Android, I'm sorry for trying to challenge you in this thread. Our back-and-forth is going nowhere and there's no way your post above could change the way I think about the matter, at least not with the manner you have to turn my questions around. You have your right to hold your position and I have mine. I hope you're using that perseverance of yours to uncover the truths you seek.

It could have all stayed on topic if people didn't impose the conventions of backdated science into the discussion!

If you have a science background, then you know that it is impossible to prove or disprove a negative. It can not be done. As the evidence exists, my statement is correct. Until we have evidence to prove the opposite, the believers are merely thinking very wishfully.

I also know you shouldn't take anything for a fact just because you can't prove it's wrong. That was my point. I think we're sort of on the same page but just arguing semantics now.

Anyway, getting back to the movie... I would very much like to discuss the ending in more detail. However, this thread does not have a big fat SPOILERS warning so I won't do it here.

Do you mean the creature or characters?

Character. On the one hand it's clear but there are a few obvious open questions as well. If they're making a sequel, they have a few things to clear up at least.

Yes, It's quite obvious it's a lot about the evolution of the Alien.

For instance the Giant Squid was inspired by Giger's original vision for the Alien Facehugger.

And loved it.
