 8/10

Cliches, forced moments, writing failures and glitches took off two points.

Yep. The score is great and the game is exciting, but I can't believe people think it's perfect. It has as many flaws as any other ME game, maybe more.

While we're on it, how about the fact that they said they were working on vehicle stuff similar to that of later DLC, but instead we got a couple weird turret mini-games that barely fit.

9/10. Mainly because of ME2.

I cant help but compare it to ME2. And there are some things ME3 does not live up to that ME2 did well.

The journal in ME3 is bad. The multiplayer effected single player campaign is bad. There seems to be less conversation wheel, and less opportunity for different responses, such as Renegade, Paragon, and Neutral.

Lack of hubs. a few bugs here and there. The side quests being just go here and scan for the object.

However the game is far more dynamic, feels far more alive than the previous two. The crew talking to each other all the time, actually moving about the ship, I cant just go to their spot to talk. One mission, Garrus is in the battery, the next, he is found in the lounge. Seeing the crew spread out in the Citidel. Great stuff. some great missions. But it is just not quite the total package ME2 was (which I still conisder the greatest game ever made.)

The endings taint that entire legacy.

without the ending.....

but with the glitches and animation goofs...a few goofy fetch/grab quest issues... all forgivable. so..

10!!!!! TEN!!!

pure epicness on a scale i have never played before!!! put together so well. the story and the action work like peanut butter and chocolate!!!! some of the scenes just rip at you. you really care more about the characters than you ever did before. I just wish a few of them had more screen time and/or we could do a side mission or two more...but that is what dlc and expansions are for.

so without the ending....BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED!!!

8.5/10. Not as many side quests as I'd have liked, and when you look at it there actually wasn't very much dialogue with the characters like in previous games. How many actual "conversations" did we have with Ashley and Tali for example. Combat's the best it's ever been, the story is VERY strong in the majority of the game, (I man-teared a few times :'( ). Multiplayer is a fine distraction. Needed more emphasis on the LI's too. The writing for the most part is WONDERFUL, few things I would have changed.

Overall it was worth my time. Most of it...

In all Honesty about 9/10 The game was wonderful and better than most RPGs on the market right now, I especially enjoyed the crew conversations. Each character felt comfortable and almost never forced. I did not object to Cortez being openly gay, but I feel there was not enough development in his persona beyond "I miss my husband...that's all...no really...ok, also cars?"

However The Quest objectives in the journal, and the lack of flags on the planets was a very big problem for me. The combat system while good, has a small issue with taking cover in some areas. I did enjoy heavy Melee as a side note here. The only other issue i can think of right now is having to move the camera just right to inspect anything with a red circle on it.

The series shows great growth from 1->2->3 overall I would rank it a 10/10. On its own ME3 has some refinement problems that, while able to work around can be frustrating. It's worth noting for a fan of the series the ride is more than enough to ignore those relatively small issues.

10/10 without. The game was my favourite so far.

6/10 with the ending. Still a great game, but the endings ruin the trilogy.

bought it thinking it was an RPG
I got a Gears of War with a decent story

Yes, i know people are sick of hearing this but the series deviated too far from it's roots. I know ME1 wasn't a perfect rpg experience either, but it was better than the other ones in the role playing department. I thought ME3 might fix some of the concerns i had about the 2nd game but i was wrong. It's just a shooter with dialogue choices and "decent" story at best. The characters are the only redeeming part of the series but even that got botched in ME3. I think the bad endings made the rest of game seem good in comparasion. Maybe that's why it's being rated so well.

8.8/10 Auto dialogue was very annoying. Dialogue in general needs to be deeper. I really missed squad member side quests. Romances need to be more involved, pretty much anyone that didn't choose Liara got screwed. Tali's picture was terrible. Only 7 squad members(with DLC). I was really hoping to go to Palaven. Side quests are annoying, the fetch quests really could have been better. I would have loved to actually land on the planet. Only 1 hub world. But that is every single thing that I disliked in the ENTIRE game. So all in all (MINUS THE ENDING) It was good.

One thing off for Tali's face and half a point for some other weird graphical issues (the eyes of the Collector Armor/some of EDI).

