And this is why I have zero desire to play multiplayer in what should have been a single player only game to begin with.
Although this thread discusses a lot of votekicking scenarios, it doesn't really happen all that often in actual play. Most people are fairly easygoing, and the harshest thing you'll hear during most missions is "move back to the LZ." No one's ever votekicked me, even after being on 3-4 missions in a row when I was getting 4th place. It's not all that hostile an environment.

They took the challenge, and at the end of the game (after reviving them multiple times and going down once), I had about 20k score over the person in second (mostly from taking out heavy Reaper units with the Black Widow - Banshees, Ravagers, Brutes). We went on to play a few more games that were much the same.

yup I've only been suggested for vote kick once. (I wasn't actually kicked and I don't know if enough votes to do it would have been cast. I left first. the team was full of lonewolfers who I didn't want to play with either)
I am not the best player out there. ( I am usually not terribad either) but I am not usually 1 on the leaderboard. the first 15 games I played I was terribad.. Never Votekicked. It's not common. Even now that I am better as a whole, I have only seen people suggested to be kicked like 3 or 4 times out of the many games I've put in now.

1. I'm playing a Silver match and somebody joins who is so low level that it's clear from the start we can't even babysit him properly. (And even so, if nobody else votekicks him, I'm happy to give him a chance. I've seen some pretty amazing work from low-levels, even if their N7 rank isn't too hot.)
2. Everybody's been waiting to start for one guy who's been AFK for more than 5 mins, which should be more than enough time for them to assign powers, purchase equipment and reassign weapons/mods.
Oh, I suppose there IS a third option. If somebody's been a total jerk in the last match, being rude and insulting others, then I vote to kick them after the match. (Or leave if they don't.) I usually don't have to do this though; usually such players ragequit of their own volition halfway into the match.

This. I've only been vote kicked once, and I was playing a 20 Vanguard on Bronze, so I can see why they wanted me out. I just wanted an easier 2k credits for a spectre pack
At least so far.

edit: But yeah, votekicking low level players on bronze is stupid. Like I said, it's exactly what bronze is designed for, and where else would they even have to go? If you're that worried about losing a bronze because there's a noob on your team, switch to one of your high levels, any class approaching 20 can practically blow through a bronze on their own.

Soldiers tend to suck until they get a badass weapon, such as the Falcon

What's also ridiculous is that most people try to go for the most kills instead of working together to complete the entire 11 waves. They just go off and kill everything that moves and get in your way, steal your kills. Anything to get the highest score. Frankly the MP was poorly implemented. There should be a way to force people to work together in a co-op if that's the goal of the thing. As it stand it looks more like CoD than anything else where everyone is out for themselves.
agree on that to 100& i dont se so many ppl that healps eachothers to win..but i seen some great team and it makes it way more fun when ppl play as a team...
I agree and there should probably be something done with exp or credits to reward those who help with the objectives. I don't know how you'd do that though on objectives like getting the four things clicked. Often an Infiltrator can get all four while his/her teammates occupy the enemy. Should only the Infiltrator get rewarded? Of course not. So I'm not sure how it would be determined if a player was contributing to the objectives or not.

Happens. People tend to screen people by their character level, not N7 rank.
My level 3 engineer had more score than the level 20s in silver. Yet they wanted to kick me but host started it.
You can't really stop character screening with a vote system like that. Luckily, you need 3 votes to kick.
Ok, I'm confused, how can a level 3 character be any good on silver? Even if you're a good player, you don't have any of your powers leveled up yet. And your shields & health are crap.
And what exactly does the N7 rank mean? My N7 rank is up around 260. Doesn't mean I'm any good just means I've played a lot, ranked up & promoted my characters. I'll admit it, ain't worth a damn on silver wave 10 with a level 20 character. I kill what I can then run & hide like a scared little girl. My shields are always down.

I've seen a few times where a lower level player has joined a game and outperformed myself and other higher level players. Like someone else said above, if they can't play on bronze, where can they play ?
If you want a game with friends, play a private match.
