Tried getting over it and playing.

Can do 1 mission before realising "This is pointless" and shutting it down.

Can't bear to play the game, can't bear to play the previous two games, can't bear to play any video games at all...

Get angry every time I see the box lying around and have to resist throwing things.

I was planning to play ME1-3 after my first ME3 play through, but now I really don't see the point.
So yes, totally ruin.

Completely. I don't even want to play ME1 at this point, why should I care about spending time in a Universe where none of my decisions matter? Even to me?

I mean screw external ramifications, my Shepard would not have taken those three options so passively. Even if the kid said "**** you, that's all you get" he still would have argued. But nope, guess it didn't occur to Bioware that customizing the crap out a character for 2.9 games generally leads to the expectation that your character will behave as customized.

As a game it's ruined, I doubt I'll play it through again. As a lore-driven universe? I still want to see more, which is probably what irks me more then anything else.

It did more. It ruined gaming for me.

I no longer feel joy or desire to play ANY video game. I just sit in my room, bored out of my mind. It sucked the life out of me, and turned me into some sort of Emo dude. My whole passion for gaming was gone the moment i saw the endings.

That was 8 days ago. I still can't touch anything related to video games.

Yep honestly; I hadn't played ME 1 or ME 2 in awhile - half way through ME 3 I'm like; ok couple things bug me but my god this is awesomeness.......I'm going to start a brand new ME 1 right after this........and then the ending.....
Shepard said it best.......I saw - I don't know what I saw; death destruction.......

Literally killed one of the best Sci-fi series in the last 10 years - everytime I fire it up......I remember space magic and just kills any repay value. My only hope is indoctrine theory; it adds up...it works - easy way for them to write them out of this really bad ending.

Otherwise; I remember I'm biggest mass murder/Genocide committer in all the Galaxies's history....blowing up mass effects = super novas :D

No it did not, the Mass Effect series is still and will always be my favorite and the greatest one ever told.

Regardless of it's ending (which I believe doesn't exist since it's "Open for interpretation" which is pretty much saying make up your own ending) I believe in my own theory and to that end, I got the ending that I longed for.

I would gladly trade places with you right now... i want to be able to just make up my own ending and have that be enough... you are lucky because you can... i feel sad again :(

Listen, I'm not going to let five minutes ruin five years of happiness. Yes I donoated to "Hold the Line" and Child's Play, yes I do think the ending was pretty poorly constructed, but as a whole the series was amazing, including Mass Effect 3.

If Bioware decided to pull a David Lynch "The Lost Highway" so be it. If they decide to change the ending (Which I believe they won't) so be it. I'm happy and okay using my imagination to come up with an ending.

Made Harbinger not make sense.

Actually, the ending implied why Harbinger was so interested in Shepard in the first place.

As a gamer who values a good story over everything else, the ending not only ruined ME3 for me, it ruined the entire series.

I can't see myself being able to get immersed in the story in any future playthroughs knowing that the Reapers are pretty much just a galactic cleaning crew, and that everything I do ultimately doesn't matter.

The game Itself is great yes.  Right up to the ending....

ANd yes the endign DID ruin it for me.  I mean I Literally lost the desire to even want to replay the game EVER.  Or any of them again because of the way it ended.   I mean anyone who put that much time into all three games agonizing over every choice they made over its impact on what may or may not happen WOULD be hurt by this ending.

There was already enough logic why Harbinger would be interested in Shepard.

He wanted to indoctrinate Shepard, that's pretty clearly stated in ME2, whether we talk about the indoctrination theory in ME3 or not.

Shepard is effectively the leader of Earth, and in ME3 is now the leader of the Alliance. Indoctrinating Shepard would basically be an "I WIN" button for the Reapers. Harbinger would suddenly know EVERYTHING about humans, as well as much more about all the other species, in many different ways.

Entire series.

Planned to keep ME, ME2 and ME3 and my Xbox 360 come next generation console just so I could play them again. Depending on what happens, I may add to the second hand pile up.

Not any more.

Still have my Nintendo 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask though.

It's been almost a week now, and it's getting better.  I've finished re-installing ME1 and ME2 (I have limited disc space because I'm cheap, but I keep my save files.)  I have no desire to import one of my previous ME2 games to ME3 right now, but I'm starting to feel like playing through ME1 and ME2 again knowing what I know.

Let me preface by saying I am not as big a lore nerd as many of the people here. I consider the romance stuff just another achievement, I don't really pursue them or get into them much. I'm more of a guy who likes a decent shooting experience with interesting guns, classes and powers wrapped up in a pretty good story. Don't get me wrong, I liked a lot of the characters and thought they were well done, I just wasn't very invested in the whole grow old with Tali or have lots a blue kids with Liara thing, it wasn't why the endings sucked to me.

That said, this was a game destroying ending, I have no motivation to even finish the game after first seeing how the game played out on my friends Xbox. I can barely play a mission a night before I am reminded how pointless it all is.

Short version, yes the ending really did ruin the game for me, not meant to be dramatic, its just the facts, I can't care to play the game much.
