For those playing Soldier on Insanity what did you have for your armor and what did you have for your bonus power?

Wearing all +damage armor, so totaled out to +50% damage. Bonus power: Marksman.

Just a suggestion, if you want to get some more damage in there and you got some good precision on you, you could in fact spec our your armor for 40% weapon damage boost and a 25% headshot boost if you go hahn kedar for chest and grieves then take armax arsenal for shoulders and arms with a delumcore overlay to top that all off. Keep in mind the delumcore overlay you get in priority cerberus headquarters, so you won't be able to play with this very much unless you do a new game plus

Tend to wear a combination of Armax and Hahne Kedar Armor for max body + headshot damage unless I decide to take out shotguns for a mission or two, then I switch to pure damage. As far as the helm goes i stick with the good ol' Kuwashii Visor. Compared to the Overlay, it gives 5% less damage and 5% more headshot damage.

Bonus Power: Depends on the gun I'm using for the most part, if its an AR or Shotgun then Marksman, otherwise, Stasis.

I went for the headshot options in armour. So, Kuwashii Visor, Hahne-Kedar chestpiece, Armax Arsenal shoulders, Armax Arsenal arms (for some reason makes the arm pattern colours washed out), and Hahne-kedar greaves. Though I'm looking at trying the Armax chestpiece as it has extra ammo and looks awesome (and ammo is hardly scarce most times)

Bonus power marksman with accuracy chosen since I persist in trying the Argus as my AR and with marksman and level V stabiliser it is almost accurate

i was poking arround with tech combos. i initially tried incendiary ammo with carnage but it was too much of a pain in the ass to get to work. i will try squad cryo with shatter and the apply your ammo to concusive shot power next.

if you are unsure what bonus power to take then defense matrix. you dont use it for the damage reduction, you just click it on and off to recover shields when you need to. i mean i guess you could also use it for the damage reduction, especially on a soldier who has little concern with cooldowns, but really it is all about shield recovery.

in practice though, the most powerful bonus power in the game is stasis. but once you take stasis you will for the most part no longer be playing a soldier. you will just be a stasis delivery vehicle with time slowdown.powers.

I wore full Serrice Council armor when I finished Insanity.

In total it gives +40% damage bonus to powers which was insanely beneficial to the Carnage bonus power.
If you want to take the extra step and use a visor for +10% power recharge/power damage its up to you, but I didn't consider those extra +10% to be significant enough to give up my N7 breather helmet.
Not sure if the damage bonus also applies to incendiary ammo or not.

If you picked your weapons and attachments carefully your default power recharge should be somewhere in the 150-80% range + power recharge upgrades that you find on random planets.

Pretty much all you really need is a lightweight assault rifle, powerful pistol and perhaps an SMG with fully upgraded ultralight materials as a backup in case you run out of ammo.

I was playing a shotgun soldier, so I went for most shields and shield regeneration to enhance survival (mostly Kassa parts and the Capacitor Helmet).
Adrenaline Rush for maximum damage and bonus power was Defense Matrix (deactivating is a nice panic button too, +70% shields instantly restored!).

Weapon loadout was M11-Wraith for up close and personal and M55-Argus for distance engagements.

Geared mostly for +shields/+shield regen/+weapon damage.

Bonus power = Carnage, which goes lovely with Incindiary Ammo.

Oh, I know. I spec'd/tailored my build all around the particle rifle, so headshot damage wasn't truly necessary with the damage output as is, although it could be applied.

I don't remember offhand what armor build I have but it's a mix of +Health, Headshot/Weapon dmg% Bonus. Going to play around with it a bit more once I get a little farther into the story (just hit Menae).

Bonus Power (as of now) - Energy Drain - emergency shields, shield stripping

Geared towards weapon damage/headshot damage/power cooldown I think. For my bonus power I was trying to decide between armour-piercing ammo or carnage, then went with carnage.

I'm up to Rannoch and so far I've only had real trouble going toe to toe with the geth. The tight quarters of the Dreadnought weren't friendly to my sniping tactics lol, those hunters are aggressive.

Does it work together with adrenaline rush?

I have a combo of shield strength, weapon dmg and melee dmg for armor. As for bonus power I went with defense matrix.

You can evolve adrenaline rush to allow you to use one more power while it's active...

That actually seems like a good strategy. I'll try it out. =]

I use reave with AR, so as to spam warp bombs (via Liara) accompanied with a barrage of non stop fire.

Surprised I didn't find more of you saying Stasis as I figured once you get the stasis bubble that tends to open up a huge range of options. However I can see where that would be far from a "traditional" soldier.

Done soldier insanity. Didn't take a tech/biotic bonus power for RP reasons. Took carnage for extra damage against armoured opponents (all the toughest opponents are armoured). Ran a relatively powers-less game...Revanant V and Black Widow V. Maximised my armour for weapon and headshot damage bonuses.

Felt easy. First up insanity playthrough, was a bit of a cakewalk with Liara doing CC and Garrus with overload/fire support.

For armor i wear half Hahne-Kedar and half Ariake Technologies (sometimes i sacrifice usefulness for aesthetics although i do sometimes find myself fighting those damn husks in melee). For the bonus power i chose Defense Matrix to improve my durability. Maxed incendinary rounds (with rank 6 explosives) and AR basically rapes everything. Anti armor and health, along with AoE damage. I just have garrus and tali (or EDI pre-rannoch) with me to take out shields . Of course everything seems so easy when basically all your skills are maxed http://cloud.steampo...3796EA4E802E1C/
(And cmon bioware, at least give me anotther 8 points so i can finish the job with cyro ammo)

Most tend to run full Hahne-Kedar armor set (weapon damage).

Technically the "headshot" pieces (some of the Armax) will give you slightly more damage, but that is only when you get a headshot.

Really though it only matters if you have a very specific weapon combo that needs extra damage from armor to one-shot some unit. Most of the time it isn't all that noticeable since Soldier will do nearly as much damage from ammo powers as from weapon damage.

A Marksman Infiltrator with full HK/Recon Hood and GPS can do some SERIOUS DAMAGE. Marksman increases your firing rate and the armor pieces increase your damage. Nasty combination. It's pretty much the poor man's Devastator Mode.
