op did you even read the lastest article or are you ( like everyone else) just assuming it wont happen?

dlc is planned and mike gamble tweeded the devs were hard at work last night and itll be worth the wait

if you think bioware is gona ignore the ending feedback than you have no idea on how bioware works as a developer

As Stanley Woo said once, BioWare is always listening. However, that doesn't mean any grievances by the fans will be corrected.

Anyone who thinks art/literature should be changed because of anything other than the creators genuine(not financial) wish to change it is wrong, blind and selfish. If you don't like something don't like it. The endings should (and I'm sure will ) stay. That doesn't mean mean they can't be elaborated on/continued (and I'm equally sure they will) . And I can't wait to play more of this brilliant game.

No, if there are this many people who want to change it than it is selfish and stupid.
As for the ability to change it most art would have to be COMPLETELY redone but all modern video games need is a patch or some dlc which would only add or perfect it not completely change it.

so if people got together and protested about boycotting nudity from european art should that be ok? afterall they had no input on what was put in during the arts development

First who wants that to happen, second i pretty much specified to video-games because THAT IS WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT not statues and paintings or books, video games are a different kind of art, besides it would be preetty easy to fix this problem like i said all a video-game needs is a patch or some DLC but another form of art would need to be almost completely redone. NOT VIDEO-GAMES

The audience of DA2 knows that.

The audience of the latest novel knows that.

The audience of ME3 knows that.

And thats why it matters little to most people what Bioware reps try to tell us now and why there is such a storm of fecal matter.

He said that but that was because he was not supposed to let fans get there hopes up and to not let fans realize any future plans, he might not even know them
He basically didn't want to make any... promises as it were, or create false beliefs

Anyone in this thread that wants to understand the events from the last couple days regarding the ending should read the first post of this thread:

http://social.biowar.../index/10084349

It walks through all the comments made by BioWare over the last couple days.

im just saying though people argue our voice will be heard so for example what would your reply be if there was a crowd with the same voice but saying boycott such a thing because of w/e reason?

do you feel they have the right to be heard or do you think there a bunch of fools?

I'm new at posting so I hope I'm doing this quote thing right! I just think that the people who make the game get to pick how it finishes, their call totally ,and they should't change it for demand reasons. Just my opinion! Given that bottom line is sales / control in the games industry right now and EA whatever you think about their strategies is pretty central in this I do think we'll get the resolution we want (probably much better than Witch Hunt for Dragon Age as well) but I'd be amazed if it was anything other than pay dlc that keeps what happens at the end but sheds new light on it and gives Shep one last thing to do..... Everyone happy more stuff sold......

I would just not get involved if i didn't care, i would niether help or hinder them but either way i wouldn't tell them to stop al together because of there reason i would be logical about it and attempt to persuade them or just not get into it. but thus far in this thing I have had to say things over and over to people which has made me impatient and tired but not unwilling.

-Dont worry about the novel. It is under "revisement". They "listened" to you.

Amusing however that I didnt hear of a revision being completed yet or even begun. I havent heard of any authors or members of staff being asked to look it over. I havent seen any Del Rey news about this "revision".

But dont worry. They "listened". They arent going to forget you.

well, they surrendered complete control the moment that they decided to sell it to people, now they all get a say as to changes and other things, I would not really mind paying for ia resolution as long as it is a good one.

As much as I dislike reality, I'm with you on this OP. I am unhappy about the ending but we have to realistic here.

The audience of the latest novel knows that.

and thats what i myself have been trying to do regarding multiple threads about the same ending topic

i try to be civil but when people start using personal attacks on me thats when i realize all they have in there life is a game because real reality dosent sink in for them

i just feel personally that the hardcore old school rpg fans feel like this whole site is just theres and no one else is right but them

i seriously do wonder how old some of these people are because if some are over 35 and claim to know what every single form of gamer wants than that says alot dosent it?

im not bashing or flamming im just saying how i really feel on the situation

its like since they are not happy they have to make everyone else feel the same as they do

And you'd be in a position the "hear" of this... how exactly?  Revising an author's work probably involves negotiations, agents, contracts... stuff like that.  I somehow doubt that you're getting Cc'd on internal memos....

The bottom line, for all to remember, is that *if* changes happen, they will come more slowly than you'd like.  Any revision, to the game or its associated media, will take a long time.

People "bet" there would be a revision of the novel too. Especially after Bioware came out and stated as much.

Someone here on the board lameneted that some companies told its audience to "STFU and accept things" when Bioware at least told us they were "listening". Well.. if it amounts to the same, I prefer the "STFU and accept things". Its more honest and I know what I can count on.

-Through this Website would be an idea? Through the thread created for the purpose a while back? Through Del Rey? And yet, nothing. I am nobody. A lowly fan. It would be nice to get an update once in a while. That way I do not get any "wrong ideas".

Revising an author's work probably involves negotiations, agents, contracts... stuff like that.  I somehow doubt that you're getting Cc'd on internal memos....

-I would ask you kindly to direct me to any such place where I presumed as much. Where I stated such a thing or where I told you such a thing. Feel free to quote me back.

"Probably" is nice. But "probably" also implies that you do not know either. And we have not really been privy to any information about development in the matter. However you are a mod, so you might have seen something I missed? I have no problem taking it back if you have some source you can give me that dispells any and all of my concerns?

The bottom line, for all to remember, is that *if* changes happen, they will come more slowly than you'd like.  Any revision, to the game or its associated media, will take a long time.

-"If" seems to be the key word here.

Mass Effect fans have been asking for a comment on recent concerns over
Mass Effect: Deception. We have been listening and have the below
response on the issue.

The teams at Del Rey and BioWare would
like to extend our sincerest apologies to the Mass Effect fans for any
errors and oversights made in the recent novel Mass Effect: Deception.
We are currently working on a number of changes that will appear in
future editions of the novel.

We would like to thank all Mass
Effect fans for their passion and dedication to this ever-growing world,
and assure them that we are listening and taking this matter very
seriously.

Aside from the fact that this quote resembles quite strongly "other quotes" we have recieved recently, its been a month. No updates. No word. Nothing. And Deception is still sold "as is" on amazon.

You'll forgive me if I do not get my hopes up.

People, if you cant see how obvious current endings are as illusions, than i think bioware actually managed to indoctrinate its players, or maybe thats how they tried to show players what it feels like to be indoctrinated.

Youl wake up soon i think :)).

I agree, I believe that this was the whole idea all along, perhaps they didn't see this much of a reaction lol

If you've been paying attention to all 3 games I think indoctination is quite obvious.  They probably just want more people to see the ending before they decide to wake shepard up from the rubble, so to speak

Of course this is all wishful/hopeful thinking on my part, but I'm patient enough to kick back and see what happens.
