AW with sword is indeed low dmg compared to a mage, if you hex mobs and unload cones/single spell you can get 100+ dmg each, considering cones will also hit multiple mobs... well is easy to see how sword cant really compare against that even if it had better chance to hit

a good armor set for AW is wade's heavy dragon armor + the bp for sale at wade's shop... the fatigue is quite low and armor value is in the massive armor range

the only problem is that you will have not to use gloves of +20% elemental dmg so is likelly that you will lose some dps in "caster mode" and using them will not give you the bonus to fatigue for set, but this is a problem for all the set ofc

Yes it has only about 2-4% fatigue, if worn as a set.
However the Medium version will even have a positive modifier of +13% fatigue!!!

imo: -Medium for casting AW's
-Massive set like Blood/Death/Wade for tanking AW's
-everything between should consider Reapers Vestments, because most of the armor boni wont do anything for a Arcane Warrior/ Mage (i.e.: Stamina bonus or Stamina regen, Resistance bonus)

The medium version of Wade's Dragonscale is very very good for the casting armoured mage. You fatigue actually goes below 0. I have also read recently (and has been confirmed) that +stamina regen effects mana regen and the superior Wade set also gives +2 stamina regen total.

Thanks for the tip.  I got Wade to make this armor for me last night.  I'm also finding that Wade's armor is superior for a casting armored mage over Blood Dragon as well.  It works really well on Nightmare and is allowing me to throw down even more spells!  It strikes an excellent balance between addtional armor protection and spell casting efficiency.

I went spirit healer and from a rpg perspective I like to wear extremely heavy armor. I prefer to use the sword and shield. My arcane warrior is kind of like a paladin but then I added sone of cold and fireball so that went out the window. Maybe I'll make another one and go true paladin or something very close: healing spells, armor bonus, glyphs, ect...
