As I've been playing I've been noting places that I would love to see a sequel go. I would love to play in Orlais (imagine plotting like the dwarves but all over the place). Or maybe Antiva - lots of opportunity to provide tough choices for the player - choose to support one merchant prince over another. Bioware has done a great job building a world with huge potential for future stories and adventures.

Yup Antiva would be nice - it would also have a somewhat Italian rennaisance feel to it now that we'ce already talked about AC2 in this thread. Also a human origin as something like a machiavellian Medici offspring would be great.

Oh and while we're at it - please no more kiddy origins. I don't want to start as someone who's being called "pup" by his father. If I have to have parents make them reeeeaaaally old

Yeah, he even called me that as a female noble...  Is he saying I'm a ****?

(To be fair, I was a bit of a ****)

I would LOVE to play as Duncan if they ever decide to dish out a sequel... or prequel?

I think it would be a great idea to have Duncan be the only main character. Would be bad ass to play as him, and be able to see how he became a Warden and the many hardships he faced.

Actually, scratch that... DLC definitely =P

um... No...

I don't really get why everyone has a hard on for Duncan anyways.. he was just another grey warden, nothing really special. I think people just get attached to him because he is the first one you meet and he brings you into the fold.

If we are going for a prequel, I would like to have the game set at the time when the grey wardens were first created and go through that.

I wouldn't want to play AS Duncan; That would be sacrilege. However DLC based around his early life, exploits, maybe as a friend/fellow Warden/apprentice/trainee/whatever would cause me to change my underwear several times.

Duncan didnt have a nice life/background.  Before the Wardens, he was a thief and he even murdered someone...

I would like a sequel that is set just a couple years later, you know. Baldur's Gate style. And you can have all your old companions back. You make a new character but it is the same Hero of Ferelden...wait.. no.. that would not work if you died.

But if the sequel takes information on the last game, like if you lived in the end, what companions you used, etc and used that in the sequel to really get that sequel feel. that would be awesome.

Just don't make it feel like a totally different game...

Agreed. Duncan's nothing special. He offs one Ogre and dies to a Hurlock. When he faces down an Arch- Demon, thats when I'll start respecting him. Until then, he's just a idiot trying to pass himself as the second coming

There are different foreshadowing characters in DA:O that all hint that Orlais is planned as the setting for the sequel.

It seems fairly obvious that the sequel will involve a new main character (since the majority of the endings have the main character otherwise indisposed), but I hope the sequel includes certain party members as setting NPCs and you get to see some of your epilogue choices reflected in either the DA2 setting backstory or by interacting with old party members (if you toughen up or kill certain party members, or hook up with others... etc.)

I'd rather have a big addon which includes Orlais and all the other locations you heard so many stories about in the main game, but that's probably just me.

Completely off-topic here, but gotta ask:

F-C, where did you got that art of Altair with Samus and Snake (at least I think it's Snake)? Awesome.

Playing AS Duncan would not work, afterall, you are meant to be your own character.

However, I think it would be cool if say you turn the clock back a bit, and your Duncan's good friend or something and you go through the joining with him etc.

Talking about turning back the clock and being with Duncan and the early Grey Wardens, I would love to be able to fight in one of the first Blights.. as in -fight- in one of the first Blights.... not lighting towers.. *mumbles*

First of all I hope DA2 picks up pretty much where DAo left off. Let us keep our characters and those that chose to kill themselves could start a new origen, or maybe one of the side characters like Jowan or The human nobles brother (forget his name) that were never fully dealt with in DAo. Last i heard in game Jowan was being sent to the Circle of magi for punishment, and the human nobles borther whose wife and son were killed was out scouting at Ostigar. (at least possible quest appearances would be nice to tie up lose ends.

Last of all who says Duncan is dead? Considering it was noted that darkspawn were known to sometime capture prisoners perhaps he was. A warden might be worth something to blight/archdemons alive. The story itself said the blight could sense wardens like the wardens could sense the blight. making any captured warden somewhat of a curiousity ti a Emissary/archdemon i'd wager. Duncan could well become fully blighted/ a ghoul and wind up as one of DA's enemies/villians.

they should just continue off the story they already made it wouldnt make since to start back on duncan knowing he is dead this isnt star wars they should just keep continue the story they like the hero of ferelden continues on to awaking through awaking and now the hero should go to orlais to meet the rest of the grey wardens theres alot of lands they talk about in the game that they havent shownen yet but the story should continue onto orlais so you can meet the rest of the grey wardens then they should make a third game were you can travel to all four places Ferelden,Amaranthine, orzammar, and orlais one big blight for the final game three archdemons rise at once and you got protect Ferelden,Amaranthine, and Orlais and you half to use orzammar and the deep roads to travel between lands

I say if they want to do a Dragon Age spinoff, go back to The First Blight, where the Imperium ruled, Dwarves had vast kingdoms, and there were no Grey Wardens. Back then, the Blight led by Dumat was wiping out everything since no one had any idea how to defeat him or what Darkspawn were.

It was a far darker time than the Dragon Age we've seen so far.

Instead, there were a few heroes who figured out the secret, [somehow] became the first Grey Wardens [though they didn't call themselves that] and faced off Dumat and ended the blight at the cost of their lives, their legend inspiring future generations.

And the reason it works so well is that the names of the first wardens is long since lost to history, giving Bioware free direction to create their cast of characters and a compelling story.

That's my IMO of course, a spinoff that would probably work very well.
