9/10. There are still problems with the game: Thane and Jacob's romance shenanigans are the most glaring, the journal is far less helpful than in previous iterations (tracking each quest step would be nice) and the tutorial is very spartan. But other than that, it's pretty good.

A- , the only mark against so far being there due to the face import issue. This is the part where Future Me bursts out of the Time Sphere in my apartment, destroys my copy of Mass Effect 3 and shouts "Your Welcome!" before being swallowed back up by the Space Time continuum.
ROFLMAO! God I wish my future me would have done that!

I can't, I've already seen the ending. I will say I was very much enjoying myself; until the ball was dropped at the most important part. Now I am jaded by that horrible experience, and the whole game is ruined for me.

10/10.
Or, using the rating system I prefer, an A++. Better than just a perfect score, the game goes an extra mile and gets bonus points.
Factoring in the end...
5/10. It also retroactively knocked the first two games down several points.

The game's strength lies on its presentation. The voice acting aside from Chobot is amazing. The soundtrack fits the tone well and there are a few standout tracks. Gameplay is not particularly spectacular, though very solid and satisfying. Story cliches are present here and there, and difficult to overlook considering this is a story centric video game. Some romances are just flat out poorly written. Occasional frame rate drops in cutscenes are observed.

11/10 easily w/o the endings. GOTY minus the endings. Laughing stock of the gaming community with the endings.

I freakin love Mass Effect. Best Sci-Fi franchise ever.
Ending: 0/10
It ruined the story and the whole universe. I still can't believe it.

The absolute best game I've played since Knights of the Old Republic and a serious contender against Golden Sun for my favorite game of all time. Everything was masterfully done, the Geth and Quarians, the genophage, Mordin... everything. Except Chobot, that was dumb. But also easily avoided.
I laughed at the reporter finally catching on that you're going to punch her. I cried at Mordin sacrificing himself for the Krogan. It brought back Serenity memories, "I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I-" I loved the Jesus parallels with Legion and the Geth. I was in awe at the London mission, charging down that ramp only to be blasted by Harbinger... that was great.
Even TIM shooting himself, I loved the parallels with the first Mass Effect. The whole game was fantastic up until then. Then, someone decided to outsource the ending to a 4th grader.

9/10 without the ending.
Minus the ending, the game is phenomenal. Mordin's scene (and the variations of it) definitely ranks amongst my favorite gaming moments.
The diminished roles of the Mass Effect 2 crewmates hurt the game for me however, particularly in the reduced role for Miranda and the other LI's.
3/10 for just the ending, however.
I didn't have an issue with the choices given, but instead with the extent in which the endings recycled and lacked any real personal impact or reflection upon my choices in game.

I'd give it a solid 8.5/10 or 9/10, not counting the ending. Some things here and there were annoying. Scenes were the camera was focused on empty space where a character should be while they're talking, the Elcor sidequest you can pick up and it's then already completed, jerky transitions between animations during conversation, that sort of thing.

I'll have to agree with the 9.5/10. It really was a fantastic game and the only things keeping me from giving it a perfect score were the occasional bugs (quests not completing properly, some characters not showing up during their dialogue scene) and Tali's stock picture.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing it and cried numerous times as my space-bros kept dying. I was seriously invested in the game and its characters; the sharp emotional drop from the awesomeness of Rannoch to what happened on Thessia made me want to curl up in my chair and die. For it to be so ruined by the ending is an injustice and makes me sick.

the FPS engine was really primitive and subar compared to everything else on the market. Heck, my first thought was that delta force from like over 10 years ago had a better FPS engine.
the mini-games (in this case scanning) were tedious and annoying. Figure out which system needed scanning, scan twice before the reapers came, then turn in at the citadel. Novel for the first 5-10 times, then seriously offputting. About the same as every mini-game in the series.
character interaction was okay compared to the other series, but could have been greatly expanded.
Really the story was what carried this game, and in the end it was butchered. So, just looking at the other factors in isolation, 3/10.
edit: oh, let me add graphics. Decent, but not state of the art. I have a pc, not a console, and this was not taken advantage of.

Although I had issues with some other aspects of the game (weird technical issues, the Crucible being out of the blue, etc), the fact is that without the ending, this was easily one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life. Not only that, it's the only one to come close to making (and eventually succeeding at making) me tear up. Without the ending, it's an easy 10/10, A+, or or whatever grading scale you want to use. Heck, it could even go to 11. But that ending...five minutes, Bioware. You had to keep it going for five minutes.

10/10 when, after watching the ending for the first time, I actually thought it was a masterful attempt by Bioware to troll us with an indoctrination ending, to be later rectified.
Now, learning that it was intentional and not an attempt to troll us but a legitimate ending, 1/10

Solid 9.5
Missed my exploring and the corner cutting scanning and not being able to explore like a single planet, also interaction with Ash was lacking. Incredibly powerful game though.
With the ending? - probably a 4. That'd be my rating for the overall package, and I genuinely feel the ending did that much damage. It corrupted and nullified the point of all the greatness of the game.

Cliches, forced moments, writing failures and glitches took off two points.
