So don't QQ about and do something about it. Its 'boring' when you're just lobbing ball after ball at a group but I try to ricochet shots against walls at enemies on the other side for the fun of it.
Looks like someone just learned what QQ means and feels like using it in every post.

QQ lower the dmg of Vanguards in bronze!

If I had to pick between "true" assault rifles either the saber or geth pulse rifle.

Second only to the Falcon.

Falcon, because it is as non-AR as yoou can get. And its good.
Then, MAYBE Mattock. Because it is more like a single shot rifle.
Sabre is fun, but actually bad. Aim for the head. Use everything with it you've got, like weapon upgrades, powers, etc. I do love how models fly away from you.
If you want machine gun like shooty, a leveled Avenger or Phaeston. Recommend you use a Turian soldier with marksmanship for these.
There are a lot of bad ARs. Geth Pulse Rifle and Vindicator come to mind. Striker, also fun, and plenty bad. If fun is your thing, just go for it and don't worry. But if you want to do high damage, look for another weapon.

+1
Yes, sadly it's often times more practical to use a heavy pistol (like a Carni) than an AR. I was also playing with someone from the group last night and they mentioned that suppressing fire doesn't really seem to suppress.
Much of the point of a high ROF weapon is to make the enemy duck for cover and pin them down. The enemy AI doesn't really seem to work that way though. Higher ROF doesn't really suppress more than lower ROF. Being able to stagger is pretty much the main way to buy yourself some time.

But the Phaseton with a scope and some sort of dmg mod works great with a bunch of classes if you want lots of headshot kills. If you zoom in and sort of hose the body of an enemy with bullets and at the last couple of secs before their red bar poots out you nick 'em in the face it counts as a headshot. It's really good for those players that drink beer and get sloppy as the waves go by

Falcon is the best, and there is nothing even remotely close to it.
Wrong. Striker does better overall dps, is less prone to ghost shots, and also does stagger to boot. The only advantage in a host based situation that the falcon has is a larger stagger radius and is more lenient on ammo usage, which becomes moot if you're the host and can afford to saturate an area.
Use the Striker in hip fire or covered-no-scope on elevated terrain with a geth engineer with the same amps you'd stick on a Falcon and your score will easily double. The Falcon has crowd stagger, which becomes redundant if you have strong enough amps to make the crowd dead in a much shorter time, and better ammo usage, which is also made redundant if you have packs or a small map, which lends itself to the Striker even better as you can saturate an enemy spawn with impunity.

For power-based classes who like rifles but want to keep their cooldown as low as possible, then Avenger X is the only way to go.

Phaeston and Geth Pulse Rifle are my favorites, but if I could get my Revenant upgraded past level 2, I might go back to it.macrocarl wrote...
I only play on Bronze, so take this with a bronze colored grain of salt:

I mod mine pretty much the same way you do.

I do have a soft spot for the Revenant, but has nothing to do with how effective it is. I just find it fun, and love how ammo is never an issue. But I generally don't play classes that can make the best use of it. And it weighs too much for the ones I do play.

Revenant- Semi crowd control (the accuracy spread can be used for this), great damage/clip size
Saber- Great Assault/Sniper rifle hybrid
Mattock- Decent damage, Accurate fire
Vidicator- Broken because it does more damage than higher weight rifles? Good damage/acc
All other assault rifles are sub par compared to a Tempest. I don't even play with people who use the geth rifle. Even with Targeting VI-Marksman with headshot boost- APR ammo III- Warped with Rank 5 expose, rank 6 pierce, its COMPLETE TRASH on anything with armor. Anyone who says otherwise either aren't playing on gold or are to busy "having fun" to notice how TRASH the gun is.

I wouldn't recommend scope. Besides not needing it, how could that not hurt your face when you fired?
