Think about it: Kai Leng only had, at most, a few years of training as an assassin (and this was by Cerberus and we all know how badly they can screw up... *cough* Overlord *cough*) while Thane has been trained as an assassin since he was six. Not to mention the fact that he had top marks in the training program for Drell assassins, which would make him an elite of the elite. Kai Leng got lucky. It's as simple as that.

Thane in his prime could kill any target and most of the time without even being seen or noticed, Kai got his ass kicked by nearly everyone he went up against, even grayson kicked his head in and nearly killed him, it was only due to anderson that he wasnt killed, after that he was basically a cripple until 3 started as anderson bein the good chap he is knee capped leng.

 So thane easily, every time. Infact the only thing that ever puzzled me with kei leng is that ari didnt use him to paint a wall red.

It's interesting to see how many people simultaneously appear to delight in how weak Leng is and demand that he should have been stronger.

If not for Kai Leng's sword and his Phase Disruptor, Thane would have won hands down. But Than could only dodge either the sword or the phase disruptor. Cheaters never prosper which is why he died....RENEGADE ACTION!

Leng got thrown ONCE by REAPER Grayson. Lets not get that twisted... I'd say it'd be a close fight, but Thane would have an edge in experience. Leng is more Batman like with his hits. He doesnt just go in and murder everybody. He plans for days, weeks. He uses disguises and liasons. Thane seems to have a general strategy of not being noticed and uses ignored figures like beggars and children for recon.

Its a battle of who has the higher level of Batman.

 Thats sort of the point with an assasin or thief, kasumi can be thrown into the same boat as thane when it comes to recon, just kasumi uses more electronic survelance. One thing most if not all are forgetting about thane is that he can ignore pain, not just withstand it but outright ignore it and carry on fighting.

 At the point leng actualy manages to stab thane and might we say not outright kill him thane was running at something like 10% lung capacity, which for you me and everyone else in me universe = unconcious to dead. In the position thane not only fought leng but also nearly had him beaten.

 Now imagine thane running at 100% lung capacity, all his muscles working and his ability to bring full knowlegde to the front for every fight, muscle memory has nothing on thane, he has muscle memory and full retention of all fighting knowlegde he has used and had used against him through direct access to any memory and action he has ever taken.

 Leng is the polar opposite to thane, ye he can fight but he fights with an army behind him, when ever its a one on one fight leng normaly and most of the time gets his ass handed to him, doesnt finish the fight and either gets pawned or runs away. Ye grayson had reaper tech in him when he nearly killed leng ( which was only stopped because anderson saved leng) but so did leng when he went up against a nearly dead thane. So add that into the mix when you consider it.

If Thane had been healthy then KL would have escaped and Thane would have been turned into a war asset in your war asset terminal.(assuming you did his loyalty quest in ME2) If not he would still die because you missed his loyalty quest.

Its definitely Thane, even a weaken Thane should've defeated a cyborg up Kei Leng. If Kei Leng was that great the Illusive Man would've had him on Shepards crew in Mass Effect 2 instead of a at that time unpredictable non-human assassin in Thane.

if you bring a knife into a gunfight, and you actually know how to use a knife properly, in close proximity a knife is actually an advantage. moral of this story, if you use a knife... get close quickly, and stay close.

I think I would have 'nerfed' Thane somewhat. He was written as a bit more capable than I would've liked.
