The best game I have ever played. It even topped OoT, which I tought would always stand at the top. 11/10.

I would say 8/10.

The new Journal was awful and the side-quest fetch missions lacked... well, pretty much everything a decent side-quest should but the main missions and character moments were some of the best in the series.

Not just the action either, it was the quieter scenes such as Tali realizing that she had a homeworld again but was still going to leave it to come with you.

Garrus and Shepard spending the day literally shooting the sh*t on the Citadel.

Liara's Time Capsule and her goodbye.

Pretty much EDI's entire storyline.

80% of Mass Effect is brilliant, engaging and extremely emotional and that's why that other 20% (less if I let go of the side-quest and Journal disappointment) feels like I've just been punched in the guts.

How does that equal an 8/10 then? If parts of it were so terrible.

If it wasn't for the ending, it would have been a masterpiece.

9/10. Loses a bit for the autodialogue, lack of hub worlds, ME2 squadmates and the broken journal, but overall it's magnificent, a truly amazing game.

Endings get 0/10. I hate everything about them.

Although if the indoctrination theory gets made canon, and we get a real set of varied endings set after Shepard snaps out of it, then I'd actually like it.

Oh, I'd also give multiplayer 9/10. It's totally rad to the max. Yo.

 9.9/10

Some bugs really pissed me off (can be easily corrected), but apart from that, a perfect game to me.

Dude, without that ending it's nigh on perfect. Some awkward animations sometimes (Anderson running really took me out of the moment there at the start XD ) but other than that it's brilliant. The ending drags it down, but without that I would gladly give it anywhere between a 9.5 and a 10.

9/10, it was a great experience with a few minor issues here and there, but even then it was one of the best games I've ever played.
Then the ending happened, and kinda dragged it down to a 3, but then I thought about it some more and realized it wasn't the horrible abomination I first thought, and I could accept the fact that it was just a really bitter ending. But that still doesn't change the fact that it was pulled off very badly with a lot of nonsensical parts...
In the end it is maybe a 5/10, a really great experience, but with a very disappointing conclusion.

Without? 9.7/10.

Cons:
-The Journal isn't very helpful.
-Player can get stuck between three NPCs or two NPCs and an object. (minor, but still annoying)
-Only problem with some of the romance scenes is lack of nudity. Its sex. We're humans. The game is rated M. Kids shouldn't even be playing ME3 if its M. Its okay to show nakedness.
-No Kassa Locust? That was my favorite weapon.

Other than that, everything else was amazing.

9.5/10.

Aside from a few boring side-quests and occasionally rushed narrative the game was pretty much perfect.

Also since no game can ever get a 10 and should ever get a 10, we can probably ignore every single 10 or above rating in this thread, since that doesn't even make sense.

Your ego is 11/10 sir.

Story is good, game play is good, voice actors are good.
Why the hell can't I give it 10/10?

Without the ending, i'd give it 9/10. The journal was buggy and lacked the sub-entries so we could actually track progress. Scanning for "War assets" was just as unusable without some way of tracking what we did. The improvements to combat and weapon upgrades were fantastic, however.

With the ending, I'm pretty sure BioWare owes me a few stars back.

I agree with this completely, i was so tempted to play all three games one more time but the ending of three sucked that right out of me like that video Hitler Retakes Mass Effect 3 -_-

The bulk of the game was very enjoyable for me. Story wise, lots of funny moments but not enough that it detracted from the main story. A fair number of things being wrapped up or brought to a conclusion, i.e. like Thane dying and Mordin sacraficing himself and his line "someone else might get it wrong" though sad still gave me a me wry smile. Combat generally improved over the series which actually makes it hard for me to go back to ME1 or even ME2.
Customisation of weapons was a nice thing. Varity of weapons was odd tho, as at the end of the game I was pretty much still using the stock weapons abet upgraded tho.

Overall I would give the game a great rating, maybe a 8/10 as there were niggling things that irriated me, like Diana Allers, a complete waste of space and didn't really add to the whole, Oh we're in a load of deep %^& feel. If I was in her shoes, I would have got a gun, rocket launcher and started to fight for the survival of my race not %&$dy reporting on it. Then there's the whole from the ashes DLC, imho it should have been part of the base game. There's too much background info on the prothean race and their fight there to be missing from the base game and thus feels like a money grab by EA. If it wasn't for these kind of things then it would be a perfect game.

The ending, I actually enjoyed, but doesn't mean I neccessarily liked it. It's like watching a Chinese drama movie which my cousin refuses to go watch. Why? because he hates sad endings. You walk away from the movie depressed. That's kinda the problem with ME3, the ending is sad in a way. And this is a cultural thing. The reason I mention the chinese movies is culturally it's acceptable to have a sad ending to a film. However in the world of Holywood and most western cultures, it's not quite the same. Sad movies don't always work without very good justification. Which although ME3 is not a movie, same principles applied. The justification for the sad ending isn't really there. It's kinda like building up all the emotion to the end and then ran out of steam

I'm reluctant to bash the crap out of Bioware over the ending because in their last two games (ME3 and DA2) they have tried different things in many ways have backfired on them. The reason is simple, I don't want to be playing DOOM version 153674127 which is no different from Doom 1 or 2 but with better graphics. I want innovative gameplay. In fact I say Kudos to them for trying something different, but they could have done a bit more research into how their target audience would have reacted to potential endings.

Parts of the endings make me think it was rushed.

- Some things felt really rushed.
- Lots of autodialogue.
- Lack of conversation options.
- ME2 Squad sidelined.
- Lack of some of my war assets in the final assault.
- Choices throughout the games didn't really have large effects.

You spend about an EST 25 or more hours building up assets which is the primary point of the game for the longest period, once you get to the final mission (though you have hints before that) you realize that your assets have been replaced by a non-technologically compatible generic army and fleet that dies no matter what

You basically get trolled by the game.

Then you get an ending which REALLY shows that your choices both do no matter and that you wasted time doing nothing, sure maybe wasting time was fun, but it had no actual purpose and since it is discounted it also discounts your experiences. What's the point of getting a Geth army if it never gets factored in? Sorry but no.

Then you see the entirety of the game has this error and you realize that had you turned in an incomplete essay with sentences missing throughout the entirety of the paper which you only realized were missing after you got to the near end (because it didn't make sense), then you'd get an F, or you'd get an INCOMPLETE and be forced to do it over again before you even get a grade.

Incomplete games DO NOT get good ratings.

to little dialog options, to little character development during me3.
most characters felt like kasumi or zaeed in me2.
my LI saying nothing but hi shepard thuout the game is Really lazy writing.

there were some great moments of characters. but inbetween those moments the game was lacking so in story about the characters its a huge letdown.
coudlnt even talk with ashley about what she did when we were apart in me2 period LOL
sidemission and mission list(codex) was so halfassed together its ridiculous how
you didnt sometimes know were a sidemission came from.

i miss drew's writing, me1 10/10 me2 8/10 me3 5/10ous howr:

10 for almost everything
- 0.5 for the messy quest inventory, for the cheap Tali's face solution, and for 3 or 4 freezes and bugs that I experienced during my playthrough
