Okay I gotta ask, when you decided to post this thread, OP, you had to have known you were going to get pages upon pages of "HOLD THE LINE" yeah?

Honestly, I didn't really know what to expect, I was just venting - but there have been some very reasonable and thoughtful responses.

That message was released for this very reason. WE ARE NOW A THREAT. You can't ignore enemies which are giving you damage. If we continue this preasure their bottom line (financial) will take such a hit that they will be forced to listen. Everything thus far has been delaying tactics to try and wait out the fan base. Keep up the preasure and they will fold. If we were not causing ANY damage at all then this press release would not have been delivered at all.

I suppose that is a possibilty, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I would hazard a guess that the bulk of the revenue to be made from Mass Effect 3 has already been made. It seems to me that if continued fan criticism, and its effect on things like Amazon user reviews, were a genuine financial threat (in terms of future sales, DLC etc), then a far more definitive statement would have been made to quell the s**tstorm. Instead, Hudson's statement consists of typical PR whitewashing and says basically nothing substantive, thereby allowing the "damage" to continue.

Corporations can't move that quickly. I'm sure it took them almost a week to realize there was a problem at all. It's only been 11 days since launch in the US and 2 days since launch in Asia. I know that it seems like forever, but they can't just come out right now and promise to fix it. They have to figure out how much a fix will cost and where they'll get the money to develop it. Then they have to start figuring out logistics of voice actor contracts, etc.

Be patient. Be strong. Don't give up. Don't give in.

This kinda goes back to my original post, however. Where is the incentive to invest money in developing a new ending? At the end of the day, EA/BioWare's primary concern are their shareholders, and my interpretation of the statements that have been made thus far is that the numbers simply don't add up (particularly if it were to be released as a free update - charging for it would be a PR disaster IMHO). I genuinely think this will damage them long-term, but they either don't agree or aren't thinking that far ahead.

Perhaps this is too altruistic for a corporation to ever conceive of it, but if they released a free ending DLC *and* matched the Child's Play donation-  http://retakemasseff...ct-childs-play  at that point, they would turn all this lead into pure gold. Every. Bit. Unlikely, I know, corporations are notoriously short-sighted.

It would certainly be a PR coup, but I guess they figure the return on investment isn't worth it. Like I said originally, a part of me was hopeful that EA/BioWare would step up and do something out-of-the-ordinary, but at this stage I can't see it happening. It's just business as usual (quite literally).

I understand. For my part, I've gotten to the point where I honestly don't care about new endings - this whole debacle has left such a sour taste in my mouth that I just want nothing more to do with the game or BioWare. But for those of you who want a new ending for ME3, keep hanging on by all means - I just think you're ultimately going to be disappointed, and that makes me sad.

Will do. Take a rest mate. I will keep up the fight for the sake of your lost hope. Even if we may be disappointed, even if the ending is bleak, even if there is little hope, we must press on and hold the line. Just like Shepard showed us. =]

After all, we have nothing to lose from trying right?

Well, the only things you have to lose are time, effort and emotional/financial investment - none of which I feel EA/BioWare deserve at this point.

But genuinely, best of luck to you.

Those are the pragmatic realities, especially based on Casey's latest statements. What is generally difficult for movements like 'change ME3's ending', is that corporations can drag these things out for months, while fans lose momentum in weeks. One slight thing in our favor is that now that AAA game title releases are more like movie releases than ever before, the company's timeframe for profit has tightened. In other words, they *can't* go on ignoring as long as they have in the past. Through the internet we can spread the truth out there far faster & longer than before.

This is also likely why EA/Bioware is hitting the mainstream gaming sites hard. Most people will probably read an article or two there, think their own issues with the ending may be too 'selfish & entitled' & stop there. That's why we should all continue sharing as much as time & ability allow.

They need to be farsighted enough to go for the "short term pain, long term gain." Otherwise it's going to be a drawn out painful end for Bioware. I think it's premature to think they've run all the numbers and decided "ain't worth it." I do wonder at their thinking though. This is their opportunity to make an already invested fanbase worship the ground they tread on if they fix it. Everyone wins if they just have the humility to rectify the situation.

I like how people think that "uninstalling" something is some act of great defiance against it's maker. They already got your money, and making yourself feel better by deleting great games is just stupid.

You want to give up? Fine goodbye...However Bioware isn't the only complany that pissed off the fans.
MAFIA 2 by 2K: game sold at 60 bucks the was worth 20 bucks most of the game was cut and graphic issues. 2K pissed off alot of there fans and many declared they vowed getting any more 2K's games for the shabby result of MAFIFA 2.
Fallout New Las Vegas by Bethesda. Too many glitches too many bugs to even finish the game. Enemies stuck in the ground and when you kill them they fall thrugh the ground. Bethesda failed to fix there game. Skyrim is facing the same problems in glitches and bugs. People can't finish questes because it isn't available to finish.
It is all the same at every video game company...Its tallk but little action. What Casey is doing is just talking. In other words making a bluff.

Sheppard: We fight or We die
We fight or Bioware suffers the same things that 2K and Bethesda are feeling.

It's not an act of defiance, and if it makes me feel better, what's wrong with that?

Mordin was someone they definitely got right, even with the VA controversy. They can create amazing content. They can do this. We just need to keep the pressure on.

I see what you're saying, but I still have hope. Why? Because most of the people who've bought the game have basically given Bioware/EA an ultimatum. Fix the ending or we don't buy anything else from you. Including DLC and future games. The ball's in their court now.

There aren't too many companies that make great (except for the end) rpgs like the mass effect series. It's better that we try to convince them to fix the issue before abandoning them. Hold the line!

All in time I have seen this start from a hand full of people to know growing over 36000 strong and more are coming everyday that number gets bigger and bigger. I don't hate bioware hell I love Me3 and all the others as well. But what I saw at the end was not what I have come to expect from bioware thats why I ask to change the ending or give us something that ties up the loose ends. Bioware will have to face up here soon we need to stand united against all the trolls and haters out there they will soon pass but we must stay and fight.

I agree. Eventually people will stop complaining about our movement once we persist a month after launch.
