How the F do you get it to reflect your current armor/look?

I'm beginning to think it's only a PC feature. Last time I saw someone who was getting it updated, including the equipment and level, but not avatar, was also a 360 user.

I think for the consoles it only shows you how you look when you first create the character. I started playing while my internet connection was down, and when I logged on here all my created characters were blank on this forum. Then I made a new character and she appeared.

My console one just refuses to update period. Hence the Loghain.
