Dear Bioware, we love you guys. We really do. Mass Effect is more than a game to us, it's an adventure. To some of us, this is the Star Wars of our time. Nearly the entire series was flawless, particularly the third game. However, many of us also feel that the conclusion to Mass Effect 3 soured not just the third game, but the entire franchise.

At the time of writing this, the donation drive to Child's Play is on the verge of $60,000. These are 100% donations to a charity, merely hoping to raise attention for our cause while helping a far more important one. Bioware, your fans are throwing money to people for a petition that cannot guaruntee an outcome in their favor, at all. We're  just handing tens of thousands away.  I personally donated $100 to the charity, which is $20 more than I spent on the collector's edition, which was the entire reason for my donation.

This is how passionate we are for these games you've made, but a lot of resentment is building now. There's a lot of negativity; in the forms of anger, despression, and even spitefulness. The people protesting aren't random folks who happened by this on a shelf one day. They're your devoted fans. Every single person voicing complains on this forum has at some point convinved their friend to buy one of your games.

We've done some serious damage, but we've helped you in the past. You want your fans back, and we want to be your fans again. Well, really, we never stopped being fans; we're just holding the line right now.
It really isn't personal. :?

You've got thousands of gamers before you. We're clever, organized, internet savvy, and active in the gaming community. We'll go to war for you (figuratively) at the drop of a hat, but we need that show of good will. We're eager to forgive and move on.

This is what I propose.

Each person signing this thread vows the following (where applicable), upon release of 'ending DLC' or an 'ending patch'. Free or not.

I will no longer boycott Bioware products because I am dissatisfied with Mass Effect 3's ending sequence.

I will do everything within my power to raise awareness of Mass Effect 3, and it's exceptional quality.

I will contact the news papers, bloggers, and reviewers that I follow and request that they cover Bioware's excellent support of it's fan base.

I will attempt to change any and all reviews I've made of the game on websites like Amazon and Metacritic, to represent it's new level of quality.

Here's what some of your fans are saying:

If they do that dlc right I'll no longer feel nervous about future games or premium content. It would be
awesome to say I know a game developer that made dlc at the request of its fans to make its game perfect.

Coming from someone who has Facebooked everyone he knows not to buy Mass Effect 3, told everyone he knows not to buy Mass Effect 3, donated at Chip-in, participating in the boycott, and sent in a letter of protest today...

I don't believe anyone of us are wanting to ruin BioWare, or see them go out of buisness. We're all here because we love BioWare games and simply want the company to know how dissatisfied we all are with the ME3 ending. I believe the writers made a mistake. I've posted on here that I'd like to see them make up for it and give
the series the ending it deserves.

The absolute best possible thing that can be done is for BioWare and the fans to actively work together to fix this mess. Period.

I'll happily endorse this message. Should Bioware fix the ending, paid or free, my boycott would be officially lifted.

Right now my discomfort with the ending is the only thing keeping me from buying "From Ashes". They are losing money right now, but I don't want that to be the case. Even the annoucement of a dlc ending will allow me to purchase it.

Thank you Bioware for creating this wonderful experience, and thank you even more for fixing it.

I don't do these "movement" things. I think I'll never see hold the line the same way again.

But I find this well done, and I'll sign this and only this.

If the ending DLC is satisfactory (notice I didn't even say good) then I will of course purchase it on day one.

Signed.

I might even gain a little more respect than I previously had if they show they're willing to actually admit mistakes and work to fix them just to appease their fanbase. It's easy enough to say "we listen to the fans" and just take what you like, it's not as easy to prove it.

And if they do it, it's proof that they used their brains, read "the Tipping Point" and figured out how to make their most vocal critics happy.

Works fer me.

Well that sounds a bit too desperate for my taste. I am done with Bioware anyway after ME3, no matter what they do or don't do. I am willing to hold the line with fellow fans to put ME where it belongs, and then I am out. No more Bioware games unless they are like 10 or 15 bucks 2 or 3 years after release and really have good fan reviews. However, good luck with that and respect for the charity idea.