Should be easy - the game didn't really have an ending now, did it?

In all seriousness, it's easily a 9/10 for me. The journal thing bugged me and the beginning felt slow - I also didn't like the boss fights with Kai Leng all that much either. Overall though, it was a blast to play and experience.

I experienced a lot of glitches and bugs (the one that made me angry the most was my inability to finish the Hanar Diplomat mission). If not for the bugs, I would give a 9/10

I missed the conversation trees. They seemed to have streamlined a lot of the conversations to just hit the red circle and listen. The trees were sometimes not that deep or repetitive but it was nice to have the illusion of choice or to go back and ask the character to repeat themselves in case you missed a detail on the first listen.

Ending was a let down though. It felt like none of my choices mattered.

8.5 or 9. Game still has some problems, both on the content and technical side, but it's still great.

I feel opposite. The conversation felt more fluid and real rather than a stop in convo after every line. Wwe still got to choose how the convo went but I was  happy with it.

One point off for the abomination of Tali they put on my desk and of course that God awful quest tracker. Other then that it was one of the best games I've ever played.
8/10 overall, One additional point for the ending.

8.3, a host of bad design choices and glitches lowered the score, along with a few story elements such as the rachnis lack of impact. If they fixed some of those it would easily of been a 9 maybe a 9.5 if I was feeling generous. With the ending, I'd say 7. The game was still very good but the ending made much of it irrelevant; story wise of course.

I would have to say after going through a couple of playthroughs, even without the ending, I would have to rate ME3 at a solid 9/10. The lack of RPG elements (despite statements to the contrary pre-release) as well as lowering dialogue choices and various other story plots that just never paid off like they should (or were just plain bad), brought it down to that level. However I have given precious few games a 10/10 I'm incredibly hard to please, and a 10/10 would be a perfect game.

Imagine yourself before you finished the game.  Let's say, you took a break right after firing the second missile launcher at the Reaper Destroyer in London, and that's all you knew about the game.  What would you have rated Mass Effect 3 at that point out of 10, with 10 being Perfect?

For me, I would have given this game a 9 at that point.  I would have liked a little more "RPG" in my shooter, and there were a few minor graphical hiccups in conversations, but up to that point in the game I was having an absolute blast.  I helped some old friends out, even a few to have "good deaths", and I worked my butt off the bring the largest fleet in 50,000 years to bear on my enemy.

Personally, the scene where the fleet arrives and the space battle began was freak'n epic.  I quite enjoyed the street fighting to get to the "end", too.

NOW, rate just the Ending.  There's only one Ending.  Now matter how they try to spin it, it really is just the one.

0/10.  The ending honestly ruined the entire series.  I don't have to go into the details.  They've been covered.  Had they just ended it at the TIM encounter, and then given you an ending crafted from your choices, with a DA:O wrap up for your friends and the galaxy as a whole, I would have walked away happy.  Hell, I'd have imported my next ME2 save and immediately started playing again.  But, I just can't now.  I HATE this ending that much.

Even without the endings I think I can only give it maybe an 8/10, simply for all of the missed opportunities with the choices that we made in the previous games.

8 out of 10, a great game but a 'comfortable' one that doesn't break too much new ground from ME2. Seems streamlined in many regards (particularly the planetary expeditions which I still miss), but really more of the same from ME2, yet with a heavier emphasis on FPS and less on dialogue choice and RPG elements. That doesn't matter to me too much though, happy with FPS and the relationships between squad-mates was developed well. The cover system still feels a little clumsy, but can't argue with the fact that combat feels more dynamic (seemed to have lots more opportunity to flank enemies, more tactical). Still hate thermal clips, sorry but ME1 had this nailed. Feels shorter, but I think that's because I played ME2 through with the DLC which added more time from my perspective.

I have lost any respect for all those 'professional' reviewers who have given this game 10 out of 10 straight out of the gate. NO game is perfect, and there are some who should be extremely embarrassed about this. Having said that, the entire Mass Effect trilogy (even accounting for the ending in ME3) deserves 9+, and it gets a place alongside my all time favorite sci-fi game System Shock 2.
