Hmm. Kind of feel like we might ruin the ending by changing it so drastically. Every single poll question has STRONGLY AGREE numbers in the 85%+ area, resulting in the ending being way too happy. Kind of destroys the entire aspect of the reapers doesn't it.

Agreed.

Im also worried that the tone of the polls is making us look like entitled gamers, rebutting pretty much every single aspect of the endings in overwhelming numbers, without compromise. I much rather think that a message of co-operation between us and Bioware would get more things accomplished- "these are things we could live with in terms of your artistic vision, while these are some things we'd love for you to add on/change".

I'm about to post another draft of my final poll, please tell me what you think about it along those lines:

Here is my latest draft for Q16, the FINAL POLL. What do you guys think?

Which ending would you want to see implemented in the DLC?
(PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE ANSWERING!)

Based on the results of prior polls, the following would be ideal in ALL of these proposed endings:

-Original endings would still be in the game but depend on player choices to trigger them.
-All options have a good and bad outcome depending on player choices and EMS score.
-EMS would be adjusted to not require multiplayer for even the best ending.
-Relays COULD stay intact.
-Citadel COULD remain intact.
-Depending on choices, Crucible MIGHT not take care of ALL the reapers, leaving the rest for the fleet.
-Normandy crash wouldn’t happen in NEW endings .
-“Stargazer” scene wouldn’t happen in NEW endings .
-There has to be at LEAST ONE happy ending variation where everything goes right and Shepard and crew live.
-Ideally there would also be end variations ranging from extremely happy, to bittersweet, to extremely bad.
-There would be an epilogue, for at LEAST the player’s MAJOR choices throughout the series.
-There would be an epilogue for Shepard and his crew. (At LEAST one if they live, and ideally also one for if not.)
-There would be an epilogue for Shepard and his love. (At LEAST one if they live, and ideally also one for if not.)

Each of the following describes the BEST case scenario, with variations depending on choice and EMS:

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE PROPOSED POLL OPTIONS:

Bypass Star Child
(Shepard makes choices at console after Anderson’s death. No Star Child Scene. Catalyst destroys or disables all to none of the reapers depending on EMS. )

Star Child Rejection
(Shepard gets expanded dialog options to argue with and reject the Star Child’s assertions. Includes way to “disable or destroy” the Star Child and use the Catalyst manually.)

Both Of The Above
- as long as they also do everything mentioned in the poll’s description.

Indoctrination – At Beam
(Shepard wakes up, Harbinger looms over him, dialog ensues. Reinforcements arrive and distract Harbinger so the squad can go deploy the crucible. Anderson still alive. TIM?)

Indoctrination – Fight Cutscene
(Same as above, but after the dialog, reinforcements arrive and weaken Harbinger so Shepard’s ENTIRE team can kill him and go deploy the crucible.)

Indoctrination – After Star Child
(Shepard wakes up on citadel, finds a new human proto-reaper looming over him, built from humans sent through the beam. Dialog, boss fight, then the crucible. )

Revival - At Beam
(Almost identical to “Indoctrination – At Beam” , only Shepard was not being indoctrinated by Harbinger, he was unconscious and the dream was his will to fight.)

Revival - Fight Cutscene
(Almost identical to “Indoctrination – Fight Cutscene”, only Shepard was not being indoctrinated by Harbinger, he was unconscious.)

Revival - After Star Child
(Almost identical to “Indoctrination – After Star Child” , only Shepard was not being indoctrinated by proto-reaper, he was unconscious.)

The Original Ending
- as long as they do everything mentioned in the poll’s description.

Anything At All
- as long as they do everything mentioned in the poll’s description.

This poll does not reflect what I want.

These are some very well thought out polls and it would be wise for Bioware to look at this and base dlc off of it. I don't care how long it takes, I waited two years for ME3. I can wait a little longer for a proper ending.

Personally, I would like the game to at least have an epilogue slideshow, like DA:O, that can at least say what was the result of the whole adventure. What happened to Earth, Palaven, or Thessia? What about the crew? What about how the quarians reacted when all their geth friends/allies died when I chose the Destroy option?

It would be nice to know, unless BW is planning on ME4 that will tell. Just seems like the story just dropped off and threw the crew on some random planet, are they doomed to be stranded on an unknown planet with no working ship or hope of rescue? Great, Shep saved the world, and his/her crew are now stranded who knows where due to Joker going lightspeed somewhere, with no Mass Relays to send messages out to or to bring in rescue ships....

I really did like the game, but after thinking about it a while, the ending could have been done better, it just seemed thrown together.

I hate to say it, but I'd feel like I had a very entitled attitude to throw such direct suggestions at BW. It's not out of line, but I think I'm satisfied to say that I just wanted something a bit more specific in the epilogue and the possibility of a happy ending. None the less, I've been participating in the polls because I think everyone who wants SOMETHING to happen has to stay involved, and I wouldn't exactly be disappointed to see some of those things actually happen...

Thank you for posting this. Although a lot of people are voting for the super happy endings, the main thing to point out is that we want it as an option, not as the only ending. I don't think that may have been stressed much in the questions. I personally would like a super happy ending as well as a sucky ending. The point is to make us feel our choices have consequence, hence making us want to play the game again.

This, absolutely.

I suspect due to limited choices that one ended up getting most, because a lot want at least a chance at getting that ending.  From happy to lose all, say, perhaps, hmm, four variants?

Just no "Who are you?  Never mind, I believe anything you say" and then left there with more questions than ever, and not in a good way either.

Yes, yes, happy is sappy, but it is supposed to be our story, no?  That is what the series (which I love) is sold on.

Edited to add:

Q16 looks good, I think.

Way too happy? Regardless of whether the Relays are destroyed or not, the galaxy is devastated. Billions are dead and way more survivors are each left with their own level of emotional scarring. The damage caused to infrastructure, communication and housing and pretty much everything planetside and space stations, as well as the fleets, is so massive it would take decades, possibly centuries to rebuild all of it and get people's lives back in order.

If Shepard survives this and gets a happy reunion with his surviving squad and LI and together they can look to the future again, this is not 'way too happy'. This is what I'd call bittersweet and would be a good ending to me imho.
