So, missed one night, got 6 games in.

Konan the Krogan Sentinel went out for a few tours.

First was Hydra/ Cerberus; I had a lot of fun on this one, mostly because there was another Krogan Sentinel and a Human Sentinel. Basically it boiled down to lots of melee action and running around. Memorables: One poor trooper being caught between 2 charging Krogans. Paste. Full Extraction. A lot of fun and learnt a bit on how to handle a Melee Krogan.

Ghost/ Reapers was much less enjoyable. Someone with a Geth Infiltrator and a Indra with an incredible RoF. I was struggling to get into action, never got the momentum going. Guy was 75K up in a Bronze lobby. It occured as I was exiting the lobby that this might have been hacked, but I didn't get to see the name and leader before I went off.. silly of me not to think of that earlier.

Memorables: Meleeing a few Brutes and mushing Ravagers.

Konan reached 20 and I bundled him off. It's not that Melee Krogan wasn't fun, but it's quite situational and depends on your team to give you some left overs. Usually it's not bad, but when you run into certain people...

Rolled up a new Asari Adept, Kuanti. Level 1.. going to need carrying. Went into Hydra/ Reaper with a Revenant to back up my Level 1 Warp and Level 1 Stasis; A Level 20 Adept was around though. Decent game. Banshees came and went; a couple got close but lost track of me as I duck around the pipeworks. The Level 20 Adept got sync-killed and I took out the Banshee with Revenant fire. :wizard:

Wave 10 was Hacking, and I waited till both the Banshee and Brute were both IN the hacking circle before letting rip with the Cobra -- nailed both. Wave 11 was uneventful, couple of Brutes but nothing major. Full Extraction.

Giant/ Reaper was next. Not as enjoyable -- Vanguards, so place was crowded with biotics. Hard to work. Didn't do very well but passably.. Accidentally brought in the Revenant but wasn't the right tool. Full Extraction -- nothing memorable. -_-

Hydra/ Cerberus -- swapped to a Carnifex. Didn't use it much. Lots of BE as I finally got the Warp and Throw to a certain level. Had a bit of problems with Guardians, since the Carnifex didn't have AP. Throw did the trick. Full Extraction.

Memorables: Stasis a Phantom -- but forgot I wasn't a Krogan anymore and went down the ramp to melee her. Opps.

Extraction Wave, forward defence and ambushed the Atlas at its spawn. Cobra wiped them out, and we fell back in good order.

Glacier/ Cerberus. Swapped the Carnifex for a Phalanx -- feels better. Team was good, Krogan Vanguard, a Human Adept and a Human Engineer. Had some issues when they broke a spawn, but generally ok. I worked for this game and was quite surprised to be at the bottom -- seems like the Krogan and Adept was working much harder than it seems.

Memorables: Stasis a Phantom and killed her quickly. Then on the same wave, Stasis her sister and another picked up the kill. Put a couple of rounds into her head for personal satisfaction. :P

Putting BE on Atlas is fun but Extraction Wave I ambushed the sod with a Cobra -- and it returned the favour with a missile strike. Imagine my surprise when it didn't blow up -- the missiles must have hit each other in flight.  <_< Since the launcher was up anyway, fed it a second round -- that did the trick. Then run along the corridor merrily setting fire to everything that moved. Did quite well there. Full Extraction.

Long night. Time to call it and head off to bed. :)

So miss one night, 4 games in. New rhythm.

So logged in as the Asari Adept. Can't fix her name. Anyway went into games, found a lobby.. hey all N7 <30s. Must be new. Fixed to Cerberus too. I'm good with that. Stayed with the team for the 4 games.. might as well.

White/ Cerberus. Stomped. Every. Cerberus. Team is a bit green but workable. Picked up every objective on one cap wave -- think the guy tailing me must be wondering how I knew where every objective was. White's a small map, wasn't too hard to orientate. Stomped to the top of table and stayed there. Demonstrated why it's a good thing to whip out the Cobra when you need it -- nailed an Atlas the team was having trouble with. Think we got a Partial Extraction here.. Host got shot down at the last minute, Soldier.

Giant/ Cerberus. Joined by a N7 400+ Level 1 Engineer, obviously levelling. This game too open and confused for my Adept to do well, so I just assisted as and when. Stasis my share of Phantoms and killed enough. Team is noticably more Cobra-happy. Extraction wave, ambushed an Atlas in the ass. Should be Full Extraction.

Dagger/ Cerberus. This is where the team really showed its green-ness. Capped the wrong spawn, and all running all over the space. Good teams will start at the sniping points and reduce the enemies down, and then break into pursuit. These guys just broke into pursuit. Noticed that the Host (still the same guy) had a strong tendency to get floored. Still managed to get the job done. Partial Extraction -- think the Vanguard went playing. Personally I nearly missed the clock too, but took a look and then got the heck back in.

Hydra/ Cerberus. Was only in this game for the credits to buy a Spectre pack. Had just levelled the Stasis into Bubbles. Got a bit bored during game and just went about Bubbling everything I can find. Not killing -- just Bubbling. :) I let my teammates take the kills. Only if they are busy, then I Bioplosion the Stasis'ed enemies.

Noticed that the Host (same guy ) was really not comfortable with engaging the enemy in close. He had a Striker, so I just froze targets for him to shoot. Then went around the map freezing stuff gleefully. Got Phantoms a lot, those I kill out of general principle.

Wave 10 Cerbies got the jump on us. :crying: Well actually I jumped the Atlas first when it exited the control room, I was a few paces away and Cobra readied... dead Atlas. Meanwhile, the Engineers managed to sneak by us and we got bottled.. only concentrated effort by the whole team cleared the place. After which we just mopped up.

Extraction Wave was fun. Started off Bubbling a bunch of infantry, which I took out; Then noticed an Atlas clean across the map -- took it out with a cross-map Cobra shot to the chest, a long range clean hit. After which, the infantry mass hit, so I went Stasis'ing to break the momentum -- once you can disrupt the rhythm sufficiently, the return fire is not so murderous and your teammates can get out of cover to start killing.

Full Extraction. As expected, bottom of table... didn't really care. Was sort of fun. I think the team must be thinking I'm loco or something, giving up clean kills. But really gotten too lazy to pull the trigger or the bumpers.

Hand itchy for games. 3 games tonight.

Kalistra the Asari Adept stepped up. Got into a PUG that prefer to fight Cerberus. Ok with me.

Condor/ Cerberus: Wasn't too bothered with the game -- went in with the intention of just Stasis'ing everything and let the rest get the kill. But.. mid-game, the Turian Sentinel dropped, so ended up having to play more seriously. Nothing too severe, though I did realise why Cerberus turrets are so much more effective here -- they are effectively camo'ed by the background colour, so it's a lot harder to pick them out at range. No real problem with the Extraction since we decided to play forward defense. Messed the attack, Full Extraction.

Giant/ Cerberus. There was this idiot infilitrator who just stuck around on barrel rolls. Wasn't interested in objectives or anything, just killed and stay alive. More or less like what I was doing, relaxing and killing time. Team wasn't too bad... until Wave 7. Host dropped. Infiltrator dropped. Restart Wave, 2 of us to do the whole Wave 7. Nailed the Phantom quickly with a Stasis and the two of us, Asari and Human Adept, just mopped up as quickly as we can.

Wave 8, 2 more guys popped in to assist. Thank goodness. Wave 10, ruined bunker hack; ran in, Atlas spawned in the next room already... ah what the heck. Kamikaze Cobra!... wait was that a Phantom? BOOM... nope, not any more.

Extraction Wave, standard ambushing of Atlas. Same idea, close in, groundstrike, cleared Atlas. Spent the rest of the game clearing Guardian shields -- the rest my team can handle. Full Extraction.

Dagger/ Cerberus. In the match only to pick up credits for a second Vet Pack. Good team, the same Human Adept, plus an Engineer with a Indra and someone else. Warmed up so quite a good match, lots of Bioplosion going around. Found a good spot for an Asari to stay between waves.

