Might be very strange question, but if there was an ammo power that just added damage to shields/barriers/armor/health and penetrated a little, and stunned enemies, and had area of effect. but not much, like maybe 30% effectivness of all specialized ammo powers. Would you pick this ammo power, or would you stick with the original ones for bigger bonuses against particular types?
If there was a universal ammo power.

I guess I'd go for the better CC effect against enemies again, if I'm considering between ammo powers. Damage boost is still icing on the cake for me at this point.

Nope, switching ammo powers has no cooldown, so there's no reason to use a generic ammo power when you have more powerful specialized types available.

It doesn't have a "cooldown" but it still takes about a shot or two's time to activate the next ammo power. Honestly it's the reason I use Warp Ammo, solid damage to all above health variants, and solid damage increase for having to include a character that can put people in the air.

Since you don't spend all of your time out of cover, taking a second or two to switch ammo types is well worth it--the opportunity cost is almost zero.
