They lied to me twice... and there are many RPG developers out there that care for their fans
more than their pride.

After the recent statement von Mr. Hudson, I think I will never buy a Bioware product again. Very sad, but the new Bioware ist nothing for me. Even if they change the ending I will wait for user reviews and not preorder or pay high taxes for collector editions again.

nope, if they don't change the ending for ME3 I will not be buying any future Bioware/EA products and if they do change it I'll be waiting on reviews from now on. (Reviews from fans and on forums, not IGN or anything like that, lost all respect for them when they call us stupid.)

If this is fixed and I have to pay for it. Never again.

It depends on Bioware, and how they decide to handle this in the end. As a Dragon Age fan i almost didn't buy ME3 after DA2, but i did and hell 90% of the ride was quality, it was just the last 10% that i remember, burned into my mind like a white hot fire, ruining the rest of the ME trilogy. If they show they are willing to do something, and do it quick and clean, and for the fans, not for themselves not for EA, but the fans than I can say yes, if not than never.

Halo was in this same spot after Wars and ODST, ( which I bought both collectors ED) Reach's Beta saved it for me, however I've grown to hate the MP of Halo Reach. 343I almost didn't see a dime because of the horrid Maps, however with Halo CEA, and what they did with it, and the pure quality of the last 3 book, Halo 4 is a buy, unless something catastrophic happens.I doubt it they are making great strides to make this game good ( the Hitscan Halo 2 BR is back for instance).

Unfortunately that list is getting pretty small though.

Thankfully Bethesda has more or less kept themselves on an even keel, otherwise I'd say we were pretty much out of options.

Sometimes I wish all the good former BioWare devs would get together with a chunk of Bethesda devs and create a new company together that absolutely refused to be dominated by some large production house. I had hoped BioWare would have been able to not buckle to EA, given the strength of BioWare's products being unquestionably profitable....but seems like everything that was good in BioWare has mostly moved on and its now more or less EA calling the shots and Dr. Ray just nodding and smiling as the money comes in.

I miss the days when developers had conscience and conviction. And the "love" they put into their development wasn't simply a buzzword used to market a title to a consumer base.

Call me a cynic if you like. But if you needed the investment funding a company like EA can bring you to make "good games", half the "good games" we grew up on would never have happened.

This reminds me of my love for Capcom...

Each game brings up the question of whether or not I should continue to support the company when they're taking so many business directions of which I'm definitely not a fan. The way they've pursued DLC has been irrefutably dismal, and the way they've watered down key franchises for the sole purpose of "reaching a Western audience" has ironically alienated me, rather than "reached" me.

Yet I seem to always come around, because they have a certain aura about them in their key titles. Sure, locking away DLC is their evil forte, but damn is SFxT good. Sure, Resident Evil is no longer even in the same zip code as survival horror, but RE5 is still one of the best, most unique TPS games on the market with a seamlessly integrated co-op mechanic.

All of these companies walk a fine line between what they can get out of the customer and what they need to provide. Long as a company keeps me feeling like the value outweighs the issues at hand, I'll continue to buy.

As of now, Bioware still holds value. We'll see what ME3's DLC plans do to that value.

Their name meant something to me. To me, I knew I was getting a great product that I knew I could enjoy over and over. As I sat here running through ME1, i totally lost interest because of the outcome of ME3. I tried to enjoy ME1 again but it almost pointless know. Because i know in the end the outcome is the same.

This is exactly how I felt also. A couple of days ago I loaded up Mass Effect 1 and was going to start playing it as a
FemShep/Renegade.

But only after an hour of gameplay I just couldn’t get into it! And it’s all because of that damn ending in Mass Effect 3!! It really, REALLY sucks!! I was looking forward to it before I saw the ending, and while I was playing Mass Effect 3 on my Paragon I would always think “I can’t wait to see what the Renegade conversations/actions are like”! But now…. I can’t do it knowing how it ends!!

After pre-ordering DA2, I was a little skeptical about pre-ordering Mass Effect 3. My friend said "it's probably going to suck." And while he was wrong for 99% of it, the ending does make me regret pre-ordering. It feels like I've been let down by two of my favorite franchises.

So, no, I will not be pre-ordering any future Bioware games. No more collector's editions or day one deliveries, which is a shame, because it was always exciting to know a game is coming. Now my future purchases hinge entirely on what gets decided about the endings.

I just answered this in another thread, but it belongs here. I pre-ordered the CE for ME3 because of how awesome it was going to be. I won't be doing that again. I'll wait and see what real people say about the game, and not take what the talking heads say about it. Might even wait for the price to drop or buy used.
And ME3 DLC that doesn't fix the ending is right out. I know how the story ends, adding another chapter mid-story won't change it.

Bioware was one of the few companies i would preorder the games for. But now I am just going to stick to renting and if I like buy it then. After Dragon Age 2 and the lack of options for that and the punch to the stomach ending that mass effect 3 gave, they are no longer putting out high quality so no more preordering for me

If Bioware releases a free patch/dlc to fix the ending, accompanied by a big fat juicy apology, I'll buy other Mass Effect DLC and games from them. Otherwise, I'm never touching anything Mass Effect ever again.

Furthermore, no matter what Bioware does. I will never pre-order their games again. I'll still buy them, once they become cheap.

No clearly, unless we got new endings with possibility of happy one.
After DA2 deception, now ME3 (even if we cannot compare both because DA2 is an average game whereas ME3 if one of the best I have played until the last 15 min...)

Until they fix the ending I will not purchase anything bioware makes. Why? Because I do not reward someone who failed to fulfill their promises.

Most probably yes. It doesn't hinge on Endings, (Fine by me, just incomplete - a lot of things are unsaid/unshown) but more on how they deal with SP (requirment of 4000EMS for full ending).

BTW: My preorders are generally heavly influenced upon quality of included bonuses. (Artbooks, models,...)

Edit: I also got problem with their "explanation" about From Ashes. That also could be negative. (Owner of preorder CE)

preorder?   never

When a product gets cut up enough (into dlc characters, ending dlcs, etc) it can end up not being worth the money.  Apparently with bioware or ea the only way to know if you get the whole product is to wait a few weeks.

Yes I will. When Dragon Age 3 surfaces I will pre-order it even though I suspect it will be a disappointment

Ultimately we are all complaining because we expected a game to be very good throughout, there aren't many companies we'd be expecting that of.

Preorder? No.
Buy another title? Of course.
I am never going for collector editions again however. Not going to lie, ME3's was a huge letdown. I'll just stick to the standard editions.

No. I will not poreorder and all future purchases will be used copies if I by them at all (Let's be honest, DA2 was..well yeah. Why would I buy DA3?)

That may change if we get a new ending to ME3