Managed to run clear through the array control to finally catch an Atlas in a Bioplosion that killed it -- was quite surprised. Got my share of Phantoms, and did yet another Kamikaze run with the Cobra -- starting to be this girl's trademark. Saw it spawn near the Array Control, swapped to Cobra -- hey wait it's a Phantom again! BOOOM... nope.

Extraction Wave, I think the team got the message that using a Cobra or two isn't a bad thing. The Atlas got flattened with a direct hull strike, a bit risky. After that, just cleanup and Full Extraction out.

My most memorable match ever was me and a friend, and two randoms. We were all Krogan Battlemasters, on Tuckunka. In between every wave, headbutt party. During each wave, we were just this fluctuating tidal wave-like blob of charging in a group. Every single enemy got mowed down. Any enemy that didn't die from the first charge would instantly be killed by one of the other three charging Krogies. The best had to be whenever an Atlas showed up, all four krogan would just run straight at it, charging it's legs. I have never seen an Atlas die so fast short of a rocket.

KROGANNNN!!!

Hah! Always good when good Krogans show up for games. I played a Krogan Sentinel recently, there was this game where another Krogan was coming up the ramp in Hydra and I was going down it. There was a Cerberus Trooper in between.

I never figured out where he went: Paste or Sky? :D

It's been a number of days since I last touched ME3 MP. Busy, tired, the usual. And I wasn't too pleased that the weekend event is another Gold event.

Logged in, pulled the Asari Adept out. I'm comfortable with her but not in Gold... still, I know I can survive Gold, just not contribute enough.

First game, dropped in to White/ Cerberus/ Gold. Wave 1, wipe. I was very aware of the team's position and had a sneaking suspicion... stayed with the group.

White/ Cerberus/ Gold, round 2. Wave 3, ran out of time. All assassination target were Atlas and there's only so much BE can do. And it confirmed my suspicions -- the team were using Bronze (or maybe Silver) tactics on Gold. No wonder such poor performance.

Next dropped in onto a Ghost/ Cerberus/ Gold match. Team knew their job -- I didn't. They picked me up many, many times. I was mostly doing Stasis duty plus BE on Atlas. Didn't grab high points but it got the job done. Extracted -- going to claim my pack.

Overall, not too happy with the glassiness of the Adept on Gold. I think I'll level a Infiltrator and keep her ready for Gold duties instead. I'm also not happy with the current crop of Gold events. I think it forces too many people out of their comfort zone, into positions where it imposes on others who may or may not want to help out.

Yeah if you meet a good PUG it's gold. :)

So, war stories aye? Kalistra the Asari Adept was 18, turned 19 today. 4 missions.

Reactor/ Cerberus
Hydra/ Geth
White/ Cerberus
Hydra/ Cerberus

Reactor was.. usual. Chaotic. Team was decent, though one guy didn't pick me off the ground at the end of Reactor hack when I caught a packet.. could have. Batarian, go figure. Ah well. Nothing really memoriable, though I have to say the Stryker seems especially useful in the tight environments.

Hydra/ Geth was ok. Two snipers, one something else. Most of the match I ended up just being a spotter for the snipers. Light the enemy up with Stasis bubble and just let the snipers take over. Why not? Faster that way. Almost forgot that I was fighting Geth, not Cerberus -- Hunters rudely disabused me of that notion! Managed to sneak up behind a Prime.. only to have the biotics target the wrong thing and wipe his drone. <_< Unfortunately, I was too eager to push back the mobs from a recovering team mate and didn't make the extraction -- just out.

Warmed up, so went into White/ Cerberus. I was already askewed that there would be a White/ Cerberus/ Bronze match (why?).. and the team proved to be green as leaves. Didn't spawn cap, got into each other's way, didn't hold the sniper perch.. good grief.  And I personally picked ONE guy off the floor enough times to get a medal. Just that one guy (Low level Sentinel with a SR IIRC. Sorts of tunnel visioned him I think. Kept flooring.) I felt like a mother hen.

Snucked up behind a few Atlas to BE them good. I did evolved the Warp to AP, so it worked out ok. One Hack objective wave was bad though, outside corner, and Engineers set up turrets. Our Sentinel dropped twice in the same location... BE the turret, pushed the rest of the idiot Cerberus out, and completed.

Extraction I stayed behind and ambushed the Atlas.. tailpipe Cobra IIRC. Then flanked a bunch of Guardians, Stasis Bubbled landing troopers for the snipers to hit, and we Full Extracted. And I'd like to think at least in the later waves they gotten more organized.

So 3 games down.. trigger finger itchy. Fourth, Hydra/ Cerberus... mistake. Tough match. Krogan Vanguard, an Asari, and an Asari Stasis Sniper. The first two obviously worked together before (similar gamer tag, probably a Clan), the Asari Stasis Sniper had enough time to get used to the idea.

And I was the fifth wheel. The Clanners didn't need me, and I just got into the way of the Stasis Sniper. Eventually I just stopped using the Stasis with her (double bubbling is pointless) and just warp/ throw. Worked out fairly ok.. Wave 6, Point Cap. Grabbed all 4, the rest were busy shooting. 'Cept that we seemed to have lost the sniper.. opps.

Managed to bag a couple of Atlas over the next two waves IIRC. One (and another assist) was by just staying on the upper platform on the Sluice Gates area. Atlas can't seem to bring firepower to bear if you are up there and BE will steadily wear away at it. Another Atlas I caught at the other end of the blue ball room, and was BE'ing it down but the Krogan floored; figuring it took something major to drop a Krogan, I Cobra'ed the Atlas in the crotch, at point blank...

(Aside: Mental image of an Asari women running up point blank to a hulking Atlas to deliver a crotch shot with a Cobra is.. amusing. Particularly as the crotch is fairly eye level to an Asari! :innocent: :innocent:)

So far I hadn't seen a single Phantom. Wave 10, Control Room Hack. Good grief.. began well, clean kill on a distant Atlas from the bunker to the water's side. Then it went sideways as Engineers managed to set up turrets and somehow a Phantom got in with us. I froze the Phantom at least twice but kept getting floored by turrets before I could kill it.. get up, get floored by Phantom and turrets. Same for my teammates, and just kept going round and round, until I said "screw this", run back into the bunker. One Cobra into a turret and the resultant gib feast took the pressure off.

Completed the hack with the Asari -- seems like the Krogan got Sync'ed -- to find the Phantom STILL alive (or another one). Seemed to be immune to Stasis by now... but not when she's trapped against the wall by a Stasis'ed Trooper and Guardian IIRC. BE something in there, thought I killed her, but turned out she was STILL alive... Finally IIRC warped her dead. Mopped up gradually... had a few turrets left to kill. And most consumables gone.

Extraction Wave, started off by walking out to the catwalks and scoring a distant hull kill on the Atlas starting near the bunker. Clean hit, think we got a killstreak for that. Pulled back and the pressure started to mount as Cerberus pushed. In the end I got so annoyed that I just started to only use Throw to do crowd management -- faster. But learnt the lesson from the earlier Hydra, made sure I was in the zone before the timer went down. Full Extraction.

Tiring. Shoulders aching by the time I finished. Given that I basically carried Wave 10 (Started killing the Atlas, then spree-ing with Cobras and Phantom hunting), wasn't too surprised to be top spot. Worked for that one. :)

Well I know I played 5 matches tonight but for the life of me I can't recall one... Oh right. Dagger.

Kalistra the Asari Adept is 19, two mission away from 20. So:

Dagger/ Cerberus: Very off team. Krogan, two Humans IIRC. Engineer and something else. Team didn't follow basic Dagger tactics, left spawns open left and right. First few rounds were annoying, since we now had to chase down Cerberus crybabies instead of slaughtering them on the pan. Went through the whole round without firing.. or very few rounds expended. Other than weird teammate placement, nothing really sticks out about this game. Full Extraction. Odd team is odd but not that incompetent.

Hydra/ Cerberus: Now this one's hot. Cerberus came out strong, and we had weird teammates. One's a Geth infiltrator with an odd sense of priority -- wasn't capping objectives, went for weaker mobs first.. During one objective wave I was out and was able to observe him. Human Vanguard who's good, and IIRC a Krogan.

