There might be some spoiler-ish things here...
Man, i cant decide if i should hold out hope or not - i like many of you (especially here, reading this) am a massive fan of the series. I was so invested, got the trilogy art book, comics, books, wound up getting the ps3 version of 2 just to check the difference to xbox, and also 2 pre-orders of me3 to get all the dlc pre-order exclusives (in new zealand that was the only way!) and now im totally shattered. I will be honest that with the end i got, initially i wasnt upset - it was very weird, and i thought possibly glitched beacuse a squadmate was in a scene after the choice - who was with me on the run toward the portal - surely they would be dead?
Anyways, i had heard the fuss but didnt want to read anything until i finished it myself, and thats when i realised - it doesnt matter - whatever you choose, its all the same. I couldnt believe it, so i fired up that save and did the last 20 mins and chose a different option - and i was dumbstruck. I dont think this series deserves my attention anymore. Ive probably only got myself to blame - for thinking it could live up to the expectations, but this was so far from it its just not funny. After ME2 i remember launching straight back in - probably played that game over 8 times by now. ME3? Only once and ive already gone on to a new game. Im not sure if ill support the series anymore.
I was also really surprised by the amount of people i know who were interested in checking this game out, who caught wind of the endings saga and now dont even want to bother with this series or continue on with it - most gamers i know who arnt yet major ME fans are really put off by what they are hearing. This stuff is super damaging to Bioware, it may sell well out the gate, but im worried for the longevity.
I really doubt they will address the endings - post campaign dlc is impossible obviously beacuase of the choice, so anything Shepard related has to be set before the choice - Mr Hudsons statement basically confirms there will be no changes.
Im really upset the trilogy had to go out like this
