Why exactly is the wraith preferred for squadmates over the geth plasma shotgun?

This thread needs a bump. We need to know if the new DLC weapons are worth equipping on our squad. I'd test it myself, but I'm not playing the game again until more single player dlc ships.

I suspect Ashley with the Harrier will be extremely powerful.

James seems to use the Reegar shotgun with far more efficiency than I can. :P

Lighter weight weapons for your power using squad mates like Liara and Edi. I would recommend them a Tempest (or Geth Plasma SMG, if you have the firefight pack) and Carnifex. For other characters, Shotgun: Graal Spike Thrower, Rifle: M-96 Mattock or Phaeston , and Sniper: M-29 Incisor (or M-90 Indra with firefight pack). Their guns need to be either semi or fully automatic.

Weight doesn't matter for squad mates

The Blood Pack Punisher definitely is. It does more damage then the Hurricane, but it doesn't shoot as fast. Though it still shoots quite fast, and has an AP shot the shoots out for considerable damage every 8 shots.

The Cerberus Harrier is another one worth equipping on our squad. Not quite sure if its better then the Particle Rifle, but its good. Its got a good RoF, and hits hard. The short coming of the Harrier is ammo, which isn't problem for ur squad.

Adas Anti-Synthetic Rifle not so much. I find that they miss a lot, and it has a slow RoF.

Geth Plasma SMG is not a bad gun, shoots really fast. So combine that with Cryo or Incendiary ammo and its can be quite effective. Still the Blood Pack Punisher and the Hurricane are both still better choices for ur squad.

Reegar Carbine Shotgun is a really good gun, but has very little range. So half the time if that ur squad is hitting nothing.

Indra is not bad, but there are assault rifles ur squad will do better with.

Krysae ive gotten mixed results. Not bad, not especially good. I'd say its still better to have Ashley or Garrus use the Particle Rifle or Harrier.

Harrier is useless on squaddies, the weapon details and stats only allow the squad ai to fire off 3-6 shots before stopping and going back in cover. ADAS on the other hand has same firing number as particle rifle for squaddies but as ADAS cant use a penetration module, your squaddies will likely shoot at the walls a LOT.

3-6 shots with the Harrier is like 300-600 damage. Ur squad shooting with the Harrier at 300-600 damage intervals is not bad.

yea but squaddies also have a dmg modifier. They do not do as much dmg as shep and with particle rifle they got best accuracy so they try to shoot at head of enemies. Harrier is good but they wont give you good supressive fire.

Ok so they are shooting at about what, 210-420 intervals? Still not bad, and u can add EB and AP mods to improve further. Garrus especially can do some damage with the Harrier.
I'd say the Particle Rifle is still better, especially with an ammo power, but i'd still rate the Harrier as one of the better Assault Rifles for ur squad mates.

Shredder on Geth plasma shotgun doesn't work, try shooting a guardian through his shield...
Better to go with extra ammo mod + heavy barrel.

Any gun that fires a special projectile, like the GPS, Graal, Chakram ADAS etc wont go through cover. So no point in using penetration mod on them.

If you charge up the Chakram Launcher, the round does go through cover.

What's garrus like with the Indra? Wondering if it compares to him in ME2 with the Incisor.

Assault Rifle users get the Saber.
Sniper Rifle users get the Widow.
Submachine Gun users get the Blood Pack Punisher.
Shotgun users get the Claymore.
Heavy Pistol users get the Talon.

All are fully upgraded except Blood Pack Punisher. All have the highest damage rating.

Shepard uses the Revenant.

My favorite squad make up is ashley and garrus with black widows. The poor buggers never knew what hit them. watching garrus doing headshots on mooks, brings tears of nostalgia.

Finishing off a Sentinel run over the weekend, I gave Garrus the ADAS on earth against Banshees etc. It seemed reasonably effective, with the draw back being everytime he fired, the electrical effect and splash damage explosion made it impossible to see anything. Not convinced it works as a squad weapon...I had no idea whether he was hitting anything most of the time or where the enemies were situated. He was good with the Indra though...better I think than with Widow and BW, as it is more forgiving when he misses or happens to randomly shoot at cover instead. Whilst not as good as the Incisor was for squadmates in ME2, it did remind me of that.

in my first game, a soldier shep, I bought and gave Garrus a black widow, now that was a disapointment, he doesn't seem to take advantages of the 3 round clip and he's very inaccurate with it, he miss all the time. I could give him a particule rifle, but role play I just don't like it.

Can Garrus actually makes reliable head shot with any of the other sniper rifle? I find it weird that he would have pin point accuray with the particule rifle when he seem so clumsy with a sniper rifle, is there some hidden stat that determine how accurate a squad mate will be with any given weapon?

I think for snipers that are good on squaddies, try the viper as they will fire 3-6 times before going bak into cover.

Wait, was not the falcon only nerfed in MP?
I'm pretty sure it's fire rate is intact in SP.
