I'm wondering how the fanbase is affecting sales of ME3, so I've created a poll. If you have actually changed peoples' minds about whether they were going to buy ME3, please vote.

http://social.biowar...50/polls/29839/

Please, BE TRUTHFUL and VOTE ONLY ONCE. I'm interested to hear what you've accomplished.

Update: With 146 people having taken it so far, at a low estimate (using the minimum # in each category) 176 people have been convinced not to buy the game and 50 people have been convinced to buy the game.

C'mon guys, I could post this in the "Retake" threads, but then it wouldn't be unbiased. Link to the poll in whatever pro- or con thread you want.

,,,You do know that the real effect of the current debacle won't really show until their first DLC, or their next product, right?

Prior to seeing the Ending the first time I fully intended on getting the Day 1 From Ashes DLC. Not now, though. Nor will I now get any other DLC unless the first one is real endings.

If we already bought the game, how are we supposed to affect the sales? ONly time will tell with future DLC. The only thing i can say is i won't touch ME3 till the ending is fixed to give us more closure, retcon the gapping plotholes, get rid of Casper somehow and above all, MAKE SENSE!

I'll be honest, I doubt I have changed much but I wouldn't know. I've made a couple of videos about it, those were largely positive and from the demo. I believe a few people did remark they were interested in it. Other than that, I really don't try to promote or.. demote I guess a game or product and every negative/positive discussions about the game were largely among friends that already bought the game as we are all - or were at least - Mass Effect fans.

So I'll go with the 5-9 thing to buy, due to demo content, just so I can feel more important than I likely am! :D

I'm trying to see how word-of-mouth has affected sales. For example, I got three of my friends interested in buying the game (who otherwise might not have), but then convinced them not to on the basis of the ending. If the ending changes, I'll happily recommend the game to them again. For the most part, it is amazing.

Well if this is any indication, I live in a university town and there are 6 gamestop stores around here. All of them have decided to stop take in a used copy of MEIII because they are being flooded by it.

I preordered the collectors edition of the game and preordered the collectors addition of the guide.
I guess I could stand out in front of my GameStop and scare potential customers off but that probably wouldn't go over big with the staff and I like most of them. Also, my wife probably wouldn't be so big on bailing me out of jail. I did right a nasty review on Amazon but I couldn't quantify that I've talked anyone out of playing. I talked myself out of replaying it.

I work as a CS M For an online gaming store. Our customers love to ask our opinions on things and sadly i've pushed ~30 customers and counting away from ME3 at least for the time being. "Dont bother playing till they fix the ending" The few that choose to buy it anyways emailed me over the past day or 2 stating i was right.

I think you've had more effect than that, but it's nice you're humble!

Yes, but I'm curious to see what people have to say. The poll will probably get trolled and not be valid, but it could be interesting.

My cousin.

I told him I'd finished ME3, he asked my reaction, I said, "lukewarm," he asked why, I warned of spoilers and contained them, he insisted, and I laid it out:

95% of the game was fantastic, but the last 5% was so bad it makes me never want to play the trilogy again.

After some more pressing and some very carefully-worded explanations of what makes the ending bad without ACTUALLY SPOILING the ending, he concluded that he wasn't as interested as he'd thought, and $60 was too much of an investment at the moment if the game was going to leave him dissatisfied.

So. Sorry, Bioware.

...kinda.

We can affect the ME3 sales - not everyone preodered the game.

I'm the only one I know who even plays ME. So... no one.

Edit: And I wouldn't warn them against it anyway. Most of the game is good. I'm more upset by day-1 DLC than I am about the poorly done ending.

Maybe three against buying. I haven't been very aggressive about it though.

Bought along with few friends all preordered. One of them I recommended the game to. Still hiding from her backlash for recommending a game that has a sucky ending.

You should make two different polls, i mean, i convinced 3 people to buy it, not ME3, the whole series.
But ive also made 4 people not buy ME3.....

I have been trolling wow trade channel and in guild about it. I know a few people who ended up I don't know how but getting pirated copies. Which I am against! I'm not the only one trolling trade channel in wow about ME3

Um, if you've both gotten people to buy and not buy I guess you could vote twice. It would probably be better if I said "NET # of people" in the poll. Thanks.:)

The most embarrassing thing though was I was so hyped I told everyone to get the game before it was out. I went on for two weeks non stop about how great ME3 is going to be. I'd troll people with TAKE EARTH BACK all the time. During first playtthrough id always say to "whats up" "oh jist saving the earth from alien invasion what about you?" Was embarrassing :( after finishing I went really quiet and people asked me if something really bad had happened. I was really speechless for a while.

You're like a Star Wars fan circa May 1999.
