I started out ME3 intending to continue romancing Tali, so when Liara asked me early after meeting up, I shut her down. But then came the scene in the Presidium Commons where she talks about her childhood, digging up make-belief ruins in a park - that was just so damn cute, I changed my mind. Accordingly I tried to pick the most encouraging dialog options from that point onward, but she would use the dreaded "friends" ...
Later, when I called up Tali into my apartmen, I told her we couldn't continue things, still hoping to turn that ship around. But now, reading up on the romance mechanics in the wiki, it refers to the Presidium Commons scene about the moment when the romance with her becomes "locked-in".
Did I basically miss the boat on both relationships now?