One wave, managed to nail both Phantoms with Stasis (separately) and executed them with Warp-Throw. Was quite happy with that, only to have another Phantom ambush me and sync-kill me in the objective wave later. Payback, I guess. Snucked up behind an Atlas on the Extraction and stuffed a Cobra up the tailpipes, but I generally didn't get to do it often -- a very Cobra-happy teammate. Full Extraction.

Kalistra hit 20 but I didn't promote her -- thinking of keeping an Adept around in case of events. So I broke out a staple -- Human Infiltrator. Stacked in a Widow VII with Barrel/ scope. First time I'm using the scope, so give it a whirl.

First game the Human Infiltrator got into, was a glitch. Deployed out of lobby direct into Reactor, then immediately left the game and got a "successful mission" screen. Hope that's not an omen of things to come.

Ok, first proper mission. Condor/ Cerberus. Can't remember too much about this as I had a similar mission later. Was still getting back into stride so not so hot. Should be Full Extraction -- just no standout memory of this game.

White/ Cerberus was next; dropped in on Turn 2. Turns out there was another sniper with a Mantis (IIRC) and he was fresher, better at it. I warmed up though, and the heavier Widow made a difference... as did his connection, which dropped unexpectedly (or he quitted). Game generally was smooth, the Vanguard and Engineer knew what they were doing (though one of them kept getting scraped off the floor...). Managed to get multiple clean kills on Atlases, but not so much for Phantoms -- seems to be in short supply, not that I'm complaining. Extraction Wave, the whole team stayed back and played merry hell with the enemy. Pushed them back so far that I ended up with no ammo. Partial Extraction -- someone was playing a bit too hard.

Condor/ Cerberus, my last game. Yes I set to Cerberus, didn't want to work too hard these few days. This one is quite memorable. Team had IIRC 3 sniper and an Engineer. Started out on the mine side of the mountain, but to be honest quite dull since the primary spawns are on the other side. Over the turns it picked up in activity, so it wasn't so bad. But having 2 or 3 snipers on the team with big guns meant things ran very quickly.

Managed to pick off a Phantom or two over Turns 7 and 8 IIRC; managed to suppress one or two and took them out. Atlases too, since Widows are meant to kill them. Think I bagged at least 2 across-map Widow kills on Atlases.

Then came Wave 10, hack on the center structure. Think I managed to tag a Phantom, and was clearing the lower tier when a casual look behind showed another Phantom creeping up. Panicked tossing of Sticky Grenade ensured and the Cerbies too cover; Hack ended, and the team poured out of the bunker, only to see the Cerbies still sitting in cover.. including the Phantom. Lined up a shot with a Widow and executed her.. a bit overkillish to be honest. Bagged and tagged the rest, and we set up for Extraction.

Extraction went with forward defense and I picked up another Atlas kill IIRC. Also a few odds and ends, and ran the Widow dry. Retreated back and got Full Extraction for this one. Given the number of Atlases and Phantoms I killed, wasn't too surprised to end up second, with the engineer beating me to the top (by a good margin too). Need to look into that class soon...

Overall the Human Infiltrator was a great return to the class -- I missed sniping. Widow VII is a nice gun but 13+1 rounds is a bit restrictive IMO. The scope is somewhat useful, but I prefer more ammo to be honest.

Quick night. 2 matches only, both on White/ Cerberus.

It kinda sucks because 2 games on the same map just melts together. The first, a bit wonky because the host dropped on Wave 6 on an Assassination gone bad (too many turrets). Could have swung it but host just went. <_< Thankfully the system topped up the game. Good clean kills on Phantoms, and Atlas weren't too bad an issue. Full Extraction.

Dropped in on Wave 2 on the second game, which had two asari (one with a Mantis) and a Human something with a Javelin -- and he knows how to use it. I wasn't impressed with the weapon but he does know how to compensate. With two Asaris, it's not much of a game. Bagged myself a pair IIRC of Atlas and had a clean kill on a Phantom.. but still bottom of table, since the Asari worked well together and the Javeliner knew what he was doing. Full Extraction.

The scope worked great against Cerberus; on the second game during the Extraction Wave, I was able to score a number of headshots just because I was protected by the Centurion's smoke. And killing Atlas is easier when you can see him and he can't see you.

But getting bored of Cerbie hunting, think I'll switch over to random again. The Widow is a good gun but feels very heavy. Thinking whether to swap to the new Valiant II, but will miss the stopping power.

4 Games tonight. As per two nights ago, I let the system pick the opponent. Also swapped out the scope on the Widow for extra ammo -- found it more useful.

White/ Reapers. Dropped in on Wave 2. Wasn't too upset. Wanted to test against Reapers anyway. One wave was please to find that I could hunt for Marauders while depending on my teammates to keep the Cannibals and Husks busy. Had a good time taking Ravager out -- a single hit from a cloaked Widow shot tended to do the trick.

Had memorable Brute kills -- Brutes are quite manageable with Widows. One of them was during an objective cap game -- the team had scattered so I was able to end run one Brute which got to the sniper perch. Was running up the stairs and saw the Brute's backside pointed at me, so I obliged and shot his ass up just before capping #4. :)

Didn't do so hot against Banshees, as their teleports makes it harder. Did have one memorable Banshee which teleported to the spawn point above the sniper perch, and got stuck there.. we just shot her to bits, and as she was charging her shields up to teleport again, I managed to land a shot that disrupted her -- she died shortly after. So that little tidbit on the screen is true, after all.

Full extraction. Wasn't going to be a problem...

Reactor/ Geth. Reactor's a love-hate for me. I used to do well but off form tonight. Couldn't keep up with the team, team was ok; a Salarian Engineer who's good in a team, a Vanguard who was too green -- kept getting floored. The other was IIRC a Soldier who knew the job.

Wave 10, Cobra'ed the Prime and then somehow the Engineer and I got separated from the rest and got sandwiched between Hunters and Pyros. <_< <_< I was revived, went to revive another, got downed, got annoyed with the clustering of Hunters and Pyros over our bodies and just Killstreaked them away with a Cobra groundstrike. Think the Salarian was amused that I got annoyed...

Extraction Wave, got a good angle on the Prime as it spawned near the silos at the lower entrance of the reactor and got a second Killstreak with a Cobra groundstrike -- took care not to aim at it directly and caught the Pyros climbing up the stairs. :D Proceeded to flank the oncoming Pyros as they went up the ramp towards the extraction zone. Things got a bit hairy when I got flanked in return <_< and almost blocked from the EZ by Geth spawning from the small alcove, but a charge by one of the team and general sneakiness got me past the blockage. Full Extraction -- taking flanking potshots at the Geth slowed them down enough to make it not matter.

Giant/ Cerberus. Couldn't sync with the team. 1 Soldier, 1 Vanguard and 1 Engineer IIRC. Not great. Team was too eager to get kills and not quite working as a team.. it's Bronze, so that wasn't too bad. As an example, on one Wave a Nemesis was the last mob left. 4 of us clustering around her couldn't kill her <_< -- her evasion dodged most powers, while the Vanguard was shaking things up that I couldn't hit (and I wasn't on form anyway). It was embarassing to see the stupid Nemesis dodge away so easily from 4 experienced gamers.

Managed to get clean kills on Phantoms, at least one by myself and one with assist. Possible one more, but can't quite remember. Atlas kills were lesser since the team was a bit Cobra happy. I think managed to get a couple, but with the team eager to close and frag out, it is a bit confusing. Full Extraction, IIRC.

