I keep seeing people with Black Widow X, is this even possible?

And they don't even have a huge N7 rating. I wonder if this is a credit hack, any other kind of hack or they've just added over 9000 Bioware points to their account and spammed Spectre packs...

In case you are not aware, the Black Widow isn't just a regular "yellow" rarity item, it's an ultra-rare N7 rarity item. Speaking in other words, you physically can't have a level 10 N7 rarity weapon at this point. Not by any fair means.

I can deal with one or two persons doing so, but THAT much? Nah, there aren't that many people with money trees in their garden.

Some people have a lot of money, i suppose, but there is hacking present. I mean, look at the PC ladder. Someone has over 4000 N7 rating? I call BS.

Editing the gamefiles is extremely easy from what I've heard. Obviously, it's cheating though.

It's not actually that large a cost, "really".

5000 Microsoft Points, £42.50; that's like...31 Spectre Packs...if my napkin math is accurate.

Disposable income would easily lead to a purchase of the platform relevant points en masse.

Maybe, it's statistically probably that someone, somewhere has X versions of all the good weapons.
Still, I've only got a BW I compared to a Widow IV. In fact all of my N7 class weapons are level III(Talon, never use) or less, or I haven't pulled one yet.

I wish once you unlocked a weapon then you could either buy the upgraded versions or just make the upgrades a lower rarity so you could actually use your cool new weapons. Hell, I would use my Incisor or Phaeston but I have the Mantis and Avenger to like level 5 and 6. Not to mention weapons like the Shuriken keep getting leveled up even though I hate them and never use them. In case you couldn't tell I really hate the random unlock system.

The odds of pulling Black Widow X out of 31 Spectre packs are obscenely low.

Sure there are.  A Spectre pack is only $2, and vet $1 in real money if translated.  A gold run takes 30m on average and gives just one specter and half of a vet pack worth of credits.  That's $5/hr converted (and implies chainrunning, good teams, and never failing; and even less than $5/hr if you factor in equipment/one-use item expenses per game).  Minimum wage in California, where I live, is $8/hr.

Honestly if I had an average salaried job (which if cut down to hourly is something like $20/hr),  it would be terribly easy to warrant throwing money at BW for this.  Well, okay, after being kicked in the teeth with the reset bug I don't know anymore, but beforehand, yeah.

Also, low N7 rating means nothing.  Maybe they just play the crap out of Salarian Infiltrator and nothing else, thus being rank 20 forever + whatever levels they got from cards.

Lastly, gold is pretty easy if you're playing vs. cerb/geth, have a few friends who don't suck, and aren't stingy on using equipment.

I calculated the odds of pulling specific weapons in the demo, and with the much smaller number of items it was still ~1%. I suspect pulling a specific N7 weapon in the actual MP is less than 0.5%

Yeah.  Many people have gone that many spectre packs without seeing an ulra-rare at all.

in my experiance i've found (for me) i have a 1/6 chance of getting the better unlock (N& in a spectre, gold in verteran and silver in recruit)

with 6 (i think) N& weapons that's a 1/36 chance of getting the weapon you want

as some above mentioned $42 will get you 31 spectre packs

so somewhere around $500 will get you the black widow level 10

Possible, but not likely.

Also, even if they bought spectre packs with real money, they'd be pulling a lot of class cards which would level them up to some degree. If someone did pull ten black widows out of 31 spectre packs they need to go buy a lottery card immediately.

Demo data is useless.  Loot tables and percentages are differ greatly from it in retail build.

Also, computer randomization does not follow real world randomization exactly.

Hell, before I got blown up by the reset bug, I had Black Widow III and Widow II from throwing $25 in MS points at it.

I play ME3 on Xbox and a Balck Widow level 1 is a rarity.....
I'm near level 120 ( and I probably reamain at 120 because I'm not currently inclined to promote my characters bringing them to level 1 just for the sake of leader boards) and the only N7 weapon I found is the Scorpion and I bought more Spectre packs than veteran ones.

I have Revenant, Carnifex and Claymore at level 2 but nothing more.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, it's not impossible, merely very unlikely. For every person like you, there a person who picked up $25's worth of character XP cards.

If I see a Saber-M99 X anytime soon... I'll just write down that person's Origin ID and report them. To hell with that.

Sometimes the packs seem very... non-random. In one day(in one sitting) I played enough Gold matches to unlock 5 Spectre packs and 4 of them in a row gave me the N7 pistol and all 5 of them gave me the gold exp boost for the Salarian Engineer. It was odd, but it may have had something to do with saving the credits and buying all 5 right in a row.
This was on 360, mind you.

I've seen a few people with max level version of every gun they use, including multiple N7 weapons. I'd honestly prefer to think they're hacking rather than that they spent that much money because I find it less disturbing.

I must have the ****test luck on Earth. I must have unlocked 50+ spectre packs so far and I've not yet even seen the Black Widow or Paladin (both of which I really, really would like). Really gives me the ****s.
