In all honestly, as much as i'd like a happy ending I really don't need it. It could leave me in gut-wrenched tears and I could still applaud it if it all made sense and was well done. In fact, that'd be the ballsier way to do it. I just wish we had a choice of unique endings is all. Happy or sad.

I want an ending that makes sense, isn't filled with a ridiculous amount of plot holes and oversights and gives me some choice.

In some cases, that means a happy ending. :)

What's wrong with people wanting a happy ending? I'll admit, I like happy endings. But I'd be happy to have worse endings as well.

What I really want is a proper ending for ME3. One that makes sense and doesn't have as much holes as Swiss cheese.

like i said on another forum, i see ME3 as one long ending. most major story branches were resolved prior to the earth mission, so I'm not too fussed with the actual ending.

I don't want a happy ending, necessarily.

I want a good, logical, well-executed ending. ME3's ending was none of these.

When people complain about the ending, that doesnt mean they want everything to work out.

The reapers could of won for all I care, and Shepards cycle could of been wiped out. You'd then get a cutscene of the normandy drifting through space with its only surviving crewmember, liara 900 years later, setting up time capsules for the next cycle.

That would of been an ending.

What they gave us was garbage. The game was great, sure the beginning was a little weak, some of the writing seemed childish but it was a solid game, but the ending just marrs the whole series.

In fact it's the opposite of that criteria , but it doesn't ruin the series for me i'm over it .

The ME3 ending was **** not because of the hopelessness, but because of the lack of: logic, choises, a  proper conclusion and a decent spacebattle scene.

I don't think anyone disagrees with you. There are people who do want a happy ending, but they also want an ending that actually works.

Nikitn wrote...

Do many of you disagree? Would you accept this deus-ex monstrosity of an ending just if your shepard and his mates lived happily ever after? If so, shame on you. Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't mind it if a happy outcome was possible, if difficult to attain, but the lack of this is in no way the real issue.

If they weren't going to do anything to change or expand the ending, I do feel that a happy ending would probably make it easier to disregard.

It makes no sense and is horrible storytelling, but if the good guys live at the end, who cares? Rather than being the trash that stops the story, it just becomes the trash right before the end of the story (which would be you surviving and going off to do whatever). (I think everyone who doesn't like the endings would still agree it will never be a worthwhile ending, even if it were a happy one.)

But this argument is not about a happy ending. It's about that monstrous elevator that ascends to the most mind-numbing sequence of any BioWare game ever released, and the totally inexplicable cutscenes used to wrap up the trilogy.

We're all on the same page, don't worry.

I want an ending that makes sense and provides closure. I don't mind if the ending is bittersweet, sad, happy, tragic ect. As long as it makes sense, has conclusion and is satisfying.

We don't want a happy ending....We just want AN ending. That thing you saw was a place holder. ME3 has no ending.

I have yet to see ONE person complain it's not a happy ending. EVERYONE who dislikes the ending, most likely, dislike it because it makes ZERO sense and sets fire to the lore established in 6 years across three excellent games. If it's sad, great! But it needs to make some sense and respect the lore. Current endings are not only lazy, they are absurd.

I want a option to Earn my Happy ending but at this point a proper conclusion would work just fine.

Heck, even DA Origins had these plus death ending but they all made sense though and I could choose to sacrifice myself and for it to mean something.

Most of us don't want a "happy ending". Most of us want an ending that actually makes sense and doesn't make the Reapers creation to be something as stupid as "I don't want organics to be killed by synthetics so I made synthetics that kill organics so organics won't be killed by synthetics".

Personally, I prefer darker endings. This wasn't dark, it was just stupid.

Yo dawg, we herd u like synthetics and organics...

Make a potential option of a good ending. People who played as paragon, who united and inspired whole galaxy sure deserve that. Some endings may not be all that happy, but giving some closure and sense would be very much appreciated. Not leaving bunch of plotholes on the way

All the talk against the ending I think those who wanted simple happy endings are few and far between.  Honestly an ending that doesn't negate the entire series or just makes sense is all I ask for.

It's not about happiness at the end, it's about logic, choices, and common sense of the ending. Maybe that will lead to happiness and maybe it wont

I don't care if an ending is happy or sad, it just needs to be resonant and not feel tacked on. In Mass Effect's case it has to reflect the choices I've made. It also would help if they would stop billing ME3 as having multiple endings because it really doesn't, just subtle variances on the same cinematic over and over.

There should have been a choice to have either happy or sad, like Dragon Age: Origins.

This game series used to be about choice.

What the hell happened?