White/ Geth. Team was ok. One Human Adept, one Soldier, one N7 2K+ Asari Justicar. Problem with the 2K+er is that he basically was here to pass time. Not a team player, just kept to within the room and killed things; was one of the few to get floored before Extraction Wave (on Wave 7 IIRC). Was particularly frustrated because sometimes he'll be great and others he'll suck.. on Wave 6 Assassination, the 3rd target was just outside his room and I expected a good clean kill from him (having picked off the front 2). Ended up waiting in vain, and had to go forth and kill. Got floored for that too.. sheesh. <_<

Killed 3 of 4 Geth Primes in this game, the Widow is made for these targets. Just stayed at the top, get behind the pillar so that his shottie's not stun-locking me, and peek out to shoot. At that range, 3 shots and the Prime is down. :wizard:

Extraction Wave was a bit bad. Stayed to get the Prime, probably a mistake. The System threw a lot of Hunters and Pyros at us and the top area was swamped; we had to fight hard to get clear, so many Hunters up top. Partial Extraction, think either the Soldier was just out or got floored at the last moment.

Overall, getting back into the sniping saddle. Not quite adjusting to the Widow.. prefer the Mantis but there shouldn't be any real difference to handling (damage and Penetration aside). Feels the Valiant trains bad habits -- best to get the Widow/ Mantis to work properly.

Comparing back to my time with Kalistra the Asari Adept, I find that the Infiltrator needs to pay more attention to contribute to the team, whereas the Adept could just randomly toss bubbles out to trap things for the rest to kill. Feels easier if you're not out to hit personal targets.

Xhitaa:Thanks. I'm just recollecting.. I try to get it down as soon as the session ends, so that I don't forget much.

Tonight, 4 games.

Fire/ Cerberus
: Still using the Widow. Warming up to snipe is a bit tedious but doable. Didn't do great on this game, just too slow, and the general meta has changed -- teams prefer to defend forward at the "courtyard" area instead of letting the enemy close into a killzone. I miss the days when snipers can clean house quickly on top of the ramp while the rest of the team also pick off kills simply by letting the enemy walk into it.

One totally green BF3 Soldier. I meant really just off the boat.. low N7, same level Soldier. Kept going off to the tunnel side on his own, definitely get floored. One of the other teammates was meleeing him during waves, I'm not sure if they are friends or the guy was just trying to wake the BFer up...

Anyway I am a bit out of sync with the team. Wasn't too bad. Might have gotten an Atlas kill but with all the smoke (and me using extra ammo now) I can't be sure. What I can be sure of though...

Was coming down the ramp because I can't see targets (the team pushed into the buildings, I'm doing jack up there). So as I came down, a Phantom came around the corner looking to kill me.

Opps.

Somehow dodged her sword swipe, didn't dodge her shield-breaker shot, but did cloak in time for her to lose me. Then gave her a Widow headache. Or bodyache, not really caring at that point so long she GET THE HECK AWAY FROM ME!... uh.

The other Phantom on that Wave I managed to tag with a Widow body shot but she dodged most of it. Still she got killed by a teammate.

Extraction was simple, I ran around to ambush the Atlas but another teammate got it with a Cobra before I let loose mine... wasted one Cobra, ah well. Then got into the bunker and started killing things left and right, but somewhere along this line the BFer d/c'ed. Still managed a Full Extraction without him though.

Wasn't happy with the performance (dead last, though probably still higher than the BFer but that is to be expected). Sighed and pulled out the Valiant II.

Hydra/ Geth: I went into a lobby without thinking too much, just to realise as the timer hit 1 that I was in a lobby with THREE Vanguards.

Sigh. <_<

Surprisingly, it wasn't too bad. I mostly just pointed things out for them to charge with Valiant rounds and then I'll see a blue streak and the target (and friends) are in hot soup. Not much "rock your world" with the kind of Vanguard antics.. Hydra's big enough that the rocking is minimal.

Sniping is so much easier with the Valiant, it's not funny. With the Widow you are under pressure to make the shot count and usually you take so long to aim that the Vanguards already ate the target for lunch. <_< The Valiant makes it a lot easier to acquire and splatter rounds out.

Didn't managed to get any Geth Primes because Vanguards are a lot faster off the mark. Still, entertainment as I seeked out the mid-tiers to kill. Hunters are still spottable on Hydra so I managed to whittle them down. Extraction Wave wasn't too bad, we got Full Extraction out.

Hydra/ Geth
(again): No kidding, I got into another Hydra/ Geth fight. This time though.. three Infiltrators. All with SRs -- my Valiant, a Human with a Black Widow, and a Quarian with a Kishok <-- don't ask me why, I don't know either.

First Wave, bunch of Geth spilled out heading to the bunker control room. We splattered out a few rounds and then realised the little Quarian is being hit unsupported. So two of us headed over to support -- not ideal with SR but hey, you shoot with what you have.

We were cleaning up when I realised the Quarian has dropped to the ground level and was melee'ing the Trooper. What's that twit doing there? Shoot the bugger already.

Managed to pick off a few Geth Primes -- the RoF on the Valiant is so much faster that the B.W. can't hit as often. B.W. is still better as it can kill mid-tiers faster, but Valiant has a slight advantage killing Primes.

Extraction was hairy. I never recall seeing so many mid-tiers so eager to close. The Geth Prime was taken down early while we got hit by a swarm of Geths. Hard work clearing the zone, but we managed a Full Extraction -- nearly fouled that one, someone let a Hunter slip in before we could blow it away.

Frankly, I felt the game was easier with 3 Infiltrators than 3 Vanguards. The Vanguards run was in 15+ minutes, while the Infiltrators run was 16+ minutes IIRC. Thing is, you're usually trying to watch your flank wondering where the flank protection Vanguard went, but with Infiltrators -- and being an Infiltrator myself -- you know that your flank is more likely to be not flapping in the wind...

Fire/ Reaper: Last game. Got Fire -- I like Fire -- but wasn't given a chance to see who. Dropped in on Wave 2 start, with another slot-in. Capped a couple of Cannibals while clearing the LZ. Turns out to be a good team.

As I said earlier, nowadays the meta is to do forward defense and not let the enemy get into a prepped killzone. I adapted but the Reapers cooperated by usually spawning in the tunnel or the rooms below the control room. Eventually towards the end waves the team was letting the enemy into a kill box that we could effectively kill.

Wave 3 -- I think -- and it was a Hack over at the columns near the tunnel. I was at the sniper perch so decided to cut through the control rooms. Unfortunately, the System decided to spawn the first groups there, so I had to fight my way through. Nasty with Cannibals and Marauders in close and you're trying to get to the door... killing that many wasn't an option, so I cloaked and snuck through.

Unfortunately unfortunately, the stupid System decided to spawn almost ALL the wave's spawn in that room, right next to the hack point. So we were treated to a near constant stream of Cannibals trying to get down the ramp and ladder.  Cannibals being Cannibals, once they touched the ground, they forgot about business and made a beeline for the buffet line.. which we were happy to enlarge with each Cannibal.

Wave 6, Objective Cap. Somehow managed to run through all that Reaper crap and capped all 4 points. Teammates were busy but did make an attempt.

Wave 7~9. Banshees start showing up. Killed at least one; another got taken off by a Cobra when we could kill it. Last was sanded down but got taken by a Phaeston I think. Brutes too, but with a Valiant it was ok to take down. Takes a bit too long but I got my Brute kills too, including one that cornered me in a bull rush in the sniper perch -- he spawned downstairs, came up, I stayed long enough to knock him down to 1 bar.. and he charged, I killed him after it hit me with a Valiant shot.

Ravagers were particularly fun to hunt, because three shots will kill one, so you need not hesitate -- just empty the mag into one in one go. Had a particularly messy kill by my teammates on the sniper ramp, which made me have to wait for the acid to clear before getting into the perch.

Wave 10. Assassination. Banshee (1st target) IIRC got blown away fast; the Brute got tagged in the gib zone IIRC. The second target was a joke, a Cannibal that I capped off quickly. Then a Brute flanked us and it got nasty and problematic. Ran past the Brute, down to the columns, expecting to catch the next target... only to run into 2 Ravagers.   :crying: At close range, with Cannibal support -- no surprised, ate Ravager rockets and got floored. <_<

Didn't think there was any point waiting for teammates to revive me, so I medi-geled, got up, pulled out the Cobra and groundstruck.. No more Ravagers, and tagged #3 in the process too. Ran back up to the bunker/ LZ for #4, and nearly ran into another Ravager.. this time, it was alone, and I was more ready for it, so it died before I did. Cleaned up and mopped up for Extraction Wave.

