So, I notice a lot of people saying "yes, the ending was confusing and offered no real choice, but honestly we could've settled for it if only we'd gotten some decent epilogue slides telling us how the story ended." That's how I feel myself.

I also know that some fans find this solution inadequate, but let's be realistic: we're never going to get the whole game rewritten so that Shep gets an all-new fully voiced, interactive, and cinematic ending. Epilogue slides, on the other hand, are really do-able. It's just text and static images. We could do it ourselves.

Just as an example, I wrote up the text of a set of preliminary epilogue slides for the "red" ending. I'm not a graphics person, so I didn't try to do the images. I figure what we'd really need are "base" epilogue slides for the RGB choices (maybe plus an extra variant to the Red choice for the "Shepard lives" ending) and then personal slides for each of the ME3 crew members, that change based on whether the crew member lived, died, were romanced, or what.

So this is totally a first-draft, preliminary stab at making a set of epilogue slides. What I'm looking for, besides general feedback on the writing, and whether people are excited about the project generally, is specifically folks pointing out plot-holes, conflicts in the lore, ways that my sci-fi technobabble could be tightened up, or possible end states that I haven't accounted for.

This is a prototype/conceptual kinda thingy. I can't stress that enough.

So far I've only done a set of base slides for the "red" ending. I would edit these, and write up the remaining slides, if there was interest in the community.

ADMIRAL HACKETT TO ALL FLEETS

All right, let's try this thing out.

All fleets, this is Admiral Hackett of the Alliance Navy. Admiral Raan has assured me that the quarians have rigged a temporary communications buoy capable of boosting this signal within the Sol system. All fleets, if you're hearing this, please report in.

If you require assistance, signal for help. We have ships capable of flight, repeat, we have ships capable of flight.

We're still piecing together what happened. The Reapers are dead in the water. We all saw the explosions. They're not moving, they're not firing. We've won. We don't know how, but Shepard did it.

The energy emission from the Citadel, echoed and magnified by the mass effect relays -- well, it blew our fleet all to hell, I don't have to tell you that. It disabled most of our engines and communications gear. But we're here. We're limping in. Alliance fleet is in contact with the turians, the quarians, the krogan. Anyone hears from the geth, report in immediately. Re-establishing communications is priority one.

We're just getting people aboard the Citadel now, and while the station is powered down...and...I regret to report...we're not finding survivors...

*static*

...Excuse me. What I meant to say was, we have hopes of salvaging crucial resources, including quarian and turian food stores sufficient for the forseeable future, from the Citadel.

We don't have extra-system communications yet, but we're working on it. The mass effect relays were disabled, not destroyed. That's why we're alive now.

We're going to make it, people. We're going to pull through. We'll survive, we'll overcome, and we'll rebuild.

Hackett out.

**Post-Invasion, Day 41
Text of a speech delivered by Provisional Councilor Kahlee Sanders.**

On behalf of the Provisional Citadel Council, and all member races, I have the honor of addressing you today. We come together in both grief and triumph, to honor the life and sacrifice of Commander [charname] Shepard, [hero of Elysium/ survivor of Akuze/ victor of Torfan], first human Spectre, and savior of us all.

The Provisional Council has unanimously voted to award Commander Shepard the posthumous title of Last Defender for [his/her] service in the Reaper Wars. This is a title that has never before been granted -- and, we devoutly pray, never will be again.

It is a title that recognizes both our grief and our victory. We grieve for all that we have lost. Not a single one of us today stands here unscathed or unscarred. Yet. We. *Stand.*

We stand here, on Earth. And above us, there are those standing on the Citadel who hear our words. We have reclaimed the seat of our civilizations, and the symbol of our unity. We have every faith that, using Citadel technology, we will soon be able to re-establish mass relay communications and transit.

None of this would be possible if Commander [charname] Shepard, our Last Defender, had not fought to the last breath against an enemy vastly more deadly than any we have ever known. Thanks to Shepard, we are here. We are together. We have a future.

We grieve, but we also rejoice. This is [his/her] victory. This is our victory. Thank you.
