The game WAS AMAZING(!!!).  Until that last bit.  Did it "ruin" it for me?  I guess the answer to that is yes - otherwise, I'd be obsessively replaying it.  I've barely started a second playthrough and I'm not that motivated to continue.

If you had suggested to me that would be my reaction 2 weeks ago, I would have thought that was INCONCEIVABLE.

Yes. Broke the whole damn trilogy in my eyes.

I mean ... why am I scared for the reapers when they're essentially the foot soldiers of some crummy SpaceBaby?

It really does disrespect and contradict all of the wonderful mythos set up over the first two games.

I will never be able to play the ME trilogy again, and that's a shame.

Yes. It ruined the whole series for me, personally.

Pretty much this.

Unless Indoc theory is true, I will no longer respect the Reapers as a galactic force of terror and destruction, knowing they are just StarChild's cleaning crew

I'll always think, "hey look, it's another one of those things that punk AI who thinks it has all the answers tosses at us to kill us to save the rest of us. YAWN"

I want my feared Lovecraftian death machines back!

Yup, whole series in fact. Was planning a full trilogy playthrough. Now seems pointless.

Ruined the entire trilogy. The entire thing has no point now.

Ruined? Dunno. Definitely made me not want to do a full second playthrough...gave up around the mid part of the game.

And I had plans to do a marathon replay of all three....yeah...that's canned. So...yeah. I guess it did.

Yes it did. I prepared myself well over a year ago and tried to prepare many others to what ended up occurring. Even than I can't even get myself to boot the game up.

Pretty much, yeah.  I replayed the first two an absurd number of times.  I haven't touched ME3 since I finished it the first time.  If the endings weren't so terrible, I'd be at least on my third playhtrough by now.... or maybe even doing a full trilogy run.

Honestly, I can say that the ending hasn't ruined the game for me. Now don't get me wrong I'm in no way supporting the ending we were given but up until the final mission that was the best game I've ever played (my personal opinion of course). That's why the ending was so incredibly disappointing for me. I will definitely play that game again but until I have a new ending to experience I will certainly never beat the game again.

My favorite scenes were Mordin's death, and the union between the Geth and the Quarian's. Both were made irrelevant by the ending. Not to mention my Shepard would've shot StarChild if I had the chance, why listen to the boss of the enemy? It destroyed the immersion the game built up to that point by providing options I never would've considered as options.

It ruined it for me.  Knowing that my journey, with all the hundreds or thousands of variable decisions, representing a totally unique journey, will inevitably be forced through three cookie-cutter and virtually identical endings, that also lack any sense or cohesion, and turn Shepard into a passive sheep... ugh.  I can't do it.

ruined the trillogy, nothing more need be said
i probably will play ME again at some point, but only if the ending thing is fixed or enough time has past for me to be able to convince myself the last 3 hours of ME 3 dont really happen.

It did not ruin it for me. It was disappointing, yes. But did it ruin the past two games and everything beforehand in the third? No.

Honestly, I love the series, but it's just a game. I enjoyed all but 7 minutes of it, with that last 7 with me just going through the motions since I knew what was coming due to the script. And I don't want anything but those 7 minutes taken back. Quite frankly, I've wasted more of my life than just those 7 minutes on worse things.

So no, it wasn't ruined. But I do expect answers.

I definitely agree with that, I would have "boomsticked" that kid in the face so hard, if that was an option.

To me, playing Mass Effect 3 was like spending one's golden years with a beloved spouse.  Sure, there were a couple snags, but overall it was a wonderful adventure, filled with memorable moments and fun.  At the end, as I knelt by my loved one in her final minutes, I reflected with nostalgia on the many years we had enjoyed each others' company, and how deeply I would miss her.
Then she turned into a platypus and flew out of the window.

To put it in a sense that everyone will understand.

This whole Mass Effect ending is like this. Millions of people went to watch "Transformers" the movie. The "minority" thought it was terrible. I wonder why?

Michael Bay decided to destroy our childhood (or what's left of it) with Transformers and soon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Now, the whole Mass Effect trilogy is PERFECT, until those last 15 minutes that were probably written by Michael Bay.

Yes.  Yes, it did, and then some.  Ruined the game, ruined the series.   I was looking foreward to checking out the books and such, but now there is really no point .  Usually I would say it's all about the journey and not the destination, but with an ending like that, the journey is pointless.

To put it bluntly, not only did the ending ruin this game for me, it also ruins ME1 and ME2 which I loved. Oh and the novels which I liked. So yeah, it's pretty bad.

I finished this game today and yes, even though the trilogy is one of the best games ever made, and Mass Effect 3 is the best game Bioware has made. The ending ruined the whole series for me, it made everything I did seem pointless as the ending was just a confusing rushed mess with no real closure.... The last few moments with Anderson and Shepard before the game was ruined I was thinking to myself how amazing this game was and I can't wait to replay it many times.

And then the ending came and spat in my face, and it was not the fact that Shepard dies, it was the fact that it made no sense to the plot and to the Shepard I made, and none of the choices I make in the game or the previous games matter at all.

I really can't understand how on earth they thought this would be an acceptable way to end this series. I mean did the writers get fired or something, because I can't believe the same writers who made all the great stories before the end could come up with such a hollow and useless ending.

Ruined the trilogy. Can't be bothered with playing any part of it again or revisit it in some form unless the ending to the story changes.
