I would've  kicked you too, only because of the atrocious sound of Reave.  After switching, maybe people just didn't notice you changed your class.

Got almost instantly kicked out of gold lobby. With 20 lvl asari adept, N7 rating +100. And no, I didn't carry two weapons, or widow. :P

How bout the claymore? Posted Image

Just kidding... mostly. Seriously though, I'll vote to kick or just leave if there is a "caster class" in the lobby that looks like they won't be able to cast for crap because of horrible recharge. Having no mic makes it even easier. It's always easier to vote for someone if you don't have to talk t them first, lololol.

For low level characters the logic is that they aren't spec'ed high enough to do appropriate levels of damage on silver and gold ranks. I think it's fair for levels 1-10 to play bronze, 10-15 to play silver and gold should be reserved for levels 15-20.

As the enemies scale in difficulty then the players should also scale to balance it out. Because there is a pretty clear difference in damage dealt between a level 1 soldier with a Widow and a Level 20 Soldier with a Widow. Likewise with power usage for adepts/engineers...etc.

I admit that booting someone based on N7 ranking is dumb though...

I have to ask, what's wrong with the sound of Reave?  It doesn't sound any worse than any of the other biotic sounds.  You're not the first person who's complained about how Reave sounds, is why I'm wondering.  Drell Adept is one of my favorite classes.

I actually refuse to play drell adept, and vote kick anyone by default who brings one into a lobby. I'm not trying to be a colossal dick, it's nothing personal, and it's not because I have a grudge against the kit. Quite the opposite, in fact; the handful of times I played the kit I adored it, and having a drell adept in the game always makes for good times. It's just that damn sound bug, and that's just how I'm expressing my discontent with the fact it went live, wasn't fixed in the day one patch despite being a known issue, and no ETA has been announced yet on when it will be fixed.

It's just my little way of "holding the line" against the drell vuvuzela. The sooner it gets fixed, the sooner we can all enjoy playing the kit, and the more vocal we are about it and lower the playing stats are for the kit (meaning, it's having negative consequences for gameplay and players aren't simply accepting it) the sooner it will get fixed.

Is this a platform specific thing?  Because I've noticed almost no difference in the pitch and volume of Reave compared to say, Warp or Pull.

I don't kick anyone, period. Kicking is lame. For all I know, that level 5 is badass and doesn't need fast reload times and has awesome weaponry.

Some people tried to kick me today (I haven't really played multiplayer since the demo), the game started, and I wrecked with my Infiltrator as always. Got me some easy money and EXP.

I played with drell adepts before that used reave and I couldn't hear the apparently loud and annoying sound either. At least I think they used reave, they glowed blue-ish and I awesomed when they did that, they were using reave. It's hard to tell on random games though, esp since most adepts don't even cast their powers so maybe I am just giving the drells the benefit of the doubt and hoping that some adepts out there actually do use their powers, lol.

You can't say better. Noise is too loud and goddamn awful. Hearing it 30 minutes makes you want to kill that drell adept. I tried to play DA, it's actually very good class. You just don't want to use Reave.

It's not the sound itself, the sound is fine.

The sound just happens to be bugged, which means that everyone in the match can hear it nonstop and it never stops playing even after the duration's over. Unless you're lucky enough to overflow the sound buffer and it resets between waves, which is the only time you have a moment's peace and quiet with a DA in the game.

And it's a real shame, because DA is a damned fun and powerful kit to play. Reave itself is awesome, and being able to throw out biotic explosions faster than any other biotic kit in the entire game is even more awesome.

I got kicked before the lobby fully loaded up, and I was a level 17 soldier joining a bronze match with two level 20 infiltrators. Why don't these idiots start up private matches?

At least it's not as bad getting kicked after a gold match because "using overload on to drop shields/barriers fast is so cheap".

You didn't really answer my question though.

I've not only played Drell Adept (and spammed Reave, as it's awesome), but I've played with Drell Adepts as well, and I've never noticed anything about the sound of Reave.  That's why I'm thinking it's platform specific.  I play on the 360, by the way.

I know right. Usually when I get people that have never played with someone who spams overload/incinerate they see how useful it is, but these guys just didn't like it at all.

They were really good players though, thats why I cared. It's hard to find a good group for gold, these guys were excellent, but they thought using overload to make Phantoms/Engineers/Atlas's relatively easy was too cheap lol.

Lol.. I just got kicked out a Bronze game with my level 9 Adept (my N7 level is 247, so not like it's low.) 2 people in the room had N7 of over 2500 (both level 20.. in Bronze), one of which was using a Black Widow X, the other with a Paladin X and Geth Shotgun X. Fisssshy

While trying out vanguard, I joined a room. As soon as the loading screen finished I saw 2 kicks next to my name. The slot below me was empty (or just filling up). I assumed they did not like vanguards.

Almost immediately after I could see the lobby, another person filled the last slot. The 2 kicks eventually dissappeared under his name and the ones under mine disapppeared. I hit ready. The guy with the 2 kicks hit ready.

The remaining 2 decided to troll us an not ready, so I fed them by leaving the lobby.

If a group attempts to votekick me but doesn't do it fast enough, if I'm a DA, I'll spam Reave on top of turning my mic on while taking a massive dump. I usually spam Pull. Just something about seeing bodies float around that makes me lol.

Otherwise, I don't kick people. I'd rather leave the offending lobby for greener pastures.

Bluntly, you're being a jerk about this. You're punishing other players, or at least trying to, because of the sound bug.

Anyway: This seems to happen at least once a day or so, but I see people lining up to vote kick the leader. If you don't want to team with the leader, just leave. Kicking the leader will just dump everyone out of the lobby.

There are only two reasons to kick on bronze, first: idling in a previous match or second:taking waaayyy to long to ready up when everyone else has. In this case i'll always send a message or ask them over the mic, give them more time, if sill nothing then it's good bye.

Apart from them two reasons, bronze is the place to learn what works and what doesn't, but it does give players some bad habits when moving up to silver then gold, such as not using cover and going lone wolf to name just two.
