My friend finally got ME3 yesterday and he's marathoning the **** out of it. He got it last night and he's on the geth dreadnought already.
Now here's my problem. He has no idea what's coming. At all. He thinks I won't talk about the ending because if how much in awe I am of it. He thinks it'll be amazing. The worst part is that he keeps asking me how his decisions will play out later. He says he's going to video chat with me via facetime later tonight. How should I prepare him? What can I say?
I'm in a real jam guys.

Don't spoil anything for him. The game is fantastic up until the last ten minutes; let him enjoy the time he has left.

Just tell him Blue, Green, Red, and then walk away.

Let him go through it spoiler-free. Some lessons have to be learned the hard way. Such is life.

Use the same logic as the Starchild...kill him before he can finish!!!!

No spoilers.
Talk to him about it after he finishes so he has a chance to form his own opinions.

Let him get there on his own.
It'll be the only way he truly understands.
Only Maurader Shields can save him now.

not sure there's anything you can say. I had read that the endings were awful, but didn't believe it until I got there myself. Anyway, who knows, he might be one of the lucky ones who actually likes the ending.

Sit in there with your friend while he plays the ending.
Wait for Anderson to tell Shepard that he did good, before Shepard takes the elevator up.
And then get up and turn off your friend's 360 and explain that you're doing him a favor.

It's a difficult position to be sure. The ending is so bad that it's hard to believe until you've seen it for yourself. If he wants the spoilers though, I'd be upfront about him, and tell him about the RetakeME3 campaign.
Does he have a version that he can return? At least then he might be able to get his money back.

Let him finish without spoilers. If he likes the ending, good for him. If not, you can tell him he's not alone. Since he already owns it and is playing I would consider it wrong to give any of it away, terrible though the endings were.

When he finds the truth, the fleet will be waiting. We can always use more soldiers.

[TIM]Use him as a test subject. Carefully record his reactions. Study him and forge him into a weapon to strike at the heart of the terrible ending.[/TIM]

Chances are that if he hasn't been exposed to the hatred and negativity of the forums, he will find the endings to be okay. Not awe-inspiring, not amazing, but he will be okay with them. Maybe only slightly disappointed.

I've warned my friends that there's a controversy about the ending, but I've given them no more information than that.

I agree with this. I didn't tell my friend about the ending, he is about to play it. I didn't want it spoiled, and afterwards I knew that if i found out what the ending was, it probably would've ruined the entire game for me. Let him play it and enjoy every minute of it, because it is awesome until the last 10 minutes.Vito_Raliffe wrote...

Get 3 different colored envelopes (red, green, blue) and write something to do on an index card or piece of paper, like something to do besides play video games. Put one in each envelope. Wait for him to tell you when he beats it. Don't say anything about it and have him pick one. Read it and go do something else to take both of your minds off of it.
