Second thread having a go at Cortez relating to his sexuality or singled him out in a negative way for it in past few hours, beginning to think Bioware attracted way to many homophobic players as well as way to many emotionally deficient gamers unable to handle negative outcomes and reactions in how to deal with writers and developers choice in creating the story they wish to tell.

LOL. Good one. Spinning a desire for LOGIC as "emotional deficiency."

My character shot Mordin in the back and I thought that sinister confrontation was glorious. I handled those emotions just fine. I still want a better ending. Why? Because what happens doesn't make sense.

Back to the actual topic of this thread, there will always be some players who do not want to encounter gay content in their games. Being "homophobic" doesn't predispose a person towards a certain type of game in very many ways, so such players can be found in almost every games customer base.

What?

How would taking out characters like Cortez and Traynor change the ending in anyway? Bioware had the ending planned and taking out cutscenes from adding in these characters wouldn't changed would they already planned to be the ending.

I'm not supporting them, but if they took out Traynor, had EDI (you know, the hyper-intelligent AI?) sort my messages, and let me keep Jack on the ship to actually have some emotion in my romance....

Yeah. I'd toss Traynor out of an airlock. :D

Mass Effect players are so alpha, you can't understand... Drinking with a good (gay) soldier hurt their manhood. *sigh*

You can still ask for more quality time with the other characters. Trying to blame it on the gays as to why you don't have that makes you sound like a homophobe.

That crap may fly on metacritic but not here.

I disagree.

I loved the Kaidan romance. I felt like the whole "I had a torch for you all this time but didnt have the courage to say cos ur a scary butch marine" thing made sense to me.

lol.

EDIT:
Plus I love Rafael Sbarge's voice.

Haha! I suppose you do have a point, it could be interpreted that way :)

So what you're saying is that Bioware shouldn't have caved to ongoing requests for content on the part of fans?

Hmm...

Um, no they aren't. They are all females. With uteri.

^ Just to add some of these so called 'fans' (imho) are better off not being fans at all, Bioware and the community would be better off without their distasteful and nasty antics and small mindedness. This place would be a far less hysterical, vitriolic and hyperbolic in nature which probably puts off many from actually taking part or being part of the community.

I hate to say I told you so...

As there was a growing "we are black and we want black shepard!!" campaign since ME1, i consistently said the exact same thing.

Which was while I have nothing against black people, shoehorning in black people to a series that is already established, is just going to take time and energy away from characters we love.

So what do we get?  Playing chess with some girl who just got shoehorned into the game.  How many more of you (black people included) would prefer to see Shepard playing Quarian chess with Tali?  Wait, is that 99% of the playerbase with their hands up?

Same, drinks with "Steve".  How many more of you would prefer to see Shepard propping up the bar with Garrus?  Is that even more of you?

This was a waste of time, put in to appease a small minority of whining fans.  As such we got LESS Ashley.  We got LESS jacob.  We got LESS miranda.

Sorry, but it's true.  "Steve" probably got more screen time than almost anybody, to appease the people with their "blacks in space" banners, and thats a shame.  I think the Jacob and Thane fans would have rather the programming time spent on them.

Dare I say imagine if the resources for those 6-7 scenes with Steve were all put into improving the ending..  i think we'd have far less people complaining about no blacks, than we do at the moment.

I hope by changing out 1 word you now realize how horrible what you said really is.

Why are you insulting black people and comparing them to gays?

I don't think I did either. I changed one word in order to illustrate how bigoted the original post was.

I've heard this argument before, and it's quite flawed. Why don't you ask a black minister what he thinks about his people's stuggle for civil rights being compared to the agenda of the homosexual mafia?

The homosexual mafia...

and you say MY arguments are flawed.

Got to give it to you, Dragoon. This is the first thing you've said I've agreed with utterly. I feel like this whole board-thing may work out, after all. You wanna be Quarian and I'll be Geth, or....?

It's funny how no one has said...steve is a good pilot..........

that's the problem with the world. lbgt people want to be known for thier contributions, not anything else. We will be better off once we all get there, and i mean ALL of us.

Nearly two weeks until this thread got started ?

I honestly expected the this topic to come up sooner. But I guess all the homophobic trolls were too busy last weekend. (Strange that stuff like the OP only gets posted when the moderators are less active.)
Also I am not sure whether I should be glad or sad about the fact that my prediction that some posters will claim that the ending sucked because there is a gay shuttle pilot became thruth.

I will do much better than that. Here is a quote from civil rights activist Coretta Scott King. She is the wife of civil rights icon the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I still hear people say that I should not be talking about the rights of
lesbian and gay people and I should stick to the issue of racial
justice. But I hasten to remind them that Martin Luther King Jr. said,
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

Steve was a terribly written character. I did kind of feel sorry for him and his husband, but that flew out the window right at the point of his coming onto me in the bar. My first reaction was "Dude, wtf? I'm glad I helped you get over your loss, but you're trying to pick me up 5 minutes later?". It just seemed so wrong. I went on to ask my bf about it and he had the same reaction.

Except that it's not Steve that picks up Shep but Shep who picks up Steve. And you have to pick him up 3 times before he finally says that he does like you. Looks like you and your boyfriend have problems following the story.

Seriously, I'm fine with anything Bioware does as long as they do not go for the weirdness of DA2 by making everyone bisexual. Steeve was a good character, a credible, ordinary gay male.

Asari aren't hermaphrodite, they are monogendered. To be hermaphrodite they would require both male and female sexual organs, in other words two sexes worth of equipment.

Personally i saw him as a well rounded out character, the fact he had a dead husband was an irrelevance to me.His story would have provoked exactly the same response had his marital partner been a woman, a well crafted commentary on the loss of a loved one to a war. Certainly far more interesting a story to me than Vega, AKA Captain Spinoff.

If you don't pay them protection, they'll come round and make you look fabulous.
