Anything before the ending is completely irrelevant as none of it matters in the end anyway.

why the hate for Aria?

It means they worked late. That's it. More PR spin and misdirection. Until they flat out announce "Hey, working on the new endings!" I'm going to be a tad(read: VERY) skeptical of cryptic tweets and announcements like this one.

Again, guys, it's just impossible make new endings in 2 weeks. So I see no reason to bash BioWare if it is not new endings. In fact if the do release new endings it would mean they planned all that along - which would be pretty low.

This guy made three new endings in 11 days. One fan. On his own. WIthout an entire staff of people and the resoures of a company.
They could easily do it in two weeks. FIrst they just have to admit the screwed up, and I think some staffers egos are too big for them to realize they amde a mistake.

I like Aria, some don't.
I recall some taking exception to the fact that Shep had no snarky comeback to her saying "Don't **** with Aria", hence the joke.

It's Mike Gamble. Check out his pre-release interviews. Compare his statements to what actually is in the game. Anything he says is likely a well constructed lie, or he is just confused. In any case, what he says is often not true.

I think that they were always planning on having more to the ending, but they were rushed or they thought up this weird experiment. This also would tie into the idea on other threads about the "Truth" DLC and the one about the disgruntled Bioware employee.
Many of you will say this is a conspiracy theory and why would they ****** off their loyal customers. But the answer to that is simple they never imagined that it would actually enrage people, instead they thought it would lead to "Lots of Speculation". Because of the miscalculated level of anger they have deployed the PR tactics to stall. And the reason they are stalling is the same reason why the "team put in another late night" and that is the Ending DLC/Expansion was not finished yet, even though it had been in the production prior to launch. And they have not finished it yet because they were not going to annouce the "Truth" until a set number of people finished the game which would take time probably around April either the 1st or when they are at PAX. And this Clusterf*** has expedited those plans hence the long nights.
And to combat those from saying that "why don't they just say they are working on the ending?" because doing so would undermine the experiment, and they do not want to influence how choose which option to take.
OR I could be completely wrong and it was just incompetence and bad writing and they are now frantically trying to fix the end, but I have to have hope that it wasn't just bad a ending to an other wise great series.
Either way I will continue to Hold the Line.
(Note all of this assumes the Final Hour stuff was incomplete information, and they were just trying to make it seem like it was the end)

Exactly what I thought. You would think that someone would stand up and say 'hey, this might
not be such a good idea, guys.'

I am beginning to think that this whole ending fiasco was a botched social experiment by Bioware. They made it seem like the end of the game so that players would pick one of the three options (assumes indoctrination theory) and because they have origin that tracks player choices they could later come out later and say look 30% of you were all fooled by harbinger just like Saren and TIM were by choosing Control or Synsthesis. This would explain why they keep saying we have to wait till more people finish the game, because they want a larger sample say 1,000,000 people.

That's pretty sick.
So they shift through hundreds of thousands of saves, decide which ending would..what? ****** off or appease the most people, and then all of the others lead to Critical Mission Failure?
I'm pretty sure that'll set a precedent for computer games that hopefully no one will ever follow again.

It is an interesting theory, but no game company would take such a high risk, they could lose so much in the backlash, I wouldn't beable to believe it.Mallissin wrote...

The thing is, an ending like that would be kept top secret for fear of leaks. I think only a handful of people actually knew the ending before the game hit production stage, people who had been closely involved with the creative process for years. It's hard for people to see the flaws in their "baby" when they're so close to the subject. Especially so with big, sci-fi concepts where suspension of disbelief will be required to some extent.
Just... be considerate, and be constructive in your comments. The bioware team are people, like you and I. They have put years of their life in this product. If you flood them with negative comments, they'll just give up.

What I thinking is less of what would ****** off or appease people, but more like how they have released data saying that 82% of players are playing with a Broshep and _% are soldiers. Also I do not think this was the original plan and the rewrite froced by the leak made it immpossiible for them to finish it in the timeframe EA wanted/needed for their shareholders, so they came up with this wierd experiment ending. And I agree if it were true it would set a very bad precendent.

This. Provided they did in fact actually work late (which is essentially unverifiable). Give hope, misdirection, try to derail people. They've been doing alot of it lately with some effectiveness.
When he tells us hes working late on fixing the botched endings, then I'll be happy. Everything else should just be ignored.
Hold the Line.
