Release Announcement: The Wizard's Apprentice Chapter II: The Talisman and the Eye

It's been a long road.  After 18 months of development and 4 months testing, The Wizard's Apprentice Chapter II: The Talisman and the Eye is now available on the Vault and is uploading to the nexus as I write this post.




I have had amazing help from the community, particularly PJ156, Arkalezth, Eguintir Eligard, Alupinu, RJ Shae who all playtested tirelessly.  I also thank the scripting brain trust of Pain, KevL, MasterChanger, Knightmare, DannJ, and the others who helped with so many questions.  Kaldor Silverwand also deserves recognition for answering many general questions.

The release so far has been rocky.  The zip file was corrupted somehow on the vault's page and I tried to host at amazon which (now) I realize is not suitable for file sharing.  Now there is a Dropbox link that (hopefully) works.  I haven't heard feedback from that part. 

I hope that all of you enjoy the module.  I have tried to incorporate as much feedback as possible from TWA1. 

If anyone wants to discuss or has questions, this is the place to do it.

Very glad to read about all the custom music as well! I find music in an adventure (or movie or TV show) plays a major role in my experience of it.

Congrats on the release! The screenshots and description look and sound great. I look forward to giving this a go after I finsh the first patch for IWD, PoE, WA1 and then WA2.

The best winter terrain I've seen. And fun with fireballs, flame arrows and other spells that don't happen to start with f.

Why is this is a great picture? The map has a snowfield with rocky outcroppings, so what did M. Reider put in a little area that looks like it has a round outcropping protected from the wind? Some hardy winter grass, just like might happen in the real world. M. Reider gives good map. :lol: Also in action, the fog of war minimap.

You'll also have companions for the whole game so there will be a bit of variety.  Not a solo mod like TWA1.  Plus there are some goodies for figter/wizards.

I'm not a fan of playing a mage. But I am a fan of creative modules that do something different, which twa2 is.

Hi Matthew! I finally found the link and here I am asking for help.

No matter what I do I can't get part 2 to work and I'm so disappointed! I'm on a imac G5 (only one year old) with maxed out ram and memory. I've have had this problem a few times before - over 95% of the mods on the vault work fine, but every once in a while (unfortunately, usually when I REALLY want to play a mod and often when it's part 2 lol) I just can't get it to load. Nobody has been able to figure out why this happens and nobody else has reported this as far as I know. So, why me???

The only files in my game besides the OC are Motb and Soz, nothing in the override folder, and no haks or AI files. I start up NWN2 and it starts to load, then almost immediately dumps me to the desktop. It never even gets to the character selection screen. I should mention that I opened the files using winzipmacedition in case it was a stuffit problem, but it still doesn't work - and I downloaded the files a few times so I know they aren't corrupted.

Besides this mod I haven't been able to play Conan Chronicles 2 - The Zamorian Chronicles, and before that, Tears of Ilmarid part 2. I also had a lot of problems with Legacy of White Plume Mountain - a lot of the areas dumped me to the desktop including the mountain itself! Is there something in common with these mods?

I would really appreciate some help!

Ok just want to warn folks, he wasn't jokeing about little goodies to help spellswords and Eldrith Knights out. I need to go back and remake my char to use the extra feats Her Human self gets for other things. Allso I'm rechecking this, but I could of swore I to able learning when I leveled up and wehn I joined the mod to play that feat was gone. I'll recheck for you. About 2-3 hours in right now (in the master hall now).

Able Learner was a glitch when I did level up of the char with mod. So don't worry about that. Just tested it with a new built char.
