I tried making a few equipment pack purchases so I could knock out some Silver runs, but upon returning to the game, I was rewarded with Veteran Packs instead. This was not my original intention, as I had been saving up my Credits for Spectre packs, and wanted to use those MS points to pick up the 5 random equipment and supply items. When viewing my download history on Microsoft's website, I can see that I did specifically put those purchases into Equipment Packs. I bought two more so I could confirm the issue was actually happening, show that I had bought and was credited by MS for Equipment Packs, and document these events with screenshots and videos. EA customer support sent me here, so was hoping that the folks at Bioware might have a better resolution for what's going on here. Thank you.
Veteran Pack is rewarded when purchasing the Equipment Pack when using MS points.

Adding the youtube clip to back up the claim.

I had that issue as well.
However, if I'm not mistaken, the contents in the pack are heavily leaning toward bonus missiles, med packs, etc. I bought a veteran pack and there wasn't nearly as many healing items, armor weapon and power bonus items. The equipment pack may be a veteran pack. It seems to weird that the name is the same.

I wish that were the case, but when I purchased my first Equipment Pack using credits, I was rewarded with 5 Missiles, 5 Medi-gels, 5 Ammo packs, An armor enhancement, and Warp ammo. No rare or uncommon items, just some more rockets, and medi-gel, that was all I needed.
I spent my points specifically so I could get this pack that's only going to be around for another few days, whereas I'm in no rush to go out and buy Veteran Packs, since I can do that at any time, and in most cases would prefer to save up credits, and go for the Spectre pack instead..

Oh, misunderstood what you meant.
Yeah my first pack had all that. Next 5 were just veteran packs....
I too would've liked to have stocked up on medigel and missles.
Bummer.

Yeah I had same issue.
Paying 80 MS points gets me the veteran pack.
Paying 20,000 credits gets the equipment pack.
This is a terrible glitch and illegal in the UK as 80 MS points is bought using real money and giving the veteran pack instead of what you were actually asking for violates the trade description act.
They really should have tested it

It is definitely a bug my friend.
Its not kosher in the US either.
There should be a refund option or at least the offer of a free, or three, equipment packs as this is a glitch on their end.
I too would've rather used my MS points to buy the Specter packs instead of the equipment packs.
Bummer.
I think the bug occurs because you actually download, the first time at least, a 100kb-ish file from Xbox Live the first time you buy a veteran, specter pack.
There wasn't a download of this type for the equipment pack. So Xbox Live registered the 80ms point transaction as a Veteran pack!
This is the only explanation i can come up with.

21 Hours left in the promotional event, and I don't really feel too comfortable spending more MS Points on anything in the store until some kind of solution is reached. Hoping myself and the other people that bought the pack with points can get an answer sometime soon, as I am still enjoying multiplayer, and would like to get back into it.

If you made a post about it earlier, might be worth throwing it up on here too, or bumping your old post. Promotional event ends in a few hours, and have yet to hear anything from anyone about anything regarding this issue...

Why are you wasting your money? It may only be 1 or 2 dollars depending on the pack but it's not that hard to just play

It's an option that's available and i used up my extra points but i really don't think it's anyones concern if i use my points or if i don't. The point is i used them to purchase one thing and recieved another

I had this happen to me as well, I didn't even notice the first one, but I knew I didn't get 5 of anything as I had when I bought the first one with credits. The next one I noticed said Veteran Pack, and I bought one more to confirm it. Don't particularly care but I didn't get what I paid for so I stopped.
The only other issue I have is that I now have 3 Achievements blacked out that shouldn't be, the two from From Ashes and one for 25 melee kills.

What Protognosis said. I personally don't have all the time in the world to play the game, but want to make sure I'm getting a good amount of content in with the time I do have to play. If 80MS Points will help me achieve that, I'd pay it up. However, I didn't get what I paid for, I'm not the only one here, and we have yet to hear a reason as to why, or what will be done about it. Because of this, I'm just not going to put anymore money in to Mass Effect 3, until I have at least some kind of acknowledgement. I prefer my money is going to where I originally intended for it to go to, that's all.

A new pack was implemented in the store Tuesday, yet no resolution has been given as to this issue. At this point, I seriously doubt Bioware will even fix this issue regardless, or provide any kind of answer, as they're obviously more concerned with adding in more in-game purchase options, than fixing what they already have in there. Someone at Bioware care to prove me wrong, or were those points that I spent on packs that I never received just a way to tell me I should take my business elsewhere?
