haha I don't even think on my first playthrough I realized he was my last oppoenent. I doubt the guy will get the reference after he beats the ending. Then he will know he should have let Maurader Sheilds just kill him.

yep, he's more than the hero we deserve. No one appreciated him, until it was too late.

I'm in a similar boat, OP, with my boyfriend. He knows only that I know the endings, and that I am excessively unhappy. He will not let me even discuss this unhappiness in his presence, and really, I kind of feel bad that I ****ed about it so much to my brothers, because now they have all stopped playing it from a loss of interest.

The boyfriend, however, is going to be the worst. He will either love it, which I doubt, despite his penchant for dark endings, because this is just so left field/wtf, or he will hate it. I fear the 'hate it' because *his* rants make mine pale by comparison. I feel bad that he wouldn't let me warn him before he spent $80 on a CE, because as he's still in college, money is tight for him. But eh, he's such a OCD freak of nature about spoilers, even when they're for his own good that all I can do is watch.

Him giving me the play by play over various forms of communication is only making it worse. I think he's about 3/4ths done now, judging by what he's said and I feel like I'm waiting for a bomb to go off.

Na uh... I'm not saying I was completely ignorant of of the 'hate' but I wrote it off. much the way IGN tries to now.

Then I reached the ending... I couldn't have been shocked. I'm glad you obviously don't feel that way but don't make US the scapgoat for this storm of negativity. It lays directly on bioware's doorstep.

OP - My opinion is if they haven't paid money for it yet. Warn them off. just say the ending was so bad it ruined the game for you. But if they've already bought it.. not much you can do. besides maybe they'll be lucky enough to like it. Odd are better than wining the lottery at least.

I was having this dilemma but I don't really think its fair to let people suffer that ending without some sort of heads up. I mean the rest of the game is still pretty epic

Better to let him experience it himself and develop his own opinion rather than just tell him it sucks or have him find out later via the internet. Because face it: he'll find out about it one way or other, no matter what.

Lie to him, it's much better that he's allowed as much happiness as he can get before he gets to the ending. You should record his face afterwards.