Extraction Wave wasn't too bad.. Banshee got gibbed by someone's Cobra, but missed the Brute. I got into the party in time to assist or kill, can't remember. But we got ambushed when a second Brute showed up later... <_< Three of us got caught up in its embrace and we melee'd it to death. Lots of fire into the EZ but eventually we brought it under control. Partial Extraction -- someone wasn't in the circle towards the end.

Made top spot IIRC, over the Adept by just 300+ points. Sweet. :) Weapon choice did make a big difference. Valiant allowed me to clear small mobs faster and quicker, while the Widow was just overkill against most things. I don't like the way Valiant tends to teach bad habits, but its effectiveness, I can't argue.

3 matches tonight to get the Galaxy back to 100%.

Ghost/ Reapers: Got dropped in on Wave 2. At the end was #2.. go figure. Not too sure what happened, I'm fairly tired but still shooting far straighter than usual.

Anyway... 3 shooters on the front porch, I decided to take the back alley. More rewarding really, was killing mooks left and right. Ravagers are a specialty tonight as I know I can kill one in 3 shots, so I made it a point to single them out. Nothing really significant, except for IIRC Wave 10 Assassination -- back alley was so choked full of baddies that I had to groundstrike to clear enough room to work. Stayed out to kill things during Extraction and slowly fell back, but only got a Partial as some of the boys are busy having fun.

Glacier/ Cerberus: This one jolted me awake. The early parts are ok, usual snipe-Guardians-through-shields nonsense. IIRC, while the Wave 6 Atlas was crawling up the ramp, I was steadily killing it with cockpit shots. Got that one with just the Valiant. Wave 7 or so, Phantoms started showing up.. I nailed one just outside the small room at the staircase with a Cobra groundstrike splash on an Atlas. Then her sister came up the ramp from the basement, but I was able to get clean shots on her from upramp, nice kill. B)

Wave 10 was a hack, I was on the upramp, decided to head down through the basement to clear out any enemies. Turned out a whole bunch spawned there, and Engineers kept spawning in the little spawn point above and dropping down. I couldn't even get to the hack point, got so pinned by Engineers repeatedly setting up turrets that the other 3 got the hack by themselves.. embarassing. So incredibly annoyed that the Engineers spawned faster than I could hoof it across the basement. :pinched:

Extraction Wave. Atlas came up from the basement, and a pair of Guardians were coming out from the little room. Deliberately waited until the Atlas was nearly up, then shot the Cobra at the corner pillar -- splash damage killed Atlas, Guardian, Guardian, Trooper. Damn, missed the Killstreak by 1... then a Centurion ran into the room. <_< <_< Wandered around and we eventually Full Extraction. #1 IIRC, no surprise since the spawn camp literally drove the enemies into my crosshairs.

Glacier/ Reapers: Back to Glacier but a different kettle of fish. Front waves were normal, then Wave 5 or so, a pair of Brutes showed up -- a bit surprised, since that's not what I thought usual. Glacier's a small map so it can get rather chaotic, especially with Husks running around. Nice Quarian Infiltrator was nice enough to scrap a few husks off me.

Wave 10, Cap Objective. Banshee wail of course; but I expected my teammates to be able to kill her while I run for the objective.

Capped #4 (If memory serves), then ran up the stairs to the lab room. Turned the corner into a doorway and guess what? Banshee greeted me.   <_< Sheesh. Backpedal at max and got back out of the way, then pulled the Cobra to flush her and her pack mates away.. missed the Brute though.

Extraction, managed to see the Banshee early and IIRC sanded her down with the Valiant -- someone else took the kill. Same for the Brute, danced around the central pillar but someone else (I think the Quarian) managed to kill it. Stayed in the lab with the Batarian Sentinel (who eventually got #1), and we basically just kept the Reapers suppressed. 30 seconds and we went for the EZ -- no surprise, full extraction. #2, not too bad.

Overall, it seems that the Reapers are spawning heavier now, more Husks, more Brutes -- not sure if there were changes or we were just unlucky.

Human Infiltrator is 19, one mission away from 20; Asari Adept is 20; in view of Shieldwall coming up, I'll probably do up a Human Soldier for a change. Going back to CSSpam, Grenadier work -- should be fun.

So, I have a Level 20 Adept I hadn't promote, a Level 19 infiltrator with one more game to go before hitting 20. Logically, I'll have to get another chara to 20 for this week's challenge. :innocent:

So, Level 9 Human Soldier, spec'ed for grenades, CSSpam and Falcon. Always a blast to play.

4 games tonight, stuck with the same group more or less.
  • Hydra/ Geth
  • Ghost/ Cerberus
  • Reactor/ Geth
  • Hydra Reaper
Hydra/ Geth, went in with a Sally Engineer and 2 Drell Adepts. Should have been good. It was not.

Basically, one of the Drell was so green his gills were green. Kept getting floored. The other was much more experienced but not doing well. End of game the Sally was #1, I was #2.. a Level 9 Soldier outperformed a Level 19/ 20 Drell Adept.

Nothing really stood out from this match other than that. Grenadiers (Soldier/ Falcon) does well against Geth except for two things -- the Hunter and the Prime. The Hunter because the Falcon doesn't always hit the cloak to disrupt it, and the Prime because the Falcon is not well suited to killing armoured targets fast. Sally 'genie does well here as the ED work tremendously well, so it wasn't too terrible. Full Extraction.

Ghost/ Cerberus. Wake up call. Wasn't bad, just that it became readily apparent that the Drells were fairly useless. Incidentally one of the Drells was > N7 500 so there's not much reason why he's underperforming this way.

Action was hot, and one wave the System kept bursting a capped spawn point to deliver Troopers directly over my head. It wasn't as bad as it sounds because it gives me targets to shoot quickly. Killed at Atlas by flanking it and then getting behind it to bounce grenades off it. Ran into a Phantom and Concussive Spammed it, but a Drell reaved her dead.

Wave 10 was a hack and I'm ashamed to admit that I got brought down by a turret in between Wave 10 and 11. :( Got picked up, thankfully. Extraction was confused as the Atlas droved into our side and bought time for the infantry to consolidate in the building to the side of the EZ. Still, firepower threw them back and eventually we got our Full Extraction.

Reactor/ Geth, We lost the Salarian here, and gained a Human Soldier. It didn't work out. Team turned a bit too kills-centric and as a result we wiped on Turn 6. Wave 6 was basically a hack and when I took off for the hack zone it turned out too heavily defended.. and got floored. The rest didn't arrive in time, and I got to shoulder surf the N7 500+....

... and turns out he was not using his biotics. Hand-to-hand by preference. So when he's last one alive, he couldn't kill anything worthwhile. So wiped and loss on Turn 6. Learnt a valuable trick for the Falcon in Reactor though -- aim low. The bounce will be less severe and more controllable.

One last game to drive up Galatic Readiness. Hydra/ Reaper. hmm, like a full circle. Lost the soldier, gained an Asari Adept. 3 adept games, but on surface only. Turns out the Asari knew what she was doing, so BEs started popping. Also one of the Drell decided to do work, so more BEs. Overall a decent game, had some issues killing Ravagers but judicious use of cover block most of the damage.

Wave 10 was assassination and I got treated to a sight of a burst spawn -- Banshee, Brute, 2 Ravagers and IIRC a Marauder. Swapped to Cobra in time to splash the Banshee and the Brute, while damaging one Ravager badly. Got floored by the Ravagers for my trouble.

Still, Wave 11 was a wash. We got hit by too many things and while I managed to kill the Banshee, the second Brute got into the Zone and we weren't able to clear it. Followup units broke the team's back and we ended up dead.

Very enlightening to see that the Grenadier didn't have much options at my level. Gotta learn how to work the weapon to get around that.

the highlight of today. I just finished playing with a leecher on my team. Fun times, lost with reapers on wave 9/gold. One of my teammates got thrown under the map and had to leave the game so the remaining player and I had to go through couple of waves alone.

