Yeah, all the ppl who saw the ending's kept mentioning how bad they were, i was like it couldn't be that bad, but then the moment of truth stuck me in after i finished the game.
Who here thought the endings couldn't be that bad before you beat the game?

I'd heard the rumors from release-week leaks. Resolved to beat the game and judge for myself.

Based on Bioware previous gems, like Jade Empire, KOTOR 1, BG2:Throne of Bhaal, ME1 and 2, i expected Renegade/Paragon Endings or something in between.
What a shocker. I wish they simply went with Renegade/Paragon Endings.

Yep, I had read comments, but as I was playing, I was thinking "There is no WAY they can screw this up!"
Oops.

When the first posts came with "The ending is 10x worse than you can imagine...", "destroys everything..." I first thought those were just fanboys who didn't get their unicorn-rainbow ending.
Then I played it. Saw the ending.
Tried another ending. Saw that it was only a different color.
Then the rage came. And now I'm here.

In my case, I was pleasantly surprised.
I was expecting the worst after hearing so many complaints and actually the synthesis ending was pretty damn good. Just finished it today.
What do you mean the other endings are only a different color?
So if you choose to control or destroy the reapers instead of synthesis, you still see Jeff and EDI escape to a new planet, and Jeff has synthetic circuitry from becoming a hybrid?

I did. I was just thinking, "Of course some people won't like them! There are always haters, and the haters are loudest on the internet. Plus, I know it'll be at least a little sad, it's the end. But BW always gives us a happy option and a sad option!"
Um... Yeah... That was before I beat the game and reduced into a sobbing mess of depression for the next six days.

I think this is why there's such a sense of betrayal among the people who hate the ending.
We LIKE Bioware. We trust them. We didn't want to believe that the people who were complaining were right.
And then...

I was about ready to sell my soul to Bioware until the last 10 minutes. Most of the game I kept having this feeling that there was no way it was really as good as it seemed. Finally I wiped those thoughts away, there was no way it could fail so close to the end. Then it failed. Horribly.

I went into the game without knowing anything about it, other than that I loved ME1 and 2, and was expecting another great game.
When I got the ending, I immediately assumed I had done something wrong. Wrong choice somehwere, not enough EMS, or something like that. Then I Googled "Mass Effect 3 Ending" to figure out what.
It wasn't me.

I did. Minutes before the end I wanted to call friends to tell them ME3 is the best game ever! Then came the end and now I'm in disbelief.

I was blissfully ignorant starting with the german release on the 8th... was finished on the 11th and first thought I must have done something wrong during my playthru.
I restarted the mission 2 times to pick each color..... then... denial...google search... outrage. :X
If I would have KNOWN about these endings, I wouldnt have bought the game. Since it ruined the whole m1-m2 in one go for me too.

I went into the game without hearing anything about the ending(s?). I didn't even consider the possibility that it could turn out bad. It just didn't seem possible that they could screw it up with the first two being as solid as they were.

I had tried to avoid specific spoilers, but overall this. I had expected that the first complaints were knee-jerk reactions without basis. Boy, was I ever wrong.

To put it bluntly, I thought it was just people "not getting it" or being disappointed that we didn't get to see Shepard live and bathe in glory.
Then I got to the ending...
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, ladies & gentlement, I'm sorry.

Me too. Tried another play through of just the end, and it was the same.
The only thing I am a bit more shocked at is the number of people who haven't played the game complaining about our observations.
But there is some good out of this. The donations to the kids charity, and the Marauder Shields artwork are two.
