Nope. I didn't hear anything about them before i saw them. I picked a colour, sat back and went 'huh, that was awful... I'll try again and go for another ending'. Then I discovered that that ending was the same. Then I came to BSN.
Who here thought the endings couldn't be that bad before you beat the game?

I too thought the endings i'd heard about couldn't be "That bad" and was hoping that seeing them for myself would invalidate the rumors...wish i had cancelled my CE now.

I braced myself for downer endings or hard choices or even Soprano style ending after hearing the first murmurs about ****fest 2012 (also known as RGB ending).
But no way could I expect it to be so disconnected from what this game (or any game) was about.

I had heard about how bad the endings were but I figured it was just people overreacting. When I beat it I actually couldn't believe how pissed I was for not only the devs lying to me but also every website that I read a review on, 17 endings my ass.

I was definitely one of those who figured people were just complaining about nothing. Then I beat the game last night. It was pretty late at night when I finished; I just left my house and went for a long walk and tried, unsuccessfully, to process what happened.

Me. I thought people were just complaining because they didn't get a happy ending or something.

I heard a few disgruntled moans about the ending and brushed them off thinking it can't be that bad,
I was wrong.

That was basically me. I heard fairly early on about the endings and the backlash that seemed to result, but I diligently avoided spoilers and wanted to finish the game for myself, and was certain that it was just a small pocket of vocal people who didn't like the ending because it didn't pander to their personal interests (i.e. there is no way to make everyone happy all of the time).
Then I finished the game, and felt like an idiot for ever feeling that way. I have never been so emotionally gutted or felt so atrociously betrayed by a franchise as I did after finishing Mass Effect 3. It actually still makes me physically ill every time I hear themes or dialogue or see images of the ending because of how emotionally shattered I was.
What an amazing game, what a terrible ending...