Zimek: Sucks when you have a leech on the team. Let's see how the new anti-leech measures work up...

I did take part over the weekend, it's just that there was a convention and I was involved. Played, just didn't record down the matches here.

Just want to note here that my unsung hero, the Female Human Soldier spec'ed for Grenadier duties, was very impressive. She managed to:
  • Get at least one Killstreak without using a Cobra (or frag grenade), just spamming the Falcon.
  • Got my second 10 Waves Survived medal.
  • Got my first AND second 3 Killstreaks medals.
Overall she performed well above expectations. Her last few missions on White/ Reaper, Ghost/ Cerberus and Glacier/ Cerberus, she shone well. White/ Reaper, she usually managed to lock down the Hallway room with the Cryo Falcon.

Ghost/ Cerberus, she managed in one or two waves to freeze the whole wave at the staircases and landing points across the pit so that the sniper can shoot at them. Also managed to kill a Phantom with nothing but Concussive Shot and a couple of Falcon rounds. Top of table IIRC for this one.

Glacier/ Cerberus, on the Extraction wave, she ended up on the lower basement and locked down and killed an entire spawn. Then rounded back up into the Science Lab in time to lock down another spawn in the Hub. Then turned around and faced down another mob in the Lower Basement. Crowd Control is incredible when the circumstances is right.

Overall she did very well, and I promoted her to fulfil the challenge requirements. But she'll be back.

Right now trying out the brand new Geth Infiltrator I managed to get. Spec'ing him initially to be a GPShottie, but not getting into the groove of it -- the charging-break cloak is a bit hard to get around for me. Giving the Reegar a try but will do that tomorrow.

Managed to get a game on Jade. To be honest, a bit disappointed. Then again, I was in Hunter mode and everything looked.. normal. The map is quite small IMO, and I need to play it more to see the point of the map. It is a 15% readiness increase for the zone it is in, which is very surprising.

It is a most unsatisfactory night.

My newly minted GI went out many times but usually crashed out of games. The only two games I completed tonight were because I airdropped in on later waves and completed from there. Little money, XP was nice, but not a fun experience.

Partly my ISP, partly that IMO the EA Servers are overwhelmed as people come back to take a look at the new stuff.

Anyway.. Two that I completed. Jade/... Reaper, I think. And Dagger/ Cerberus. Was using Reegar in the first IIRC, and Krysae on the second -- just trying things out.

Reegar in Jade/ Reaper is nice. Tight quarters, so the range limitation that Reegar functions under isn't so bad. Hunter Vision is a bit painful but more annoyingly, had me respraying a Salarian wall with Reegar shots. <_< <_<

I'd place Shredder and Ammo on the Reegar, so it sorts of melts through everything. However, because of the animation and the close nature, I tended to hose the thing around like a flamer and waste shots. It's not a great weapon in that sense, very wasteful of ammo. And it didn't have a lot to begin with, even with the extra ammo. Reegar is not easy to use but decently strong with a little practice.

In some of the failed games, I'd tried with Scimitar X with AP and ammo. Now that's a good combi. I'd probably stick with it. Jade/ Cerberus and Condor/ Reaper was a blast with Hunter Vision giving me a clue as to what's around the corner, and Tactical Cloak to ambush them with shotguns to the face. I'll probably stick with that -- didn't like the GPS, don't feel comfortable with the Reegar, Scimitar's a good compromise. I'd have to see if trading the ammo for Shredder is useful.. would have liked to try the Crusader.

So having sorted out my Shottie, it's time to play with other stuff. First of all, GI, so Krysae. Ow. It's not as terrible as others make it out to be. It has a small clip, so it's iffy (and I had ammo on it too). It's flight time is slow, to the point where I can't even be bothered to snipe at moving targets.

On the plus side.. blast radius, and nice gib animation. Gotta love carnage animation on kill. Blast isn't so big, but is still useful. The variable zoom is pointless, really.

The Dagger/ Cerberus game I got into was FUBAR'ed. I joined in an Objective Wave, should be 3. Then skipped to 7 (maybe I remembered wrong), then to 9, 10, Extraction. Totally confused. Krysae not so good against Phantoms -- she's a tad bit fast on the evasives, so you got to get lucky with the shot. But if you are spawncamping, the Krysae is useful.. though I personally prefer the Falcon, for flexibility.

Having a bit of trouble sync'ing with the GI. Hunter mode makes it hard to see but is very useful -- X-ray vision makes it more possible to utilize Tact Cloak for ambush, I recall seeing two Guardians approaching around a corner in Jade, then cloaking to run past them and turn on them for the kill. It also replaces the Scope on a SR, which wonderfully limits the decisions on how to mod a SR (Krysae: Can't use AP, no point with a Scope, leaving only Damage and Ammo... simple choice).

I'll probably settle down into Scimitar Shotfiltrator soon enough, but I think I'll experiment with the Valiant a bit first before going back to the Shotgun.

Bad night. The new matchmaking system makes it a horrendous experience, plus my ISP is being conky. Between the two, I could only finish one game, and that's a Silver match that I dropped into at Wave 7 or 8.

Another Silver game wiped on 10. Both Hydra/ Cerberus. This Wave 10 Wipe was using a Krysae III; the completed was a Valiant II. Basically -- Valiant is still better IMO.

Landed some good shots on the Phantoms with the Valiant, and had fun with the Krysae blowing things up from afar. "Portable Missile Launcher" is a good descriptor.

Geth Infiltrator's Hunter mode is very useful for both sniping and stalking. In a Goddess/ Cerberus/ Bronze game I was dropped off later, I was rampaging through the Cerberus; Hunter mode allowed me to see where they are (especially with extended range evo), and then Tact Cloak plus Hunter Mode movement increase meant I could get very close very fast. Shottie to face!

Problem now is that the Scimitar X is not quite sufficient -- I need something with a better kill power. Will need to look for something to replace it. But other the Shotfiltrator looks good.

Tried to get in more gamesthis afternoon to compensate for a crappy night last night. Between my ISP, EA server, and the crap Matchmaking, it wasn't healthy.

Was running my GI setup. Swapped from Scimitar to Disciple, found it better but still not quite great.. mostly is the 4 round mag.

I got dropped into a Wave 9 wipe Gold match. Sigh. Seems like I'm raising my Galatic Readiness by attending failed missions.. Wonderful, Bioware.

Later, a Jade/ Reaper mission. Team was around N7 400~600; someone was... whimpering.. about a lone Banshee. On Bronze. I don't know. As a player, I've killed enough Banshees on Bronze with so many different classes that I know they can be handled, especially as a full team. Team wasn't that great, I guess. I think I did get sync-killed by a Banshee as I was kiting her on that match.

Extraction wave, I got blocked from the EZ by the Brute's body which I just killed. Grr.. Got revived but no time to get into the zone, so Partial.

Also ran a good Goddess/ Cerberus match. Good grief GI cloaked and Hunting is a monster on that map. Snuck up on so many Cerbies it wasn't funny any more.. Creep in, shottie to the face, scramble out, recloak and repeat. Goddess is good for that due to the close in, but multiple access nature; Glacier might not work out as great.

Didn't feel the Disciple was appropriate. It was good, but that lack of a fifth round was problematic, especially when I ran into a group of 3 Cannibals. Each takes about 2 rounds to the body to kill, so that runs me out by the time I kill 2.. leaving #3 very angry and me with an empty shottie. So I swapped to a Katana.. 5 rounds, less reserves, but should work out.

Jade/ Reaper. Yeap. Worked out. Team was better, two Salarian (1 Infil and 1 Engineer) and either a Krogan or Turian.. think Krogan. Not say easy due to the nature of the map, but under control. I managed to ambush a pair of Ravagers bunkered in the far right corner, saw them spawn, shottie the front one a few times then retreated. Took care of the husks tracking me, and then cloaked and went back -- the Ravagers got distracted and I got great flank shots. A few Katana rounds later and I got 2 acid pools. Moved over to the other side and IIRC caught a Brute on the backside; kill or assist. Ravager, kill. Good Wave there.

