Say nothing. Let him have his fun while he can.

Just tell him not to get his hopes up. Then let it happen.

I was in a similar situation, got the digital PC version activated a few days ahead of my brother who bought the 360 version. I finished the game the night before he got it and I was so deflated, but didn't tell him anything about it, since he was so excited about finally playing me3. He is also a huge rpg nerd and cries when dogs die in movies. I text him three days later asking him if he had finished it.
He answers "yes" and I text back "what did you think?". He responds with "Awesome". Somehow people can actually like this ending. I didn't believe it until I heard it from my bro.

Horrible situation to be in. My boyfriend yelled at me for not warning him since I finished the game a week before him and refused to talk about the end.

Chances are that if he hasn't been exposed to the hatred and negativity of the forums, he will find the endings to be okay. Not awe-inspiring, not amazing, but he will be okay with them. Maybe only slightly disappointed.
Riight so it's all the fault of the 'haters'
Na uh... I'm not saying I was completely ignorant of of the 'hate' but I wrote it off. much the way IGN tries to now.
Then I reached the ending... I couldn't have been shocked. I'm glad you obviously don't feel that way but don't make US the scapgoat for this storm of negativity. It lays directly on bioware's doorstep.
I think this is one of the most common stories of the current "haters".
Saw Spoilers, not prepared.
Saw reaction, thought it was over the top.
Saw ending, jumped ship.
Even goes for some reviewers.

I can't speak for others but i knew nothing about the rage going on about the endings until I completed the game and almost immediatly begin searching the internet to find out if i did something wrong. Then i found out that what i experienced was pretty much it - and i was devistated to be honest. Hate to say that about a game but its true.
In short, the "haters" as you put them did not influence my reaction. But afterword, i gladly joined thier ranks.
Hold the Line...

Refuse to say anything, go total no comment.

Completely agreed with this, I had heard nothing on the ending and I still came here.
