Hi,
I stumbled upon something weird today (PC version).
I have finished this game with two different characters already, and during both playthroughs, the blood dragon armor chest piece had the following stats:
+ 3 str
+ 3 wp
+ 3 armor
+50 health
-10% fatigue
Today I was going through my third character, and when he finally got enough strength to wear the armor i noticed the stats had dropped to:
+ 6 defense
+30 health
I tried reloading my old saves and the armor retains its good stats there, but any new character I create gets the new lower stat version.
Any comments?

That is probably because you do not have the full armour equipped. If one were to have the full set of armour equipped, one would have the better bonus stats I believe. I apoligise if I am incorrect.

No, this is wrong. I don't know what would cause that bug, but you don't need full suit to get the bonuses mentioned.

No, the actual description of the armor is different. If I load any of my old saves I have the more powerful version, in any new one I get the watered down version.

Try disabling and reenabling the armor under your DLC menu. That might help.

Are you using any mods? I'm guessing they could affect the stats in such a way.

I am not using any mods.
Tried enabling/disabling but didn't change anything.
Can anyone else try creating a new character and check the stats of the armor please?

I've yet to download any of the DLC and you know what I am not going to. As I peruse through the different topics in this forum I see enough concerns regarding the DLC to not want any of it. I am many hours into the game and it is going well. I will not mess with what is working.

Started a new game, and I don't seem to be having any issues with the armor. I don't know what to tell you.

I tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling and I still get the +6 defense, +30 hp version.
Seems like my downloadable content is downloading the wrong version

Try opening the DAO Launcher, going into configuration, then the repair menu, then click Clear Download Cache.
If the armors pulling its wrong information from the cache, this should fix it.

I did a clean install in another computer and I still get the wrong version. Seems that somehow my account got confused and is giving me the ps3 version (I think they are the ones that got the lower stats one).
At this point I think only someone from Bioware can solve the issue.

Maybe download the armor here. install it via daupdater. I don't know if it helps but, it's worth a try.

Delete the old install before you install the file.

Narrsan, have you by chance installed the "FIX: Blood Dragon Armor - Female Elf" mentioned in another thread?
I doubt this is the source of the problem as I have installed the game again in a new computer and it remains, but is worth checking.

Speaking of the fix, did they actually update the file new users download to include the fix? That could explain why your new PC also gets a different piece of armor.
I'm not at home now so I can't check for myself

What's the given date for the DLC under the Installed tab?
Someone surmised that BioWare may have nerfed the armour rather clandestinely.

The date listed in my game is 18/11/09.
If it was nerfed I would like to at least be notified of such change.

18/11 really does sound like a changed/updated version, as mentioned I can't check the date on my install right now but it can't be any later than 7/11 as that's when I grabbed the DLC.

18th? That's definitely a new version. Mine is still 03/11/09. Perhaps you can still manually reinstall the old version.

I wonder if the "FIX: Blood Dragon Armor - Female Elf" fix modified my account to somehow to use a different version...

I don't think it's your account.
What I think is it's the fix changing the stats and the file the game downloads has been updated to already include the fix. At least that'd make sense compairing your file from the 18th to the one Sensory mentioned that's from the 3rd. You can try uninstalling the DLC and manually installing the old file Sensory linked above. Of course that gives you the bug on female elves...

Thanks Sensory, your version works well and I get the nicer version again.
Now only remains to find out why my game downloads a newer version.

Nope, hadn't even heard of it until now.

That is indeed strange as to why it would do that by itself, and why you're able to have both versions at the same time on different save games.Anxarcule wrote...
