only if something like this happend.....
the catalyst gives shepard his/her three choices then a fourth option to walk away... at which point a damaged reaper collids with the citidel... shepard looses his/her balance and falls into the green option :@
So if they did release a new ending, wouldn't you be outraged?

If they do I'll buy all DLC for the game as I did with ME2, and I'll be thankful they corrected their error in judgement.Sir Arthur Conan Doyle brought Sherlock Holmes back in his stories after causing outrage amongst his fans by killing Holmes off, ending the series on a poor and unhappy note.

Well, if it was paid DLC, yes I would be outraged.

It depends.
If it's done very well, absolutely not. What "very well" means is that they absolutely capitalize on the built in artistic merits of the ending that was shipped with the game. In other words, they fill in the blanks. In other words, THE INDOCTRINATION THEORY + an explanation of the Reapers, and (maybe, not sure of this part) the ability to play as Shepard post-ending.
But the other part of it is, even if it is done very well... did we get a complete game in the first place? Is it fair to release a game and include the "truth" post release? I think the answer to that question is "No" and BioWare, at least to some degree, is currently weighing our response against that fact.

No I would be happy. It would show that they do indeed listen to their fans, and that they are not afraid to admit that they can make mistakes.

It was meant to be this way, not new ending but THE ending.

Especially if they made ending with various flavours from the golden ending (galaxy won, shep n LI has their happy ending), medium (galaxy one this time, but not all reapers destroyed) and the horribly wrong ending (everybody got 'processed' and we got to see Liara's recording).
I don't mind for the paid ending DLC so long is it's well made..

No. And in fact I would not even mind if I had to pay for it. If they really thought they had a good ending but will change it for the fans then I have no problem paying them to do that. It would be really cool if later on they released the collector’s edition again with the new ending on it instead of it only being a DLC.

Releasing an alternate ending would mean that they listened to their fans and admitted that they failed to deliver a satisfying end to the series.
If it's free, I'll love them forever (or at least for a long time).
If it comes at a cost, I'll forgive them this once.

If it's free, and not poorly written like the one we already have, I'll be happy. If it costs anything or is just a new ending that makes no sense and is just as bad as the original I'll stick to my word of never buying anything with the EA or Bioware names on the case.

No because if it is satisfying then it shows that A. they do care about their fans still, and B. are willing to admit that their plan wasn't the best one out there.

If it's free and addresses the community-wide issues (not specifically my personal ones), then I'll be happy and have my faith restored in Bioware; I mean, I - like many others - have put over $200 into the series, only to have an ending that we'd been working to for so long fall flat on its face.
If it's paid or isn't released at all, I'm totally fine with moving on to other developers and publishers.
I'm just waiting for word from Bioware on whether or not I need to burn the bridge.

Generally, no.
But there is obviously potential for them to mess up a "new ending" pretty easily. For example, if they give us a weak effort, rushed ending to placate the fans I think that would be bad. What I mean specifically is NOT having the voice talent back. If the game wraps up instead with weak sauce "private terminal" messages from my best friend Garrus or my LI Miranda, then that would sour the experience for me even more. This needs to be of the highest quality, like Shadow Broker or better. If this takes 4 months to do, fine. Just give it to us straight and start to fix this relationship with the fans.
And in my opinion, I don't see this as "sacrificing artistic" vision at all. If the whole premise of ME was to create a world where our choices matter and the point was to carry one Shepard through all three games, then it is an artistic vision but a co-created one of the player and the writers. This was supposed to be an adventure in interactive storytelling, not the one way vision of a book or TV show. This is what made Mass Effect different and special.
And as for cost, I will be honest, I would pay if it was good. The value of a proper send-off for the franchise is worth money to me. I respect that others will feel differently, but that's what I think. I won't forget the fact that the majority of ME3 was excellent and I was happy to pay for that experience. But the ending was abyssmal and I truly, truly do not understand how the team that produced that much excellent content just fell so flat at the end.