Extraction Wave, Banshee came up and locked on me. That's fine, was on the left side columns anyway, so I proceed to kite her around the column, pinging away at her with the shottie until my teammates got into position; they took the kill, I took the thrill. :) Full Extraction.

GI, Tact Cloak/ Hunter Mode/ Shottie build is tremendously fun, but also stressful -- you have to get in very close to get the job done, but you do have great tools. Hunter Mode in particular is a great asset as it allows you to see where the enemy are coming from. I quite like it, and will dust off the build again, but it's became a bit stressful. Will promote it off eventually.

Cap off the night by sending off the GI, and bringing back an old friend...

Played a few more games with the GI. Much the same.. Goddess/ Geth, Glacier/... Reaper I think. GI Shotfiltrator dominates on Goddess because of the rooms are way too easy to infiltrate; sneak in, shoot somebody up, run away. It gets a bit.. odd, playing on that map.

Glacier is much the same, though it's more a roundabout way. Still, sneaking left and right and shooting Cannibals in the face makes fun.

Dropped into another Jade/ Reaper game, this one had more promise as I could sneak around and prioritize on Ravager. A whole mag will drop a Ravager with cloak bonus, so I made it a point to hunt them quickly. Got quite a few of them, even bypassing a Brute on my way to one.

Evenutally, got the GI up to 20, and promoted him. To be very honest.. not too sad to see him go. The playstyle is fun, but not something I want to do all day.

... and brought back Lynette the Grenadier, at Level 1. She's going to have to crawl back up again. First game, White/ Reaper, with Cryo I ammo. Good grief even at Level 1 she's contributing. Hallway room spawns invariably draws a storm of bouncing grenades and they get locked down heavily.

The team had a pair of Quarian/ Geth Engineers so lots of turrets, not very good placement though. Bouncing grenades underneath Ravagers seemed to hit some weak point, but I'll have to investigate that further. Lynette turns out to be a fairly good "mule", since she could move and use the Falcon to stagger the enemy in front of her. And the trips she had to make were short, Hallway to Landing Pad only.

Next game, Glacier/ Reaper. Ooh boy. Not too bad, as things go. Went in with Incinerate ammo -- running low on Cryo. Had a couple of early waves where I just went down the ramp and wiped out the entire spawn. Incinerate I doesn't seem to light things up but still do extra damage, so I'm happy anyway.

Couple of Brutes that ran up while I was raining grenades down. Turns out to be effective, most of the Brutes are low on health by the time they got upstairs. I got sync killed once by a Banshee -- mistake on my part, thought she was locked on somebody else. Other than that, running escort for the mule was fun, just used the Falcon to clear a path.

So now, the Grenadier build is pretty much a staple in my stable, next to the Infiltrator Sniper build. Will have to try this one out a bit more, then see if my new Scorpion can find a home. Got to give some of the other classes a try now.

It was supposed to be a quick night...

Lynette the Grenadier started the night by getting into a good Goddess/ Reaper fight. Loaded with Disruptor ammo, I think I managed to prove to the assembled team that the Falcon has a place in the inventory.

Started camping the Elevator Access spawn by squatting at the ammo point across at the end of the Main Hallway. Deliberately tried to visually suppress the circular area spawn, and whenever some stupid Reaper showed up in the Elevator room, Falcon rounds and grenades lobbed across. It was a lockdown and Disruptor ammo seems to have a decent effect on Reapers. Actually managed to Tech Burst something! Camped to the point where the very friendly Asari Justicar came over to bubble us, too! :)

Didn't really do much at Banshees, just lobbed a couple of cursory rounds at one. Brutes got most of my attention; danced with a couple around and Goddess is open enough to survive it. Gotten decently good at getting a frag grenade underneath Ravagers -- one Wave, two showed up in the Elevator room. Frag and Falcon out, 2 dead Ravagers, then turned around and toss another grenade under a Ravager that snuck in the other way. Full Extraction on this.

Stayed with the team, Reactor/ Geth next, on a whim put Cryo ammo in. Dominated the Geth. Didn't planned for it that way but Wave 1 I just walked up to the lower door and waited... and utterly crush the wave which tried to come down singlehandedly. Wave 2, Asari Justicar came over for a nice Bubble, and the team crushed the spawn just sitting there. Geth just couldn't get a break. Even a Geth Prime in a later wave was crushed inside the Reactor room this way.

As a side note, I never evolved the AR, and actually never used the AR. Falcon RoF is fine when you're not trying to kill people with it. :)

Extraction wave, think I picked off a Prime with a late grenade, then scrambled out. Got to the EZ, and then started lobbying Falcon rounds down the passageway outside Overlook. Seriously effective; Spawns are channeled into that narrow passageway which Cryo just loves. Really massive kill count there. Full Extraction, no surprise.

Third game, Goddess/ Cerberus. Went with warp ammo, trying out. Not so effective IMO. Basic strategy applies, killed a couple of Atlas this way by lobbing frag into the room as they appeared. Think I tagged a couple of Phantoms with the Falcon too. Nothing out of ordinary, though I got downed at Extraction, so Partial.

Took a break to open some packs, and finally got the customization options for the Female Infiltrator. So we welcome back another staple to my stable, the Female Infiltrator.. now sporting N7 colours. She's quite iconic to me as I played Infiltrator in the SP. Always will have a soft spot for them.

So, to celebrate -- Giant/ Cerberus. Ran into one of the earlier teammate hosting, so that's a pleasant surprise. I had a double-take moment on Wave 1 when all the teammates made a run for the Control Room Ramp... hey, these are old hands who played with the older setup! :D Gotta say that's one advantage of the new matchmaking system.

It was a tremendously good game. Valiant is always a good gun to play with, and with the old style sniping post active I racked up good scores.. #2, IIRC, as a Level 3 Infiltrator. Got 2 Phantom kills for sure -- one deliberate headshot + body (headshot still works for Phantoms), another reflex bodyshots.

Ran the magazine dry (34 shots!) on an Escort mission, was too busy killing spawns to notice and was embarassed to have to retreat before a Trooper. Was the package delivery for another wave, that went quite well since I could still see and shoot.

Really did miss the simple infiltrator, and Giant. I usually have fun here, since it's just the right balance for it.

Anyhow. I now have a Level 20 Engineer that I never deployed, thinking whether to use it to see what the Geth Engineer -- just unlocked -- is like. Probably will, then promote it out of the way.

4 games tonight.

The Human Infiltrator got trotted out first. Wanted to warm up. Got.. Dagger/ Reaper. Ran riot. Valiant on that map dominates.. and I wasn't really using TC either, so much for TC being overpowered.  Had AP ammo so rounds just kept going. Made it a point to go after Brutes and Ravagers but I got my Banshee too. Full Extraction.

Next is Hydra/ Cerberus, with Disruptor. very good, very useful ammo; Overload-style stagger, with shield damage, good on Cerberus. Went after Centurion with a passion, but don't remember killing any Phantom, just out of position, and without any real fitness the HI is just a bit squishy.. dropped many times. When I could snipe though, dominated strongly.

Took a break from Infiltrators and went with Lynette the Grenadier. Giant/ Cerberus first, lackluster. Just couldn't get the bounce right, and not really sync'ed with the team. Did managed to grenade or Concussion a Phantom though. Extraction Wave, had a good time tossing grenades and Cryo ammo all over the place, while the Vorcha spread fiery love around.. talk about Fire and Ice. Full Extraction.. actually downright quiet by the time the shuttle got around. :D

Last mission, Dagger/ Reaper. Again not sync'ed. Not quite getting the job done, not sure what's wrong. Got decent results, including a few Brute kills and Banshee kills, but went after Ravagers hard.. still screwed up a bit. Otherwise, strong crowd control, so wasn't too bad. Full Extraction.

A bit tired of the Falcon. It's a fun gun but you need some variety from time to time. So I put a few points into AR and picked up the Scorpion.. time to see what kind of minefield an AR'ed Scorpion will lay down.

