I'm starting a new thread for the sake of clarity. My Do All Local Posts is broken, but 36 hours ago wasn't. It happens only with exteriors. Interiors post just fine. Here's the error:

E: 19:29:46 - Could not save lightmaps ERF F:\\\\\\\\BioWare\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\AddIns\\\\\\\\21313\\\\\\\\assets\\\\\\\\art\\\\\\\\test_05.erf

The error occurs immediately upon saving the newly created level. I think it is the reason my Do All Local Posts aren't working. I've eliminated most/all other alternatives through searching the forum, wiki, re-installation and ouija board.

Can anyone tell me why I receive this error? Thanks.

The reason behind this error is that your toolset locks the file and for some reason never unlocks it again. I can only save once after changing lightning, after that I have to restart the toolset. So if you encounter this error, close the toolset, reopen it, and do your lightning stuff again. It's annoying, but this way I can get around this bug.

can't you manually delete the erf? There should be no problem as most of the info of your levels are stored in the .lvl.

This error occurs the moment I create the area, long before I even try to do anything with the lighting.

I can't create the erf to delete it.

I'm still very stuck, 48 hours in. 48 hours ago I could post to local. I don't want my first serious hurdle to be my last, so I'm asking for help. If I can't solve this problem, I can really see myself losing interest. For 2 weeks I've been building, and now this.

Please help.

Further update: everything works when I do it separately. I generate walkmesh without a hitch, I render the lights without a hitch.

I Do All Local Posts and I get this, every single time:

E: 19:38:30 - Local Posts Failed!

S: 19:38:30 - Export Summary, 1 Requested, 0 Success, 0 Skipped, 1 Failed. Please see below for more details.

I: 19:38:30 - Offers.xml file has been updated successfully.

I: 19:38:30 - AddIns.xml file has been updated successfully.

I: 19:38:30 - Generated the campaign file.

I: 19:38:30 - PostProcessing

E: 19:38:30 - 3.lvl - Exporter FAILED for resource: 3.lvl

W: 19:38:30 - SanityCheck: No lightmap atlases found. Using legacy non-atlased lightmap data instead.

W: 19:38:30 - No lightmap atlas found. Falling back to display legacy lightmaps in editor.

I: 19:38:30 - Starting local export and post...

Reinstalled everything (toolset, database, game, python)

1. Created new module

2. Created new level

3. Saved new level (first error received:E: 16:51:25 - Could not save lightmaps ERF...)

4. Hit the + Button, added relevant entries

5. Added start point

6. Generated walkmesh

7. Added light (ambient)

8. Render lightmaps

To this point, with the exception of the error mentioned at 3, everything works fine

9. Do All Local Posts:

E: 16:52:06 - Local Posts Failed!

S: 16:52:06 - Export Summary, 1 Requested, 0 Success, 0 Skipped, 1 Failed. Please see below for more details.

I: 16:52:06 - Offers.xml file has been updated successfully.

I: 16:52:06 - AddIns.xml file has been updated successfully.

I: 16:52:06 - Generated the campaign file.

W: 16:52:06 - No starting area specified for campaign.

I: 16:52:06 - PostProcessing

E: 16:52:06 - 1.lvl - Exporter FAILED for resource: 1.lvl

W: 16:52:06 - SanityCheck: No lightmap atlases found. Using legacy non-atlased lightmap data instead.

60 hours ago it was all working, but now it doesn't. I've made at least 10 levels already which I've got in areas now. Can someone please help me?

Did you get the lightmapper patch from the main toolset forum?

Yep.

My other problem is that I can't seem to get beyond the Lightmap Render when I try Do All Export Operations. It gets stuck there indefinitely. Didn't you say Driggan in another thread that doing the Export Operations solved your similar problem?

Well, after reinstalling regular Python for 2.5.4, and adding the Winaddons, certain levels took anywhere up to an hour to complete. At first I thought it was stuck too, but found out it was just taking an obscene amount of time. Could that be what's happening with you?

But yeah, generally after I render maps, they seem very, very screwed up until I Do All Export.

Huh, so I tried following the order you said up there and got the same errors. Then I tried to redo the Exportable Area again after the failed local posts, and local posts worked after that.

Try that out.

I've waited 3 hours to have a Do All Exports finish a 32x32 exterior with nothing in it but a light. It simply stalls.

Sadly your solution doesn't work for me. I'm grateful for the help though.

One last thing to try, I tried making two levels, one named 'test5' and another named '1' and made them both with the exact same method you used, as you described it. I used a number because I saw in your logfile that you do the same.

'Test5' managed to go through the exporting process properly, while '1' didn't. It might have something to do with the lack of letters or the name being too short. Anyhow, give this a shot.

Male or female, animal, vegetable or mineral, I could kiss you right now.

My sincerest thanks. You've bought 3 days of increasing anguish to an end. You've also proven, in your efforts to provide genuine assistance, that there is considerable hope for this community.

It worked. Bless you.

Uh...wow...this is depressing. I have (had) indio's exact same problem. But my title didn't just have a number. Well, time to go bemoan my fate as The Little Modder Who Couldn't.
