending. If I had the bare essential Assets that I picked up during the Priority questline, I should expect a bad ending.
HOWEVER. All the squadmates that I SAVED in ME2 should have more weight on the ending then they did. If I could assign them roles in the fight, that would be INCREDIBLE. "Jack, give those soldiers some cover!." "Garrus, lead Alpha team to the right flank, and Grunt on the left flank". Even if I could direct the Geth, Quarian, and Rachni fleets (since those you have a direct link to saving/destroying). All very similar to ME2 in the end when I gave people roles. This would be AMAZING.
Finally, when all is said and done, I want to see who survived. I want to see the result of my work. I want to see the world in ruins, or the world being rebuilt. I want to see the Krogan rejoicing with Krogan babies next to them. I want to see Tail's beachfront home on Rannoch with the Geth helping her build it, or the Geth alone on Rannoch if that's whay I decided. I want to see who I ordered to their deaths in the Reaper fight because I made the wrong decision (perhaps because I didn't do talk to Jack in Purgatory and she dies in the Final Battle). I want to see Hackett address the fleets after victory, or sucumb to the Reapers in defeat. I want to see Liara and Shepard embracing each other, or Liara staring at a picture of me. CONSEQUENCES AND REPERCUSSIONS.
This is a phenomenal game, just NEEDS a better ending that makes sense.

Also, while I'm all for allowing tragic ends, PLEASE allow us to also have a "happy" ending (ie Shepard lives and is able to live on with his LI). I want my little blue babies.
EDIT: Oh and don't destroy the Mass Relays (and also preferably the citadel), as these are key to the world of Mass Effect. Without them this epic and incredible world we've all come to love just falls apart.

At the very least:
A) give me some more exposition into the Catalyst and its motivations instead of just blindsiding us with "here I am, here's what I do, now make your choice".
C) what was the Normandy doing anyway?
D) give me just a little taste of how the galaxy progressed after I made my choice. You don't have to go into full details if you wanna flesh that out more appropriately in a sequel, just gimme something other than an inferred holocaust.
And above all: get rid of that "Shepard becomes legend, so play the game again and buy more stuff to build that legend" abomination after the credits.

You do not need to overhaul the ending but you need to do something. Your fan reviews and the general positive outlook of the game will go up if you act, if not the game's reputation will decline. The entire trilogy may become soured by the ending of ME3. It is not fair but it will likely happen.

Interviewer: [Regarding the numerous possible endings of Mass Effect 2] “Is that
same type of complexity built into the ending of Mass Effect 3?”
Hudson: “Yeah, and I’d say much more so, because we have the ability to
build the endings out in a way that we don’t have to worry about
eventually tying them back together somewhere. This story arc is
coming to an end with this game. That means the endings can be a lot
more different. At this point we’re taking into account so many
decisions that you’ve made as a player and reflecting a lot of that
stuff. It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings,
where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got
ending A, B, or C.....The endings have a lot more sophistication and
variety in them.”

Go with the indoctrination theory. Make it so we face off with Harbinger for real this time. And make the crucible a realistic construct some sort of blast that weakens the Reapers. This allows us to use our EMS to determine how the rest plays out. This would be perfect
This is exactly what I want.
They should just take the Indoctrination theory and run with it at this point.
This allows them to keep ALL current content but just add on to after Shep takes a breath.
Then we can go on to beat the Reapers in actual Mass Effect style.

I want the chance to see Shepard and Tali happy together. Building their house on Rannoch would be awesome, but just seeing them reunited after the "ending" and making it clear they can settle down together is all I really want.
I don't want Omega DLC, I don't want Multiplayer DLC. Not until the fans get a chance to see their Shepard and his/her Love Interest truly find happiness. Happiness that lasts AFTER using the Crucible
This is what I expected after buying all three games. It's all I want.

genuine good ending without the destruction of the relays
genuine bad ending were Reapers complete task
squadmate Grunt
more side missions
bigger club
I know thats alot but thats just what I feel would be good. Even if you only do a few, just make the games matter, with a bright ending.

All of this revolves around the ending.
Post ending
Shepard somehow lives(or is brought back by a higher power) and has to use an experimental form of FTL travel to find his crew. Explore the galaxy he has created through his decision, fight warlords trying to carve out their own stake in the evolving galactic order, or people who are angry with Shepard's decision (Cerberus remnants who are angry he destroyed the Reapers, Terra Firma people who don't like being half-Synthetic, etc). Full on Broken Steel. Shepard is key, however you bring him back. Mass Effect version of the Orlesian Warden does not appeal.
Alt ending
Indoctrination theory, I guess. Defeat the Reapers in a more conventional manner. Or just add in a 4th option where we can reject Star Child's logic and use the fleet we beat the Reapers; the plot of ME3 was building an alliance to defeat the Reapers, not looking for Star Child so we could make a deal with him.
Pre-Ending
You can probably guess this, but nothing appeals to me with the end in its current state. At least add a 4th option to reject Star Child's logic, save Shepard, and use the fleet to win in a more traditional manner, maybe fight Harbinger over the Catalyst's chamber, and I'll buy whatever pre-ending DLC you want.

