I sincerely hope Bioware acts. since KOTOR, the Bioware label as been enough for me to purchase their product. now wavering. i hope they realise they are putting at risk the entire Mass Effect franchise (games, books, comics, merchandise and films)
Yes and remember there were a lot of disappointed fans when DA2 came out. You have that lackluster sequel and now this. Bioware is stumbling a lot lately, they are even risking people cancelling their TOR subs out of protest, which would be very costly.

Well laid out poll. I just wish there was a way to eliminate the self-selection bias, but I'll take what we can get.

Well, so over half does indeed want super-happy Disney ending. Even with relays intact. Seriously, c'mon pople. That's never going to happen, and frankly, it wouldn't be good if it happened, considering how unimaginably hard of a task defeatig Reapers was suppoused to be. There have to be some sacrifices, AT LEAST the relays. Otherwise it would just diminish what was being set up throughout the entire trilogy - how hard achieving any potential victory would be, based on the fact that Reapers won without any poblems in every single cycle in the past (at least) 37 million years

That's why I picked the 4th option. Even so, I don't blame people for wanting at least the option to have a happy ending.

The problem is, the destruction of mass relays kills the series, who could then only be continued with yet another deus-ex-the-machina.
Seriously, consider that without mass relays, the gigormous fleet of allied species, including most of quarian species, including liveships (if you saved them), astronomic quantities of turians, krogan, asari and else, and all that people are stranded on Sol System and the Local Cluster ! WTF ? Even without the reapers you don't have to be a farseer to see that there can't be a sequel nor any post-ME3 development ...
Mass Relays are integral part of what Mass Effect is about, hell even the title of the series would not make sense without the existence of Mass Relays of the first place.
The ME universe is rich and compelling, and Bioware just killed for the sake of "lots of speculation from everyone"

Don't turn this into another generalizing 'all you want is a happy ending' argument, we want the endings to be distinct, as it stands they're the same. You're arguing in the defense of endings that make all that preparation and hardwork seem like it doesn't do a damned thing. Wouldn't you much rather have an ending where the Reapers kick your ass for being a moron, an ending where the losses are heavy and much of the population of the galaxy is depleted with many friends dead, and an ending where despite the trillions dead and friends lost, the Reapers are defeated, and the galaxy can finally rebuild? Each would have some amount of resolution as opposed to the crap dealt to us in the stock endings.
