It's just a bit of a joke to be a Mass Effect fan now

Beyond that, however, the ME series is aborted.

This thread is a joke. ME3 is an awesome game, stop obsessing over one little aspect of it like a tool.
I find it ironic that the ones who are happy with the game as is are more insulting than those of us who are not.

How is it considered "raising your standards too high" when your "standards" are to get what is promised?
That just doesn't make sense...
The whole definition of making a promise is to give people an expectation.
And when you don't keep to your promise, it's wrong to blame the person you promised things to and write them off as having "standards that are too high."
Here's an idea, don't make promises you don't intend to keep.

Exactly. The only reason I am ashamed to be Mass Effect fan right now is this fanbase. Bunch of whiny children take give more importance to last 5 minutes than the rest of the series. Congratulations to the exceptions.byzantine horse wrote...
Yup. A friend asked me what I had done the past week and I responded "played the new Mass Effect" and he responded "Oh, the game with all those whiny fans?".

Sonogi's argument falls kinda flat when even I am unsatisfied and I wasn't following marketing either.

Well, he didn't use those exact words as he and I live in Sweden and don't use English in our day-to-day language. But if you saw the thread regarding the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reporting on the fans dismayed of the endings then you should realize that that is the main impression people with enough interest to know what the game is but not enough to buy it gets. So yes, that is what he said, roughly translated from Swedish.DLC On The Disc wrote...

Its only considered whining when you don't agree with the issue at hand.
Whats the point of having these forums if we can't even talk about the game in any negative fashion.
Being a fan is more than just blindely accepting what they give us.

Funny. You call us whiny and children, and yet we aren't the ones resorting to petty insults.
Instead let me paint a picture for you.
You just met this amazingly hot, beautiful, smart woman (10/10) and she agrees to go on a date with you. So you both go on a really nice dinner date and everything is GREAT, in fact beyond GREAT... it's like you just met your soulmate! And after a fantastic night of drinking, laughing and having fun you take her home. You kiss, you laugh, you promise to see her again! But as she is getting out of the car she bends over and sprays you and your car with a large dose of explosive diarrhea, chunks are everywhere... it's bad.
So what do you remember the most? The date or the explosive diarrhea?

Well should I edit the post to "ever complaining fans" then? Because what he did say was "whiniga", which is a Swedified form of the English "whiny". Yes, the Swedish language is slowly being eroded and replaced with English.Rockworm503 wrote...

Edit: Swenglish lesson 1: "Whine" is in Swedish used to described an act of complaining about everything. And yeah I quoted him so it's not directly my opinion. I personally wouldn't see any form of "whine" to be an insult, for what it's worth.

I still stand by my statement, one moment does not define entire series. Nothing is perfect, but both Mass Effect and Star Wars are epic sagas. I will not enjoy Empire Strikes Back any less because of that "noooo" moment. Hell,I won't even enjoy The Revenge Of Sith any less. The same goes for Mass Effect.Kanner wrote...

I don't like the endings either, but there is much more to this series than that. If you can't see it,then I'm afraid the failure is on your side.

Lots of people are making up their own story so they don't have to think about the bad ending anymore. You don't have to stare it in the face.
