I want that shield for my arcane warrior , I intend to kill him and reload as many times as nessecary to get that shield but how often does it drop? I don't want to have to kill him 100+ times or anything
Really anything over 10 tries would be ridiculous imo
Gaxkang "Fade wall" shield drop , whats the drop rate on this thing?

Took me 5 kills to get one, really once you kill him once it becomes pretty easy.
I'd assume something like a 30% drop chance, you can always get lucky/unlucky however.

Well I saw a video of an arcane warrior make him look like a weenie and thats what this character I'm playing is
And it makes since too , Arcane warriors are more or less invincible and in addition to that if his AoE drain only hits one person he will drop dead much faster

I found that he was really as long as you have some sort of dispel system set up.
Glyph of neutralization especially owns him, just have your melee sit in it with him and they can't be touched pretty much.

I read the warden commander shields drop rate is insanely low and someone suggested it may only be obtainable on nightmare mode
Do I have to beat Gaxkang on nightmare to get this shield? (I'm sure I could , but why do that if I can make it easier?)

I beat Gaxkang in two playthroughs and he dropped the keening edge and the fade wall both times... I didn't think there was random loot for unique items ?

Fade wall is definitely random, and I got mine on hard btw, so it's not nightmare only at least.
He can still cast while in glyph of neutralization, but his drains wont do any damage or heal him (as long as the target is in the glyph as well) and his mind blast/other cc wont work either, as the glyph prevents any magic effects from being applied on people inside it.

Heh, I guess I'm lucky. Got it on my first kill, unaware that it was even a drop-rate on it. Bet I wont be as lucky with my own warrior (Alistair got it at the time).

Do these stamina + and stamina regen effects on this thing apply to mana instead if your an arcane warrior?

For the record for anyone looking up info on this subject
I got it in 3 or 4 tries
I don't think the difficulty is nessicarily specific I soloed him on easy and just flipped it to hard mode once he was at 10% health or so and then killed him on the attempt that I got it

Does the "+20% to healing effects received" actually work?
I think I've read something that bonuses to healing received isn't working yet...

I think they do. I can't confirm they do, because I haven't thorougly tested if they work yet, but I could've sworn I saw an increase in healing on Alistair when I equipped him with +%healing items.

Nah they don't do crap. If they work they don't work as well as advertized. But even without the healing, the shield is totally worth it.

i got both sword and a shield first time but to be honest i use Alistair as tank and he had Duncan shield i thought this shield was more relevant for rp purpose.

has anyone tried fighting him before level 12? I'm level 11 currently and I've beat up Gaxkang about 40 times now on Easy mode, and I'm yet to see the shield drop. This is my first playthru I've experienced so much difficulty getting it to drop, and I'm wondering if my level might have something to do with it or the difficulty setting I have it on. Any thoughts?

I got it 3 out of the 4 times I've killed him so far.
It might be a coincidence, but I'm pretty sure that it dropped whenever he died in his melee-form.

I could be wrong, but I think he always dies in melee form, I'm pretty sure his form switches coincide with the % of HP he is at. Since my last post I've tried it 10 more times, this time on Normal, and Nightmare for a few tries. Still no shield. I've either got the luck of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, or attempting this below level 12 yields no chance of the shield dropping, or just significantly less chance of it dropping.

It's dropped 100% for me each time on various difficulties as long as i dealt the killing blow when he was in melee sword/shield mode.

ya, I just killed him approx 50 times. He always dies in Sword/Shield mode, his forms are based off what % of HP he's at.

Wardens tower I have gotten each drop. On normal (360)
Fade wall was within 3.

Dead Coat of Arms, or whatever that other Revenant shield is, is very hard to get it seems.
Fade Wall seems to drop pretty regularly. I've almost always gotten it on the 1st or 2nd try.
To be honest, though, I don't understand why they didn't just make it a set drop.
--------
Drop Fade Wall 100% of the time from Kangaxx (backwards), and drop Dead Coat of Arms 100% of the time from the final Revenant you kill. This makes the most sense to me. (Why do you want us to grind???)

I've killed him 5 or 6 times and have never had that damned shield drop. Granted I never bothered trying to reload and kill him over and over again but whatever.
