i have no idea where he got the "only passionate fans will be upset" part. We got an office of 300 peeps here. all those that picked up ME3 have pretty much put it down. Sure, they're not freakin' out saying "CHANGE TEH ENDING" but they've all agreed that the ending blew, and that most likely they're nto gonna get any DLC and move onto other games. heck, the day 1 DLC has already made some of em just move onto another game.
For me its the same, i'm just on the forums cuz i like forum drama
but in all honesty, if they dont change the ending, i wouldnt care. i got other games to occupy myself. If they did, then yeah, it'll keep my attention for a bit. at this point i'm ready to move onto another game
I know, it seems a little baffling, doesn't it? All I can imagine is that they've run the numbers and decided it's just not that big a problem.

That is preposteriously unlikely now. Who is going to write that new KOTOR? Mac Walters and Mike Laidlaw?

Why don't you move on instead.
I think I made it pretty clear in my post that that's exactly what I'm doing.
wat he`s trying to say is if you want to move on thats great just dont come in here trying to preach other people to do it
I'm not "preaching". I'm offering my thoughts. Isn't that what a forum is all about? In any case, I prefaced my post by saying it was a somewhat selfish act of cartharsis. No one is forcing you to read it. But thank you to those who have offered some interesting thoughts in return.

I have no interest in Star Wars, so it's not really an issue for me.

Please excuse the selfish thread, but it's a final act of cartharsis before I move on from this whole mess.
The statement from Casey Hudson yesterday is exactly the kind of condascending whitewash I was expecting. Here is what I took away from it (your mileage may vary):
- We're happy with what we did, and take no responsibility for the fact that we might have dropped the ball.
- Publications and gaming sites gave ME3 great reviews, so STFU.
- We'll keep supporting the game throughout the year by making you pay for DLC which continues Commander Shepard's adventures (and based on previous comments, the intention is for this DLC to take place before the endgame).
Face it people - it's over. Let's not be naive. The endings are what they are - they're not gonna change, not in any substantial way. It simply doesn't make any business sense, and at the end of the day, money talks and bull***t walks. I know there are those of you who feel that the long-term repercussions of not addressing the ending debacle outweigh any short-term losses, but EA/BioWare have obviously tossed this around and decided - "no". As Hudson says in his statement, as far as they're concerned, disappointment with the endings is confined to "some of our most passionate fans."
I don't say any of this to be negative for the sake of it. It's just that, reading through the forums, I still see so many people "holding the line" and clinging to some slither of hope that the endings will be revised. And I know (at least, I'm thoroughly convinced) that it's just not going to happen. Believe me, I was genuinely hoping that BioWare would step up and do something out-of-the-ordinary to address this, but Hudson's statement is the final nail in the coffin for me. Take heart in the fact that we've currently raised in excess of $60K for charity (which, unsurprisingly, Hudson doesn't even acknowledge in his statement), and move on.
For my own part, I have uninstalled ME1/2/3 from my PC, and have absolutely no intention of purchasing any future DLC, even if it addresses the endings (which it won't). I also have absolutely no intention of buying another product from BioWare ever again. My N7 Collector's Edition has been shoved to the back of a drawer, where it will stay.
I'm not a complete pessimist. I've made a backup of my saved games. But in every other respect, I'm done with BioWare and with this game. It's just such a massive shame that it had to end like this.
I'm sorry you are frustrated. We all are. However, if you give up, if you move on, you will be doing exactly what Mr. Hudson's post is calculated to make you do.
They want this to blow over. They want us to become discouraged and tired and most of all they want us to give up. Then they can go back to touting their awesome reviews (which are actually warranted for the first 97% of the game) and pull new buyers in without this irritating "fan movement" ruining the party.
However, if we DON'T go away, if we refuse to be silenced, eventually they will have to take action. And if that action includes making an ending that befits this great franchise, won't the effort be worth it?
Read this before you go:
http://social.biowar.../index/10084349
It details the strategy used by corporations to deflect consumer criticism. It may give you the strength to continue this fight.
I hope you don't give up, but if you do, go in peace, brother.
I believe this can still turn out well if we just hang on. Hold the line.
