How was Traynor any more "one-dimensional" than Kelly Chamber of hell even Jacob?

I definitely wouldn't call Chambers a good character, either. And Jacob at least had an interesting loyalty mission involving his father to make up for how bland he himself was, I guess.

I wanted to kick the shuttle pilot off my ship when he threw the "Husband crap" in my face. Where is my option to turn off all homosexual interactions on MY Normandy.

I prefer minor but well developed characters to retconning existing characters. (Kaiden anyone?)

I actually always assumed him and Ash were Bi. They had these lines of dialogue in ME1 that felt like they were flirting, regardless of your gender. But, then for some reason Ash isn't Bi in ME3, but Kaiden is. Which is like "Double standard much?"

Ash is too religiously grounded (see ME1) for her to be bi/gay... at least imo.

You could have just not talked to Steve right?

Sure I could have.  But then I'd miss out on a lot, because he got a lot of scenes.

I have nothing against him, but is there anyone, and I'm including gay people in on this, who wanted this time spent on Steve if they had an option of it being spent on another character already in the series?

Could you give examples of how other characters were shortchanged? I don't recall any major characeters being developed any less than they deserve.

Jacob - People who romanced Jacob were told they were dumped and thats the end of it.
Miranda - A few cameo's then a little reunion at the end, awful romance
Thane - Almost no reaction to his death
Ashley - Barely on screen.  Assume this goes for Kaidan too.
Grunt - Vega was taking his spot on the team

Thats just off the top of my head.  Pretty much all the ME2 cast could have benefitted from the amount of time Steve got.  And I'd rather have spent that time with any one of them, even Zaeed.

Ridiculous thread - I have a hetero female Shep, and you know what? My friendship with Steve Cortez was actually pretty nice. I genuinely liked him as a person, and if it upsets someone like you, then good. That's even better.

I liked Vega, and I liked Steve and Samantha. How many resources were "wasted" on fetch quests on the citadel? If you want to blame something for taking time away from other characters, blame that. But the point is, there's always going to be SOMETHING to blame for SOMETHING you're not happy with. I liked having the gay option, don't smugly suggest that Bioware's successful attempt to add it in takes something away from you.

I like both of these characters and am glad I got to know them and do these scenes with them as opposed to spending them with people I've known since the first game.

None of it matters. Busy saving universe. Any perceived signals you pick up on your part are just that. Perceived and not real.

Now, where do I find the next bad guy?

I actually did want to go back through and turn everyone down. Play sort of the "I don't have time for this" hero. Of course, the endings killed that for me. Thanks BioWare!

Why? It's all true.

Play chess with random lesbian girl or play chess with Tali?
Drink with Steve or Drink with Garrus?

I think theres 99/100 people that would prefer the second options to what was put in the game. It was a waste of time and resources to appease whiny fans.

True enough... but Bioware is a Canadien company. No such thing as free speech up there, and Montreal is practically San Francisco.

It was a bit awkward when Kaidan hit on me. He wanted to take our bromance places I wasn't ready to go. I had to turn him down; it made me sad.

Other than that I'm good with it. What's the big deal? Trayner and Cortez were good peoples.

I bet you wouldn't have said that if they were both straight.

Sure I would.  They were both basic rubbish characters only put there to appease gay "fans".

I would replace Traynor time with Kasumi time and Steve time with.. well anybody.

I'd just like to say, though, that IMO is was MUCH BETTER for them to add new characters rather than suddenly change the orientation of already established characters.

My femshep liked "surprising" Traynor in the shower.

And Steve was actually really cool.  I felt for him.  Least he wasn't another meathead like Vega.

And, being as I like to play female characters that have relations with other female characters, I approve of how this programming time was spent.

HEY NO HATEIN' ON THE VEGA!!!!!

Sorry I like Vega. His one upmanship with Garrus was funny as hell. Only weak character abourd was Allers.

Yeah, while we're at it, we should make a "no blacks" option at the beginning of the game, to avoid offending racists.

Personally I think Bioware is focusing too much on romances in general, but might just be because I don't really think having romances in a setting where everything is on the line is a really good idea.
I think they handeld Steve well enough i.e. making it natural instead of "forced".

You're complaining that more time wasn't spent on Tali & Garrus who along with Liara are the most pampered characters in the trilogy? This is a joke thread right?

At least from the male side, I considered Kaidan to be the best-written option for broshep. Cortez really did have the feel of being heavy-handed; every other game didn't have a visible shuttle pilot, so he felt shoehorned in. I assumed the shuttles were computer-controlled, or the landing team handled the driving!

I just didn't like it when the first real thing I knew about him is he was he was gay, and he lost his husband. I think as a character he would've worked better if I had a chance to learn about his grief for his bro first, enough to empathize, then twist the knife that his bro was his husband.

because having lesbian sex with liara in ME1 TOTALLY was not a gay relationship. yeeeeaaahhh...

*facepalm*

homophobia amuses me greatly. usually right before the homicidal rage.

I've read posts from S/S people who say that the Liara relationship doesn't count, and was just a cop-out from Bioware.
