First of all, I'm just going to apologize if this problem has been solved somewhere else.

But anyway, a few days ago I was playing ME2 for quite a few hours straight when a loading screen froze, I let it sit for a while, but it didn't fix itself, so I turned off the PlayStation, and turned it back on, opened up ME2, and hit resume, it started loading and then froze again. Repeated that, but went to the load game option in the menu. I have 3 save files, an autosave and a restart mission both at about 45 or so hours, my third one, is manual save, at about 10 hours (the autosave feature has gotten me out of the habit of saving myself whenever I quit). The game always freezes while loading the 45 hour ones, but it will open the 10 hour save without a problem. I've looked anywhere I can think of and can't find anything that says that the file is corrupted or anything.

Things I've tried: waited a couple days, and tried loading again
Started a new game and tried loading from there
And lastly something I found on here: I copied my file to a different profile on my playstation, deleted it on my profile, then copied it back and tried loading it again

Anyone have any other ideas?

I've started having a similar problem last night. Long gaming session, froze at loading screen, reset. However my file does load but freezes again at the next loading screen. Haven't tried with my other saves yet since I'm not sure yet if its the game or my system. Trying to determine that now. Question for you jetters0; when your screen freezes does part of it glitch and distort?

I just tried starting it up again right before posting, and as far as I can tell, there's no distortion or glitching on mine. The loading screen animations just freeze, and the loading screen music continues.

I was able to find out why mine was freezing and it had to do with were I was in the game. What was the last thing you did? For instance; I had done LoSB before recruiting Thane and Samara, then got Thane, and it froze during Samara's mission. Doing all that in that order is a known glitch, though normally you can't even start Samara's mission.

You might also want to try deleting the game data and re installing it. That has work for me in other games.

The last few story missions I did were recruiting Samara and boarding the Collector ship, and I was scanning planets before, between, and after those. I have yet to recruit Thane or do LotSB.

Also, I tried what you suggested with the deleting and reinstalling the game data, but the doesn't seem to have done anything.

Perhaps, there is something wrong with your Playstation 3 "database". Check this solution FAQ:

In reply to huynh2er, what you suggested did seem to speed up my Playstation a bit, but did absolutely nothing for my file.

I appreciate all your suggestions guys, and I thank you for them, but I think I'm just going to hang up the towel on this one, go back to the file that works and remember to save diligently.

I am stuck on the main resume/New Game/Load Game/Extras screen. You can see the screen and hear the background sounds, but nothing works. Restart completely and stuck again at same spot.

Anyone?