if you are gathering info solely about what fans would like to see ending-wise, I will try to keep it brief:
-Shepard breathing at the end. Is this him on earth or on the citadel or what? Is it even shepard?
-How did my squad from the final mission get teleported to the normandy, through a relay, and how did Joker know to leave?
-Was the normandy just insanely lucky to come out of FTL/hyperspace/whatever beside a habitable planet or was Joker intentionally heading to a nearby habitable planet?
-What is the extent of the technological destruction? Just the relays? Or ALL tech based on reaper technology? Is everyone stuck in the system they were in? What about people on ships and the citadel?
-Or was all of the above a hallucination and indoctrination theory is true?
-I like the ideas being thrown around about their being a 4th choice that is essentially "No." and you let your war assets do their work. If you played a perfect game (5k+ EMS) maybe you conventionally destroy the reapers by the skin of your teeth at huge sacrifice, but the main benefit would be to see your previous work pay off in cinematic form. Krogan and Turian fighting together on earth's surface. Geth ships fighting alongside, maybe sacrificing themselves to save Quarian ships, Jack and her biotic students saving a group of marines with biotic barriers, etc. etc....it would have made an awesome montage.
-Maybe if you chose "No" and lose, your payoff is seeing a small scene of Glyph on a remote planet, uploading the very final bits of data to Liara's time capsule... fades out to black.... fades back up "FIFTY THOUSAND YEARS LATER" and you see some weird alien hand dusting off the time capsule. Holy crap that woulda been cool.
The holes here wouldn't even bother me as much if there was more closure with the characters. I think its easy to compare Battlestar Galactica's ending with ME3: Lots of unexplained things at the end, losing technology, merging synethetic and organic life.
Yet the ending to BSG did not leave me unsatisfied because there was closure with all the main characters in those final scenes on Earth. I felt good about the characters so the long list of plot holes and contrivances didn't even bother me. With ME3 I felt I had no closure at all w/ the characters I spent 3 games with. All I saw was a couple of them step off the normandy and thats it! Weirdly enough Joker and Edi (if you chose synthesis) got the best closure at the end. They definitely deserve it but I think there's more major characters like my bro Garrus.
I did feel some closure with Wrex and curing the genophage, however he did come to earth....is he stuck there now, never able to see his dreams for the Krogan race come true? Even if he is, it would have been cool to see that. Obviously Mordin and Thane had full closure...but for squaddies that are still alive...not really, for me anyway.
Stuff I liked re: characters:
-Being able to say last words to everyone at the end, including people over the holo. Maybe this was intended to be your closure? It definitely did help I love that stuff...maybe I am just greedy for wanting MOAR
-Liara's time capsule, Garrus shooting bottles on top of citadel, and all equivalent scenes for other characters. Those were like 100% fan service, you guys rock
-Mordin and Thanes deaths. Someone stop cutting onions please. The acting in Thane's death, both vocal and animations wise, is probably the best I've seen in a video game. See here.
-Being able to explore the normandy and citadel after every mission and seeing squaddies in new places with new dialogue. So awesome. My only beef is the robotic dog didn't have an option to follow me around the normandy EVERYWHERE I went
-A lot of people complained about this aspect, but I liked that it didnt always go into a full dialogue sequence when you talked to people. If they only got 1 or 2 new things to say theres really no need to navigate all the stuff you've already heard multiple times. There was still plenty of classic dialogue IMO.
-Gameplay hugely improved overall from ME2
-Pretty much all the environments make me stop and admire them
Amazing game, just not satisfied with ending.

Alright then, here we go:
1) I would have loved to see more of the characters from ME2 in the game, either in cutscenes in the final battles or as full-fledged squadmates. You created some great storylines in 2 (Jack, to mention only one) and I would have enjoyedto see the characters I have come to love take a more active stance. Great job on the resolution to the Thane and Mordin storylines, though.
2)The ending. The way it is resolved is absolutely out of character for Shepard. Whether Paragon or Renegade, Shepard would not take all of this lying down. No, not even as wounded as s/he is. S/He would interrupt the AI-child and try to find another solution that does not involve genocide, an obvious trap or the genetic violation of all life in the galaxy. Give me the opportunity to play the Shepard I ran through three games. One other option could be, for example, to sacrifice him/herself by giving the coordinates of the Catalyst to the fleet so they could bomb it into oblivion. If the Catalyst controls the Reapers, the sudden lack of direction and control could confuse them long enough to be taken out conventionally.
3) Fill the plot holes: In Arrival, we learned that an exploding Mass Relay takes out a star system. So what does it mean that we cured the genophage? Tuchanka is dust and rubble according to the universe's inner logic. Also, explain why Joker is fleeing and how your squadmates got on board.
4) Conclude the game on more than just a vague hint. You know, i could have lived with the ending if you simply included one or two small scenes of either Shepard's descendants or a bunch of multi-species scientists building the prototype of a mass relay. It would not have been perfect but I could have lived with it.
5) For the love of God, do not let this be another PR stunt just trying to get us to calm down. Really. We gave you our continuing support over many years, you got our money, which is the basis for your corporation existing at all. We deserve better than to be fed empty phrases. We deserve to be heard. We are not stupid. And our concerns are legit. Or why else would we be in the majority? I just beg you to show us some respect. We, your paying customers, deserve at least that.

If Starkid is here to stay, his character could be immensely improved by making him a reflection of Shepard, and not an exposition-gun through which to attempt to explain the motives of the Reapers (who didn't really need an explanation to begin with, given their "force of nature" vibe). If the window-dressing of the technicolor explosions were dropped and the focus of that conversation were shifted to exploring Shepard as a character in and of himself, it might just work.
Of course, it still wouldn't work all that well without an epilogue and a wider variation of possible endings (including at least one "perfect ending" to make playing through the game again worthwhile.) Honestly, I don't think decisions were necessary at the eleventh hour. When the Crucible was ready to fire, the time for decision-making was over, and it was time to see what the results were. Any big choices beyond that moment seem insincere, and carry a high risk of seemingly invalidating all of the decisions that came before them.
