I was trying to resist posting in the forums about ME3 endings.....but i would like to give a simple analogy about DAO if  it had the same endings as ME3

We reach the point where we have to fight the archdragon and  a  mage from the Black City comes and tells us this:

Oh..you have 3 choices
1....you die, Ferelden is screwed but the monsters are dead...oh and you will  never know what happened to all these allys you had..or teammates
2....you die controling the blight and hopping there are no other dragons/mages/whatever left and that your will is stronger than the creators of the blight....and oh...i forgot to tell you....Ferelden is screwed....and you will never know what happened to.....
3...you die, merging with the blight, thinling it would be ok if anybody is half human half monster.....oh...and Ferelden is screwed...and ofc, you will never find out what happened to.....

think about this and tell me how good a game it would be.....