So, post Matchmaker change. 4 games.. not so hot, but you roll with what you got.

Condor/ Reaper. Dropped in IIRC, but didn't matter. Back to Lynette the Grenadier using Falcon, so wasn't expecting much problems if the team is somewhat together. Early waves are fine, some kills notably a few Brutes by way of grenade bounces.

Wave 10, I got floored doing Objective #2. Nobody came by to pick me up, and I'm in the midst of a consumable stockpiling drive. So bled out. What happened later was most amusing...

Krogan already got brought down, nobody picked him up either. Drell and Asari Vanguard sniper left. Neither made any moves to cap the remaining objectives. Just kept trying to kill a Banshee and a Brute. Then the Drell buys it. Finally as the clock winds down, the Asari started to kite the Banshee around while trying to get to the objectives. #2 she got to it, barely got away from the Banshee. Continued to mess around with the Cannibals -- kept meleeing or charging them, basically wasting time.

So she finally got to #3, having somehow killed the Brute and quite a few Cannibals. She sits, she caps, she got sync-killed by the Banshee creeping up behind her! <_< <_<

No, not very good at it, are they?

Anyhow, I thought, nevermind, I'm just killing time, stick with the team. Next: Hydra/ Cerberus. Might as well pull the infiltrator out for some fun. And it was fairly fun as things go. Got a pair of confirmed kills on Phantoms, one via headshot, another got a kill when she cloaked. Nice. Also an Atlas that I just shot apart with the Valiant.

Wave 10, Capping. #1 down in the courtyard, cleared some trash out including a nice Phantom kill. Proceeded to cap, and suddenly two teammates down. Finished the cap, started to stand, and the Phantom's sister sync-killed me.  <_<

Fairly competent Level 20 Vorcha left. So should be doable, sort of... then the host rage-quit. <_< <_<. No, not very good at it. Hit the wrong button and gone out of lobby, should have stayed and take whatever I had coming.

So pulled the Grenadier back out, went looking for random game. Ghost/ Reaper, DIG at start Wave 10. Scrambled in and got in a nice kill on a "target" Banshee on the Main Street side -- bounced enough grenades off walls to hit her. Also had a good line drive shot down to a Ravager on the Central Pod, so good kills.. as well as the usual suppressive kills on the opposite building.

Extraction wave was fun, Nothing came down the Back Street so I went back to the Main Street. Plenty of things flying through and got a good Brute kill as I danced out its way; second Brute kill seconds later when a second Brute came through the buildings along the Alley. Once we got those downed, the pressure eased as the system coughed Husks at us for a while (which I didn't bother with shots; Concussive spam took care of them). Full Extraction -- Finally. Guys look fairly competent!

So stuck with this team. Hydra/ Geth. Fun and games. Had Cryo loaded again, so down came the rain. Suppressed a good part of the initial spawns, but I had a vorcha, and looks to be two vanguards. And someone had a Krysae too. So lots of things going boom.

Host was very itchy with the Cobra, since I had a couple of Primes grounding down when his Cobra flew in from the side. I honestly wished he didn't, since one was like one bar away...

For some reason, my Concussive/ Cryo shots doesn't seem to be duo-shotting the Geth Troopers. Got to look into it. Some hairy moments as things I thought I had killed got back up. Also, the host seems to be not doing a very thorough job -- seems that he keeps leaving things half-alive...

Extraction Wave, managed to predict where the Prime's coming from and had a good time whittling him down (only to have a Cobra come in from the side...). Then as we pulled back to the EZ, more mid-tiers came.. but found a good spot to avoid getting pincered, and started laying down sustained fire with the Falcon. Frozen, beaten back and denied, the Geth can't do much except wave as we board the shuttle.

Lynette the Grenadier is pretty matured already, at level 19. Not sure if going to promote, I have no for or against actually. I've tried her out with the Scorpion, potential is there but need to work at the gun a lot more. So went back to Falcon, maybe revisit Striker next time.

The Human Infiltrator is well burnt in with the Valiant, but I should give the Indra a try too. That might happen tomorrow.

3 and a third game. The "third" was hilarious.

Wanted to test out the Indra, so brought the Human Infiltrator out. Giant/ Cerberus. Good gods, who thought the Indra was a good idea? Very close to a spray and pray SR. I was chopping -- not shooting! -- Cerbies left and right. Guardians take a bit longer for the AP to work but unleashing a full clip into frontal will deal with him.

Even the fearsome Phantom got buzz-sawed to bits. Phantom spawned in the Terminal building, started coming down a ladder. Spotted her and basically pelted her with Indra shots until she fell over and died.

End of game, I was #1 or #2, with fifty headshots. Fifty! The gun's not very sane. :pinched: Not broken or OT, but doesn't function very well traditionally. Good for a laugh though.

The "one third" game next. Hydra/ Geth. Wave 3, Escort.. guess what? I picked up the package, got floored.. and yup, the stupid thing dropped beneath the catwalks. No way to reach it, we spent 2 minutes trying. Bah. :pinched:

Second full game, stowed the Indra and brought out the Valiant. Much more satisfying game. Reactor/ Reaper. Camped mostly at the bottom since I finally worked out the optimal spot. First few waves were horrendous.. for the Reapers. Just tore them to shreads. Even Brutes couldn't stand up to the firepower.

When the first Banshee showed up, I had a ephinany. Here I was, with a Valiant with the Piercing mod.... loaded with Disruptor rounds. And I'm facing an enemy with Barrier and Armour... Good gods the Valiant just raped the Banshee and I normally don't use such language. :innocent: Basically, every round with a Banshee? I was hunting her, not the other way round.

Also had one memorable kill where I turned a corner and looked straight at a Ravager. 3 rounds into center mass, Ravager Poo.

Extraction wave was a hoot. Quickly finished off the Banshee, then got into the sniping spot for the corridor outside the Overlook. It was a slaughter. System couldn't keep up with the losses and there was a pause, then a handful of Cannibals and Husks came out.. dealt with them cleanly, then Full Extraction.

Was a game I worked in. #1 or #2, not sure. Did walk away with the knowledge that Valiant + Disruptor is almost a shoo-in. Now Banshees aren't a real problem any more.

Last game.. in prep for this weekend's event, I recruited a Male Quarian Engineer. Level 20 without even touching the class since I promoted the Salarian Engineer.. sheesh that many Engineer cards?

Anyway, Kelgar the MQE stepped up. Was curious about the Tact Scan and Arc Grenade, so went and spec those, along with Incinerate. Pushed him onto the Shuttle, and off he goes.

White/ Reaper. Last minute guy. Vorcha with a Krysae, IIRC N7 2000+ Level 19. Ooook.. pretty much he dominated, he knew how to use the SR and ran amok with it.

Kelgar is probably the most boring Quarian anyone met. Occassionally, he'll dial up some stuff on his watch to scan the Brute or Banshee or Ravager, but basically that was it. A bit of plonking off Disruptor Falcon rounds, then got a couple of Tech Bursts too.

Tact Scan is powerful. Spec'ed for weapons damage and duration, plus area scan. Brutes just melt away, Banshees are no better. I personally think a MQI with Tact Scan is a better use, but MQE works.

Predictably, the Krysae dominated and Kelgar twiddled thumb. Got a bit complacent, Wave 10 #1 got taken down by Ravagers sneaking around. Got to watch a fairly inept team not go for objectives, until the Vorcha had to go for it himself. Ah well. I was snoozing anyway. -_-

Extraction wave, FINALLY got a chance to see what an Arc Grenade does. Impressive, really. Gotta get in more use. Caught both Banshee and Brute in the AoE, then plonk off enough rounds with the team to kill them all in the hallway. Then a quiet stroll back to the Landing Pad, Full Extraction.

Valiant + Disruptor is going to be very common now. It breaks Banshees fairly badly. MQE, a bit boring, I can picture him sitting down and sipping tea, while occassionally firing off a tact scan or an incinerate. Have to get in more games, to see what he's really like.
